when I started to organize my N8's menu I clicked on the Settings icon and moved it and it disappeared from the menu I looked in the Application folder but it wasn't there. And now I don't know how to return it (BTW tried to restore factory settings stayed the same the icon is gone)

In my old Droid X it was in Menu>Settings>Location & Security>Calibrate Compass.Now, Calibrate Compass is no longer there.Perhaps the DX2 compass doesn't require calibration.

I seem however, able to send messages by going to the email, but instead of composing email, i compose sms. However, I never get any replies. The message icon disappeared approximately two weeks ago. I went to the 02 store and the technical assistant took my phone for about 30 minutes, and then gave it back to me, saying he had no idea what had happened. He initially thought it had been "hiden" but it appears to be no where!

View 1 Replies View RelatedOdd; I noticed after upgrading to Denim official, the MS Camera is no longer on the app menu; I had it as a tile on my SS, so after restoring a backup, I still had it. But if you didn't, it seems the only way one could get to it would be to set it as the default camera app, then push the camera hardware button. Reminds me of how Nokia would yank the native maps from the menu, and people created tiles in the store that acted as shortcuts. With this update, native maps is in the menu, but now native camera is not.

I've spent just over a week looking for an answer, searching Google and forums.The screen is very dull on the main menu, to the extent that to see any data on it you need to be in a very dark room. The screen saver however is just as bright as it has always been, brighter in fact.
I've turned the screen brightness up to full but this made no difference. It is almost as if the back light has been turned off.Does anyone know how to turn the back light on or even any resolution of this so I can use the phone during the day.
My "Settings" icon disappeared from my iPhone yesterday. I was able to find it using the search function (swipe left from the home screen), but the idon was completely gone.
After checking all my app folders to no avail, I plugged my iPhone into my Mac. In iTunes, I selected the phone in the left column and then selected "Apps" from the horizontal bar across the top of the settings. From there, I could re-arrange the icons on my iPhone.
My Settings icon was there, hiding out on the very last page if icons, all by itself. It had apparently been relegated there (not by me, I know that for sure). I was able to move it back to my home screen and now everything is OK.
My email settings icon is missing in my Setup Folder. I only have three icons available in my Setup Folder; the icon for Setup Wizard Wi-Fi Settings and Bluetooth Settings. how I can retrieve the email Settings icon on my BB Bold 9700 so I am able to set up my internet email account on my BB?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a software update via Nokia Suite as it said it had some new themes. While this was installing my N8 ran out of memory and the installation failed. When I checked my N8 the homescreen widgets and shortcuts had disappeared.
I have tried to re- add them but they do not appear on any of the homescreens.
Been using the N900 for a few weeks now, replacing one of my superb E90s. So far, sort of so good, the major differences in the user interface are causing a few issues, but I sort of expected that!Does anyone have any answers to the following please?
1. Is there some way of being notified of my emails better? I have four accounts on my Nokia Messaging account, and I have to open each one and check each inbox individually. Pain in the neck; is there an app that shows on the main menu screen what new emails are in which box?
2. Can SMS be marked read? My N900 keeps reporting that I have so many new SMSs, but I have actually read them;
3. Why do all my contacts' birthdays come up twice in the calendar? That's just annoying - it looks as though the N900 is adding a birthday automatically;
4. Is there a setting to allow the system to change from portrait to landscape and back again? My device only seems to do this on a few applications - is this normal?
5. Skype - is there a way to see which contacts are on line, other than having to wade through the contact lists? I have over 2,000 contacts and it is pretty time consuming, if I am just looking for a chat with anyone about.
1. No email list on the main screen. In the settings, I have the following options (all names translated from the Polish interface, so original English names can be different) - "Email notification 1", "Email notification 2" and "Nokia Messaging email". The first two seem to refer to the default email program (not Messaging) - I cannot set any mailboxes for them ("There is no mailbox" error). "Nokia Messaging email" shows the "Set up e-mail" link on the main screen. With previous firmware and messaging I had another option "Nokia Intellisync" which triggered email list on the main screen. No such option anymore.
2. Email notifications are "on" in Messaging but when emails arrive there is only a sound. No icon (@) anywhere, no blinking.
I received a N97 today(from out my country). I put my sim in, i can recive or make calls, however many of the phones menu options are missing. There is no wifi menu, when i tried to connect via Suite, phone didn't show me suite, in mass storage usb it shows me total memory is less than 1 mega, and when i try to enter other applications like "My Nokia" i get "Not allowed now" message. Is the phone locked or something? Can i fix it or should i take it to a service?
View 8 Replies View Related've recently bought a nokia E72 after losing my E71 and I'm really disappointed with this mobile phone. I share most of the problems shared by most of the users. Messy software, awful sound, horrible build quality with lights comig from everywhere. But lately I found another problem with my mobile. When I create a new message, in the messaging menu, I don't have the option to create a MMS message. All the options I have are ''message (sms) / audio message / avatar sms / e-mail''. No signs of MMS creation option. I tried to uninstall the ''avatar sms'' software to check if the MMS menu would appear but still nothing. I've check the MMS settings and all the settings are ok, but still nothing in the messagin menu to create a MMS.

However, I'ts happened again.My inbox had 3 messages, that I'd not heard a beep for, I had no little envelope icon and no "New Message" alert on the main screen.
As a test, we sent a message to my phone, the message hit the inbox, but there were no notificataions. I changed the profile and sent another text.. same again, no notifications.I rebooted the phone and sent another message.. this time everything worked OK.I'm using a standard message tone as the tone alert..
