After a software check using the update service, i restarted the device and the settings icon ( to access all device configuration , wireless settings etc..) was missing. Any known solution to restore it without a full reinstall ? I am on android 2.1.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy "Settings" icon disappeared from my iPhone yesterday. I was able to find it using the search function (swipe left from the home screen), but the idon was completely gone.
After checking all my app folders to no avail, I plugged my iPhone into my Mac. In iTunes, I selected the phone in the left column and then selected "Apps" from the horizontal bar across the top of the settings. From there, I could re-arrange the icons on my iPhone.
My Settings icon was there, hiding out on the very last page if icons, all by itself. It had apparently been relegated there (not by me, I know that for sure). I was able to move it back to my home screen and now everything is OK.
My Messaging / SMS icon has vanished from my Nokia Lumia 1020 screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]

After the V2 upgrade taking so long, and still no manual exposure, I find it highly unlikely we will ever get manual exposure settings on the Sony Xperia series. I will sell my Xperia Z5 premium and get myself an LG G4.

It is important to notice that I didn't removed such icons, because IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. When you remove/insert icons on this panel, they auto arrange in this screen. So it is not possible to leave the screen with these "holes".

This happens when I switch users in the phone. The guest user does not have the same icons than the proprietary, so when I switch back, my icons are not restored. To workaround I have to edit this menu and move any icon, or restart the phone.

This morning (or at some point during the night) my messaging icon disappeared from the bottom of my home page on my xperia play. I'm just left with the usual media, contacts and phone icons. I tried to manually add it, but I get a message saying 'No room on this home screen'. I don't know how or why this has happened, as he icon was there last night, and at some point in the night it vanished. I don't switch my phone off, so I'm at a loss as to why it could have just disappeared for no apparent reason.

The background is taht I have upgraded to android 2.1 and installed a few different calendar apps to get a better widget. I ended up with Gemini and uninstalled the other apps and widgets again. But after I upgraded to version 4.0 I bought the license. There is only a small problem now, there is no menu now to select "My Maps" and download. Tried to contact support but they don't seem to understand the problem. They keep telling my to navigate to the download menu.
