When I got my Blackberry Torch 9800 everything worked for two days well not everything the browser said "uncaught exception java.lang illegal state so I did the sofeware update.After the update a I was unable to use the BB Messange..I went to my Service Provider and they told me I had to reload my OS which they did.I can send and recieve textes and calls but I still cannot get instant messaging, BB messanger and emails. I live in the Cayman Islands and my service provider is LIME. I bought this phone from Amazon via the OEM Planet in April.

He proceeded to start using the built-in Instant Messaging app, which I endorsed because it had the AOL Instant Messenger logo right in it. I assumed that the Instant Messenger use would use his Internet Data Plan. Surprise when I got the first month's bill and AT&T saw fit to route those messages out their SMS system and hit me with close to $40 in "extra TXT" fees. I'm going to ruin one of their employee's day tomorrow. But that's not why I'm here. I deleted that infernal IM app and have found eBuddy, with which I am familiar. I have downloaded it to the Vivaz and it runs, but when it starts is asks for permission to use the Internet, and then it sits there and says "installing". WHen I click "Cancel", I am told: "Your Internet settings must be activated for Java applications, or try again later. Check your phone manual or www.ebuddy.com on how to do this." Well, neither place mentions anything about this. How can I get this application to run?

Now the photos are no longer present in file explorer , but when I want to attach a photo or a video from an app like WhatsApp or Viber it keeps on showing previews of deleted albums. View 3 Replies View Relatedi bought my BB one of the first things i wanted to do was setup my e-mail account and instant messaging so i did this by following the tutorials, however when i tried doing both it failed. The message i get is "Invalid email address or password. Verify your email addres and password. If the error persists, contact hotmail.co.uk." to setup my email address i chose "othe"r although there are options for windows live, [URL] is not there.
The strange thing is my sister got the same phone and i set her phone up for her and her's weorked straight away and she too registered a hotmail.co.uk email address.
Are you able to listen to music while instant messaging or BBMing? It seems that when I'm listening to music and I'm on BBM and someone sends me a message, it stops my music and I hear the cricket sound but then my music doesn't resume after that. It's bugging me a little because then that means I can't have my music playing and getting SMS/MMS/IM notifications because it'll continue cutting the music off. It sounds like there was an issue when I did a switch device through DM. Anyone care to shed some light if you guys have the same issue?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having little problem with my blackberry 8520....earlier today I couldn't see my blackberry messenger on the instant message file, so searching for it led me to reloading my phone and before I reloaded it, the wifi connection was working perfectly, but now I can connect to wifi but my instant messengers are not working with it, like my blackberry messenger and yahoo messenger are not working with the wifi connection. And under the "Default Browser Configuration, I can see T-mobile internet and Hotspot browser alone.

The alert/sound only appears for incoming bbm messages when I'm typing on bbm. the alert/sound is different than the sound that I set on the profile menu and the volume is much bigger. I use Total Call Blocking with my carrier so that when I call anyone my number is automatically blocked / restricted. Therefore, in my contact list, I have my friends or family contacts listed with the *82 in front of the number to unblock for those people. This works fine for phone calls.
However, on Text Messaging / Picture Messaging, the *82 will cause these messages to fail. I am used to LG phones, you have the ability to edit the number while creating a message, before your send one of these messages. The problem I am having is when I send a Text Message / Picture Message it appears from the blackberry as only the 10 digit number (even though the contact has *82 in front of it)...and the message shows it is sent (with the check mark) but it NEVER received.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIve had it less than a week and im getting more familiar with its features and how it operates, however, ive set up the BB instant messenger using PIN.
Now, the main problem is the sound notifications for the messenger.
In "BlackBerry Messenger Alert" I set "out of holster" to 'tone' and the volume to 'medium'. And, in:
"BlackBerry Messenger New Message" - The same.
When i recieve the INITIAL chat request, my phone makes the sound ive set. Once in the messenger chatting i still get the notification sounds.
I have tried all manner of different setting from muting, and setting 'tone' to 'none'; both in holster and out of holster.
Basically, i want my phone to notify me of the initial/new message, but NOT beep/sound during the actual conversation.
i've got problem with my bb connecting through a wifi cos am in a foreign country and they network service don't support black berry but i have a wifi connection but i can't connect my mail and my instanst messenger.
