View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my first BlackBerry (Curve 3G 9300) on Friday and tried to setup a personal email account on the phone via the setup wizard earlier today. The phone said that an update to 6.11...... was needed in order to do this. I let it update, now the phone is just hanging after starting up. If I do a start up after removing the battery it comes up with a black screen with the BlackBerry logo and a progress bar below it. The progress bar moves along until the end, this takes around a minute. It then shows something like a little clock over the logo for about a second. Once this disappears the phone says with the logo and the completed progress bar - and just hangs there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently Google Sync was shut down, I followed the steps suggested by Google and went to my Blackberry Internet Service webpage. My service is with Optus in Australia. I opened the email account that I wanted to edit and checked the boxes for syncing of Calendar and Contacts, clicked save and then a message appeared on the page saying I should go to email setup on my phone and complete the security activation. When I did that I found that the email setup icon was not active
I then called Optus Tech support and was put through to a centre in Manila, they really had no idea what I was talking about and used a stock answer that it was a Google/Gmail issue. While I had them on the line I set up a new email account with Outlook.com, when I tried to sync calendar and contacts the same issue arose.
When I bought this phone I had to use the BIS to set up my email accounts, the setup email icon did not work then either but I was told by Optus that was normal and all setup should be done using BIS.
I no longer have calendar syncing which is quite important for my work.
I did try a suggestion from the forum by logging in to mobile.blackberry.com - communicate - email and editing from there but there is no option shown there for calendar and contacts, the only option is for syncing deleted messages.
I am running version 6.0 bundle 2647 --platform 6.6.0.223 While in set up and attempting to open "email accounts" the device either freezes or will not allow me to open the programme?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy email icon (the one associated with an email account added via Blackberry Internet Service) has disappeared after upgrading the Blackberry Device Software via Blackberry Desktop. At the same time after the upgrade Email Setup does no work. Clicking on the setup icon -> email gets the clock timer for 1 second and then nothing.I've now downgraded back to device operating system 6.0 bundle 905 which has made the email setup icon workagain but no email icon has returned.I've requested the service books which have been successful, but no icon. I've removed and reinserted the battery.I can read messages from the general message icon which shows email is getting to the device but I'd prefer the original functionality of a seperate email icon per account appearing in the All Icons section.I think 6.0 bundle 2647 seems a liitle flaxy or something got corrupted at upgrade.
View 5 Replies View RelatedYesterday I downgraded from 603 to 517, and lost an icon for my local email on suddenlink.net. I went to setup, and deleted the account, rebooted, then set it up again. However, I still get no icon for the account.I read a similar post, and it was suggested to log on to the bis (?) server.I can still receive emails using the account, but cannot send without a way to get into it.I am on Vzw, and have never logged on to anything there or at BB that has to do with bis .

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 9300 and recently upgraded to version 3.1.0.58 app world then after a few days the icon disappeared. I tried to download from the blackberry website but I kept having a message that too many tabs were open (there wasnt) and that the browser needed cleaning (or words to that effect...I think!). I have since received an email from blackberry stating that there was an error with that version and to download version 3.1.0.56 - I cannot download that either. I have tried by connecting to my laptop and downloading from the blackberry site, it states that I cannot download from there and to use the mobile web. I still cannot download from there either. I do have updated software on my curve as it crashed about 3 months ago when removing an app.
