I have only had this for 2days and I am unable to get the emails working, in the set up tables the email setting icon is not there and when I try to set up the email in the set up wizard, email set up only gives 1 option 'I want to use a work email account with blackberry enterprise server' which I don't I wan to connect to my home email address with Sky Email

View 6 Replies View Relatedim hoping this will make my problem come across easier, I think the problem im having connecting to the bbm and facebook etc on my phone through wifi is that after id been using them fine while connected to wifi, i had blackberry settings sent to me via vodafone. Now im looking to go back to bein able to connect through wifi as someone else is using the phone, so would i have to restore the original setting and if so how do it do it?

My plan is to wait to get emails until the Berry is conneced to a hotel wi fi system. I assume at that point the berry will collect emails via the wi fi and so carrier charges will not apply.
So for convenience I need to enable/disable emails on the fly
my Curve 8520 has just received an update.however, since doing so, I am unable to set the alarm on my clock and blackberry app world keeps crashing on me.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.

Each time I got to setup the email the only option is 'I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server' But I don't. And I know to download apps you have to download the app world. I did it via the desktop but apparently my phone is compatible?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 8520 from TMobile (US).I also had a Pearl 8100 from Fido (Canada).I got the Curve unlocked and want to use it on the Fido network instead of the Pearl. I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email.When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.

When the Application Loader launches, it only provides me with the option of maintaining my OS and downgrading my OS to the older 4.6.1 version. I have previously used the exact same steps on another Curve 8520 and I had successfully upgraded the OS. After the upgrade was successful on the first phone, only did I try upgrading the second phone. Is there anything I did wrongly the second time around?

The Email Settings : add more account envelope is missing ! I activated my host route table 100% fine, but I cannot set up a personal email, only a enterprise one.

for the past week i was unable to access my email services. I have done a handheld wipe as well on my phone also after that which result that my email icon etc is not showing anymore. When i run a diagnostic test everythingis fine except for the PIN-PIN.

I phoned my service provider and according to them everything is in order on there system. They have tried to resend my email service books but i don't recieve it. Data service etc is working fine and my phone register on the blackberry network. Please assist as i am unable to setup my emails etc or connect to messenger etc....
I've just upgraded to OS 5 and according to the screen icons I have 2 unread email messages.This is not correct but I have an email account where I had messages on the device prior to update but now I can't delete them and I think the two problems are connected.The email seems to be working OK otherwise - just can't get rid of these old messages!

Then, some weeks ago I stopped receiving emails and I couldn't send either. I ended up removing both email accounts and then I set up one of them, tried it and it worked. Then I went and tried to set up the second one but I haven't been able to do so since.I go to Setup > Email Settings > Add > Gmail (the account I want to set up is on Gmail). I write the correct email address and password and click on Next, it says it's "Processing, prease wait..." and then every time it says "Update Failed".
I've tried also choosing Other instead of Gmail when trying to add the second account but at the end it gives me the same error, "Update Failed". have the BlackBerry Desktop Software 2.4.0 and I've looked there for an option to try and set up my second email account through the software but there just seems not to be such an option.'ve never had any other problem when it comes to the email or the internet connection in general.'ve been looking for a solution in the forum but I haven't found anything.
I just had to rebuild a BES box using the Xpress Server software 5.0.1. After reactivating all the phones, I noticed that the subfolders were all empty. Here is what I did...
1. I double checked the Web Desktop Manager to ensure that the redirection was turned on.
2. Enabled folder redirection on the handheld and SELECTED ALL subfolders.
a. I read that the messages would have to be moved to another folder, then readded for the sync to catch, so I did...
3. Gave it 1/2 hour and it still didn't work...

I have found out that the Attachment Service is no longer installed on my handset & when connected to the Desktop Manager it is not in the application list so there is no option to install it. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a new BB Curve 8520. On my desktop I have Windows 7, with Microsoft Outlook 2007. My e-mail is a Windows Live account through Office Live, which I believe is a web-based e-mail account. This means, in order for me to get e-mail in Outlook, I have to use the Microsoft Outlook Connector. When I go to sync using Desktop Manager, I first try and install intellisync through the Wizard and I get a "successfully installed message, but when I click "OK" the error: "Folder is no longer part of system data source or the folder could not be found" appears and I am never able to sync successfully, either through the USB or wirelessly. I have uninstalled and re-installed the Desktop Manager many times. However, I am receiving the e-mails through to my BB. But if I'm unable to sync Calendar, Tasks, or clear deleted e-mails etc. with my Desktop, the BB is not a lot of help or benefit to me.

can anyone give me a hand or at least point me in the right direction? if nothing can fix this i was thinking of doing a restore however i'm with fido and would lose the "my account" app and am unsure about how to regain it
i cant really make a backup now because when i wipe out and restore my settings will still be without wap. lets say i used the advanced option in backup restore and backed up everything except options and wap settings would that leave me with a new restore and keep my fido my account apps and just have to resync my email etc with the device?
i pretty much can't watch Internet videos and it hurst.
Just got new 8520 to replace 8320. Windows will only recognise it as a Rim Composite Device and cannot find software.
I have an existing 8320 which connects and works perfectly OK on the same laptop.
This is what I have tried so far
1. Unstalled existing Desktop software and reinstalled both with downloaded version and cd provided version
2. Installed USB/modem drivers from Blackberry downloads and tried a manual add
3. Ditto with Microsoft generic rim drivers
This has taken about 8 hours of changes so far all to no avail. The 8320 is fine tho'
I got BB Curve 8520 and try to use the internet browser after enabling the wifi. It always fails with error "Failed to obtain an IP address". I have changed wireless security on my Linksys Router from from 'WPA-2' to 'WPA', Still the problem remains. My Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and iPhone are just working fine. I tried the above with & without simcard inserted. I have a Wi-Fi connection at home & office and want to browse using this and do not want to use BlackBerry Internet Service of my GSM operator.

The only thing that the manual mentions is how to set the digital signature for Blackberry Enterprise Server devices, and those settings are not present on my device.
