I wonder if someone can help me, i have been getting this error message for the past month or so via my phone when trying to login/download apps via the app world. I have no problem siging in via computer or other blackberrys, just my own. I have no problems connecting to the internet on my blackberry, just with the app world?

Started showing white display randomly, and comming back to normal. Now is permanent.Still is under 1 year manufacturer warranty. How can I get RIM to provide support under warranty. View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't know if my thread title makes sense but basically what I would like to know is what are the advantages of downloading the Gmail app vs just setting up a Gmail account through my BIS (Email Settings/Add Account)? My main objective here is wireless contacts sync. I have read a lot of negative feedback regarding Gmail on a BlackBerry but I will not really even be using this for email all to often, although I will from time to time.
What I have done is just added my new Gmail account through the native BlackBerry email setup and then downloaded Google Sync. I downloaded the Gmail app but I didn't really like the UI and I like to have all 3 of my email accounts go into the same folder.
I have just installed the latest update for my Bold 9780 from the Blackberry site. The version now shows 6.0, bundle 2647. I do now encounter a problem. When I access the email setup the device freezes and I can't exit that page anymore. The device has to be turned off, then back on. I did not have this problem prior to the update. Everything else appears okay.I am on the German Telekom network.

I got a message from BlackBerry that I have to validate my gmail password but when I follow the instructions, I can't get it to work. I go to "setup wizard" then to "email settings". It says if I want to access my email, to enter my user and password. I've tried all the user ID's that I would have used but nothing works. When I click on "forgot password" and go through that, it tells me it's sent my password has been sent to my BlackBerry, but it doesn't come.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a message on the general message screen telling me that my gmail password needed to be validated. i never had a problem receiving gmail to my general messages before this. I rarely use the gmail app on the phone because it tends to use more battery than the general message space. Here is what I did:
1. I went to email settings and tried to put in the password. I got a message telling me that the password was not valid even though I know it is the correct password. So I tried again.
2. I turned my phone off and then back on and tried again - same message appeared. I read further and it said that if the problem persisted I needed to contact gmail.
3. I next did a battery pull. The same message appeared again when I tried again - and again!
4. I deleted my gmail account from the phone, turned the phone off, turned it back on and then tried to reenter the gmail account and password. It told me that that gmail account was already in the phone - but the password still would not validate.
5. I changed my gmail password on my computer, tried to input the new password into the account on the phone and that didn't work either!
I purchased a Bold 9780. Everything works fine, exept that by mistake I deleted the application called "Email Setup Application". Then now when I m trying to go in the option Email account management, a message appears which says: Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider. My phone operator is vodaphone.nl and I have the data plan. I tried to deleted all the service books, tried to register it again, and also tried to wipe the blackberry. The result is the same, this application doesnt come back. Is there any way to reinstall this application?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIts been a while since I purchased my Blackberry Bold 9780 (February to be precise). I was extremely happy with its functioning aand it never gave me any problems...until yesterday. I have a Apple Macbook on which I have loaded the Desktop Software to backup my data, transfer music, photos, etc.Yesterday as soon as I connected my device to my computer it notified me that there were updates for my device and if I would like to install them. I ticked on the necessary options to backup my data and initiated the update process. That was the last time I saw my device working fine. It took a while to update after which it finally showed up on my desktop software. The OS was now 6.0 build 2647. I safely disconnected my phone to check whether everything was ok. At first glance it was all good and that was until I went into the setup app on my device and clicked on email set-up. It just showed a small loader for a microsecond but didn't respond. To make matters worse, I couldn't exit the setup app and the device just hung up. After a hard reset, it did manage to enter the email setup app, showed me two options (Internet mail account, Enterprise account). clicking on any one of them bought me back to the same hang where the device just froze. Multiple hard resets later, took another route to find the problem. This time through my email message inbox---->options---->account management. This is where is showed me a message which read that it was unable to load my account settings and I ned to contact my wireless service provider. 2 hours on the phone with the tech supervisor from Orange and half hour of security wipe, left me back to square one. Issue not resolved yet, device takes ages to start and flashes a red light everytime before it boots....and most importantly can't setup any new mail nor can update the settings of the current ones.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to setup my gmail account on my BB 9700 Bold, but keep getting the message that the gmail account or password is incorrect and won't give me any other options.I updated the phone to OS6 and it still won't accept the gmail account.Also received the "Enhanced Google Mail plug-in for Blackberry smartphones" - but that also stops at the same place.I have another webmail account [URL] that I've always used previously (and it works), but want to change from that email account (which is very spammed out) to my gmail account. Must I delete that account first before adding my gmail account? I haven't done so in case I lose that account and not be able to reinstate it.

This morning I changed my password on my gmail account and now it will not let me receive messages on my blackberry. I deleted the account through the email settings and tried to re add it and it keeps saying username or password is invalid. It seems very odd to me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new replacement 4s. I am trying to set it up. I hate iCloud but need it to sync my calendar to my phone. I mistakenly set it up to sync Contacts too and found out it synced ALL contacts which I do NOT want. I used to use iTunes to sync only selected contact folders (one I call Sync). Others are too sensitive to have on my phone. So I turned off "where is my iPhone", and turned off "Contacts" on iCloud. It said it would delete all my contacts on my phone the next time I sync (using iTunes). So I try to sync my Contacts using iTunes and find that under "Info" on the device tabs my only possible selection is ALL contacts with the "Selected" button greyed out. But even leaving all checked, I get the message "iTunes cannot sync information with the iPhone because syncing has been disabled on this computer (my Mac). Do you want to enable syncing?" I hit the button "Enable syncing" and I get the error message "Syncing cannot be enabled on this computer" with "Override" and "OK" my choices. If I select "OK" I get the error message "iTunes could not sync information to the iPhone (Name) because a sync session could not be started". I can sync my music and my apps but get this stupid message otherwise.

I alreadey tried the suggestions at the Torch board. My desktop manager (6.0) can't connect with my device and I can't force it with application uploader (whatever that may be).
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Bold 9780 with an older version of software on it (cannot confirm as device is white screened with error messages on it).The device was showing Error 561, so I attempted a software update to fix fault.The device has completed the install but cannot connect to the device to reboot - have retried 3 times and waited the half an hour each time only to get an error message on PC.More than one PC tried, still showing fault.Error 507 on the support pages suggests the device does not have OS on it, is there anyway to reload this without Desktop Manager?

It would reboot itself and continue working but I noticed the battery was draining very quickly. Now the device has constant white screen & 507 error message underneath. I followed the instructions to update the device software on my desktop but my device will not connect to my PC and I now have an error 561 on the screen.
