BB Bold :: Email Settings Icon Missing In Setup Folder?
Jun 29, 2011
My email settings icon is missing in my Setup Folder. I only have three icons available in my Setup Folder; the icon for Setup Wizard Wi-Fi Settings and Bluetooth Settings. how I can retrieve the email Settings icon on my BB Bold 9700 so I am able to set up my internet email account on my BB?
I just bought my bold 9700 today and I can't seem to figure this problem out. I used the Setup Wizard to setup my Yahoo! email account, and at the end it said it had been successful and that an icon had been added to my Home Screen. However, I CAN'T FIND THIS ICON ANYWHERE.
I can only see my email messages in the unified Messages folder (along with BBM messages, facebook messages, ,etc., it's a mess), but I can't seem to have a folder ONLY for my Yahoo! email account. Please help me out, I've been at this for hours and have asked other friends for help but no one can figure this out.
My battery came out, and when I turned my Blackberry Curve 8900 back on , my SMS folder was missing.I was able to find it by: 1. Clicking the blackberry button 2. Clicking messages 3. Clicking the BB button again and scrolling to "View Folder" There I have options like "browser messages" "facebook messages" "mms inbox" etc. There are two sections SMS inbox and SMS outbox. I can get to my text messages that way, but its really tedious. If I click on SMS inbox it takes me to what used to be my text screen. When I click the BB button again, there are no "move options"Anyone know how to get it back to being its own icon on the front screen?
i was navigating with my phone the other day and i think the battery was low. Everything was running very slowely and somehow i accidentally deleted the first mail folder on the start screen. I can't remember what that folder was called but it included all the email addresses that i have plus messages as far as phone messages...it was a sort of summary folder i think. So is there a way to restore it? I didn't see that i was deleting or moving. Just saw the results of the folder not being present anymore.
The other problem that has existed since i have had this phone is that two of the email addresses never show the emails. If i go into the folder it says simply *no messages* and yet there is at the bottom of the screen what you see in the attached image....that there is a message. Plus at the top there is a little notification icon saying the number of unread messages.
Updated my Blackberry software to v5.0 on my Tour 9630 and now I'm missing my AOL email folder. Now receiving my emails in my messages folder. Does anyone have a solution to getting my AOL email folder back and getting my emails sent there as well. I've tried a couple things with no luck!
I have tried to chnage a few settings in the process of getting a longer battery life and now I cannot see the "sync email to handheld "or email signatures under email Preferences anymore. Not sure what I chnaged. I only see ënable HTML Email" there now. Not getting any emails delivered under Desktop anymore. Have tried removing the battery and restarting phoen, still no luck. How do I get this back to normal settings?
Up until now I have had two personal emails setup and functions. Now realize they are not there. Went to Setup/Email Accounts..and the icon is not there. I can't find anywhere else. Why can't I setup my email on BB? Where is the icon?
After changing one of the my email account passwords, I tried to update the info in the set up area but the 'email account' icon doesn't respond (all the others do). I've tried switching off and on and taking out the battery.
Can anyone please explain why i have a new 'mini orange envelope' icon with a 'thin swirly line round it' at the bottom of my folder on my 2 x hotmail accounts folders? They used to just be plain envelopes icons. Has something happened that I should be aware of or is something saved? What is this new icon alerting me to? or is this just a creative upgrade?(I auto-upgraded my BB Desktop Software to 22.214.171.124 recently, is this related?)I have always had a 'mini globe' icon at the bottom of my folder for my Gmail account. This has stayed the same. Does it perhaps represent a pop/hotmail account as opposed to a gmail-forwarded account?
Recently Google Sync was shut down, I followed the steps suggested by Google and went to my Blackberry Internet Service webpage. My service is with Optus in Australia. I opened the email account that I wanted to edit and checked the boxes for syncing of Calendar and Contacts, clicked save and then a message appeared on the page saying I should go to email setup on my phone and complete the security activation. When I did that I found that the email setup icon was not active
I then called Optus Tech support and was put through to a centre in Manila, they really had no idea what I was talking about and used a stock answer that it was a Google/Gmail issue. While I had them on the line I set up a new email account with Outlook.com, when I tried to sync calendar and contacts the same issue arose.
When I bought this phone I had to use the BIS to set up my email accounts, the setup email icon did not work then either but I was told by Optus that was normal and all setup should be done using BIS.
I no longer have calendar syncing which is quite important for my work.
I did try a suggestion from the forum by logging in to mobile.blackberry.com - communicate - email and editing from there but there is no option shown there for calendar and contacts, the only option is for syncing deleted messages.
Anyone else missing the 'Edit Signature' option under Email Settings on their 9650? I just noticed this afternoon it's not there. I'm running 126.96.36.1990 on BES.Not sure how long it has been missing; if it has been gone since June since I switched from my 8330 to this 9650 or if it was when I upgraded from .732 to .810.
Just wanted to check, I'll probably try downgrading back to .732 to see if it brings it back.I've actually only got three options under Email Settings; Enable HTML, Download images and Confirm external image download.
My email icon (the one associated with an email account added via Blackberry Internet Service) has disappeared after upgrading the Blackberry Device Software via Blackberry Desktop. At the same time after the upgrade Email Setup does no work. Clicking on the setup icon -> email gets the clock timer for 1 second and then nothing.I've now downgraded back to device operating system 6.0 bundle 905 which has made the email setup icon workagain but no email icon has returned.I've requested the service books which have been successful, but no icon. I've removed and reinserted the battery.I can read messages from the general message icon which shows email is getting to the device but I'd prefer the original functionality of a seperate email icon per account appearing in the All Icons section.I think 6.0 bundle 2647 seems a liitle flaxy or something got corrupted at upgrade.
I had an error on my BB 9900 so I had to reinstall the software it did do! Then I installed all my date with Blackberry protect. Now my email is set up and I do receive emails but my icon is not on my phone?
I tried to unlock my T-Mobile Blackberry Bold 9700. I followed the instructions to "Turn All Connections Off" and pressing the RED END. Afterwards, the instructions said to go Settings. However, I cannot locate the "Settings" icon in the ALL appoications. Can anyone help me find the missing Settings icon.
My "Settings" icon disappeared from my iPhone yesterday. I was able to find it using the search function (swipe left from the home screen), but the idon was completely gone.
After checking all my app folders to no avail, I plugged my iPhone into my Mac. In iTunes, I selected the phone in the left column and then selected "Apps" from the horizontal bar across the top of the settings. From there, I could re-arrange the icons on my iPhone.
My Settings icon was there, hiding out on the very last page if icons, all by itself. It had apparently been relegated there (not by me, I know that for sure). I was able to move it back to my home screen and now everything is OK.

I did an upgrade to v188.8.131.520 on my Blackberry 9700 and after that my Standby - Mute button not working also the Email Setup is missing an option to add a personal account it only giving me option to add "Blackberry Enterprise Server."
How can I recover the email set up in the setup menu?I only have the setup wizard, the WI-FI set up and the Bluetooth set up.I have already reset to factory defaults without success. My mobile is Curve 8520 with OS V184.108.40.2061

After a software check using the update service, i restarted the device and the settings icon ( to access all device configuration , wireless settings etc..) was missing. Any known solution to restore it without a full reinstall ? I am on android 2.1.

All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?
