Jul 22, 2011I am on the Mobilicity network which has a bit spotty coverage in some areas and the phone can roam several times a day for a short time when traveling about the city or when on the edge of coverage. My Mobilicity plan has unlimited data while in their native network but the roaming rates for data are extremely high. It is surprising how quickly the charges add up when out of coverage for a very short time. Selecting Disable Data While Roaming turns off the BB data while roaming, but not WAP data. I would like to automatically disable ALL data while roaming so that when out of coverage there will be no data charges but when back in coverage the phone will have access to all data services. I realize that the phone could be set to the Mobilicity network only but I wish to be available by phone and SMS, even when out of Mobilicity coverage. I would like the operation to be automatic since this situation is not quite the same as going for an international trip and it is impractical / incovenient to manually turn the data services on and off manually throughout the day.Is there a setting in the 9780 or a connection manager app that would take care of all of the data connections while going in and out of roaming?

But I'd rather not have it lock at all.The help file indicated that PASSWORD could be disabled, but that does not work for me. I'm looking at Options > Security Options > General Setting.There's a password ENABLED field, but I can't change it, there is a little teeny tiny red lock icon next to the field.
I changed the security timeout to 30, and that helps.
Can anyone tell me how to disable the password lock?

Mar 7, 2010I'm a new and proud owner of a BlackBerry Curve 8900.I bought this used from a guy and I didn't realize this before til now. This phone is "permanently" password protected, meaning that I need to insert my password every single time I unlock my phone. I tried going to "Password" and disabling this option but there is a red lock beside the option and it won't let me choose Disable, only Enable. I went to TMobile and asked them but they said it's programed into the phone and told me to go back to the guy that sold me this.
I don't keep in contact with the guy who sold me this anymore.Is there ANY WAY to disable this?

the second one now thats a different story. the first one is new the second is second hand and the password and firewall is locked (small red padlock). i have tried to back step the rim and i am now reinstalling the rim from o2 but the divice is still locked. please please could some one in here point me in the correct location of a fix. password and firewall dont give you the option to disable. well lost now.
