BB Bold 9700 :: Error When Trying To Setup Email
Jun 7, 2010i just got my bold and when i try to set up my account it says connecting to email settings then says the app has encountered an error and cannot continue.. I have a att unlocked, please help!

Jun 10, 2010Every time I try to set up an email address, it does not give me the two options (i.e I want to create or add an email address or I want to use a work email account with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server). Instead, it only gives me the "Work" email option. This means I cannot setup Instant Messaging or anything.

Nov 11, 2011I upgraded my Bold 9700 to OS 6 and cannot configure my email addresses. My email addresses are listed and I have the option to verify the passwords but every time I enter the correct password I get a message that says "Sorry, unable to continue your session. Please log in again." The only options I have when dealing with my email addresses is to verify the password. I cannot add an account and I cannot delete an account. There is no option to edit. Essentially there are no options at all except to verify passwords. When I open the menu I get switch application, help and close. Nothing else.

I am receiving a message with the following: first it says connecting to email settings for about 1 minute..... then it shows your device had a problem connecting to the server, try again. and shows always the same.It is not tmobile, all other work great, calls, browser, etc.

Jun 8, 2011I was using my torch for months now and was able to set up 3 web-based email accounts initially. I encountered no problem even syncing my messages with my Playbook. This morning, i was planning to add another email account so i went to the EMAIL SETUP menu and clicked INTERNET MAIL ACCOUNT. There was a prompt asking me that there is an upgrade to the the Email Setup Application so i upgraded. After the reboot my phone when WHITE SCREEN and there was a prompt telling me APP ERROR 601 then my phone automatically reboots then the same error occurred. I was able to restore my phone and now i want to set up my email accounts and the same "upgrade" option is there. After all the hassle of restoring my phone, Im a bit hesitant to upgrade my Email Setup Application. Hence, i cannot configure my email accounts and I cannot see my messages when i Bridge my phone with my Playbook.

Jun 14, 2010I have used the Nokia Messaging Email application for over a year now, without problems. I had to perform a complete reset on my phone (Nokia N79 v30.019). However, upon trying to re-install Nokia Messaging Email software, I can't get past the setup process, as I get an error message saying "Unable to connect to server. Try again later.", right after I choose the email service I wish to use. Shouldn't I be asked for my Nokia Email account login at this point, and not which Email service I would like to use? Is the server down or is it a problem with handset?

Since the update, I have been trying to add an email account to my BB but whenever I try to open the setup app, it advises to update Email Setup Application 6.11.0324.1701. There is a major bug in this update.When I click cancel, I cannot access the setup. When I click ok, the error "com.rim.bis.client" contains a different version of module "net_rim_bis_client" which is also used by "Email Setup Application". If you proceed, "Email Setup Application" may cease to function properly. Proceed? When I click no, the entire download is cancelled and I cant access the setup. When I click yes, the unit doesnt boot and I have to reload the OS.

Feb 3, 2012everything was fine until this morning. after syncing my bb bold 9780, they prompted me to update my blackberry system software. after i have done so, the phone did a long "reboot" and i realised after that all my email accounts are gone. and i have to set them up again.
however after i go to SETUP, i click on EMAIL ACCOUNTS and then INTERNET MAIL ACCOUNT, it goes back to the SETUP page, every single time. And when i select Exit Setup, the phone freezes. When it freezes, i will take out the battery and try again but the same thing happened every single time!
was it something to do with the software? and more importantly, can anyone tell me what i can do to set up my email accounts?

Jun 20, 2010Im in South Africa, got a 9700 from Nashuamobile, using the MTN network.My contract is only beginning from 01 July.I want to setup my current email adress on the phone like it is currrently on my N95.However it seems it will not be possible without the Blackberry service been activated?
So if this is the case, then my question is that the will it be impossible to have my email working on it without the BIS or BES service? How can this be possible? I thought I have the option of taking the BIS service or not?I suppose its the same in all countries , nevermind the ISp or Carrier?

I go to the setup on the main screen (the phone with the green gear) and I can see under set up the little icon for Email Accounts, but when I click on it nothing opens up. I can click on other icons (i.e. Wi-Fi) and the set up screen opens for them, but not for the email accounts.
