I was messing around with vpn and it had me put in a password to lock the screen.I tried to disable the screen lockout but there doesnt seem to be any way to disable it.I enter the password under security, and there is no option for it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Droid Turbo. I have never locked the phone. I downloaded ANDROID PAY app last night. It required a screen lock to secure credit card. I agreed and set up a pattern screen lock. I got tired of unlocking phone every time. I went to disable the screen lock and I am NOT ABLE to do that. The security settings for NONE and SWIPE have been grayed out and are no longer an option. I have removed ANDROID PAY and still have issue.

I was looking around on google and it looked like there were some issues in the past with the ease of bypassing it, but couldn't find if it has since been resolved with Froyo and beyond (left the phone at home, so can't test).If the built in password functionality is bogus, can you recommend any apps that you all like and are impossible to crack (or at least thug proof if I were to get robbed on the subway)? I'm really not interest in apps that locak individual applications, just the overall phone.

I prefer that the only screen lock on my phone is the slider, but suddenly this option has gone away. When I hit the lock button, I expect that my phone's screen will go off and in order to turn it back on, I need to hit the lock button again and slide to unlock it. I do not want to enter a pattern, a pin, or a password. In order to get the slide lock to consistently show up after hitting the lock button, I need to add a pattern, pin or password. The slide lock will show up, but I also have to enter the pattern, pin or password after unlocking with the slide lock if the security lock timer setting has elapsed.

But I'd rather not have it lock at all.The help file indicated that PASSWORD could be disabled, but that does not work for me. I'm looking at Options > Security Options > General Setting.There's a password ENABLED field, but I can't change it, there is a little teeny tiny red lock icon next to the field.
I changed the security timeout to 30, and that helps.
Can anyone tell me how to disable the password lock?
I canīt disable the option for password lock, I donīt needed, for me is enough with the "lock keyboard" button . But no matter what I try even following the manual each time I enter the Security option Password lock only appears Abled, doesnīt give any chance to Disable it.

Just got a Motorola Photon 4G. Like with most new tech items, something has to drive you nuts. Right now its the restriction lock that I set up. While no problem in opening it with my pin, I would like to disable it. Has anyone gone through this already, with a successful outcome?

It would be great if it would re-enable when the connection is dropped. I want to take full advantage of HD video camera on my Droid Turbo, and found an external lavalier lapel microphone (Audio Technica 3350iS, which comes with an adapter for "smartphones including iPhone and newer Android phones"). But even when I use the adapter, the video recorder will only use the phone's on board mic. How can I disable/mute the onboard mic? Scoured the interweb, and at one point there was a perfect app "Mute Mic", but the NSA or Google or Motorola decided it was too useful to live.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm not a fan of the car dock app. I can only add one app to the shortcuts and I can't replace the existing ones. There's also a big back icon taking up space in the map app that I can't disable. Plus, I'd rather just use the default Google Navigation app instead. It has a better "follow me" feature when not navigating. Well, at least I like the first person perspective option versus the aerial point of view.
So, is it possible to replace the car app with a 3rd party app? I'd like it to launch instead of the Motorola one when the phone is docked. If so, what's a good 3rd party car app?
If that's not possible, then can I completely disable the car app from launching when docked? I'd prefer to keep using the Motorola car dock since I have Smart Actions that turn on GPS and Bluetooth when docked. I can press menu then exit to go to the home screen but when I press the home button it launches the car dock app again.
Today, my phone and my husband's (same phone: Droid X) activated voicemail on it's own, or else Verizon did it for us. Problem is, neither of us WANT voicemail on our phones! How can we deactivate, while still keeping the option of voicemail later? I thought about just forcing a stop on the voicemail, but am worried that it will mean we won't have the option of voicemail in the future, should we require it.

However, it seems that Droid thinks I hold the buttons to long and launches the search browser anytime I hold a key down for longer than a nano second (which I guess happens a lot when I type). Also, is it now the norm for voicemail messages to be "read" as to the exact time/date/length of the voicemail? Or is that a component of visual voicemail? My messages often take longer to "load" than to listen to the actual vm itself since it is telling me what day it was sent, what time, how long, etc

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter the ICS update, I lost the GPS Enabled/Disabled toggle widget that used to be on my Razr Maxx. It was so easy to push this button to enable/disable the GPS function. Just like the Airplane mode.... Any ideas how I can bring that back?? BTW, I now need to use 3 steps to check the Stand Alone GPS block on my locations in order to use my Google Maps Navigator.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI only use the contacts synched from my Google account on my phone, so I have absolutely no need for Verizon's "Backup Assistant" - yet it's running on my phone anyway and I don't know how to disable it (short of killing it from a task manager - which I've read is not a good idea). When I go to Menu->Manage Apps->Running, I see "Backup Assistant" and another application with the same icon named "Sync Service" both running - using 1.6MB and 2.7MB of RAM respectively. It doesn't give you the option of uninstalling it from the app drawer like other apps do. Is there a way to disable it without rooting the phone?

We need to be able to disable all apps that is safe to do so. Cause the three that I mention here are running all the time and I don't even use them. I've stopped them and there already running again. At least make these 3 so that they can be disabled.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've used exclusively Google Voice for voicemails, and not the VZW service, for over 6 months. I figure all VZW voicemails are cleared out by now. But still, the little "tape" icon is displayed in the notification banner. When I enter the voicemail app, I see that I do have one voicemail. Also, the green LED blinks incessantly sometimes (but sometimes not??). I think the voicemail notification and LED blinking are related.Is there any way to disable notifications for the VZW voicemail, both the notification icon and/or the LED blinking? The Menu button has no effect in the voicemail app, and I don't see any applicable setting in the phone's Settings menu.Or, is there some way to clear/empty/disable my VZW voice mailbox without deactivating Google voicemail for my phone?

1.My new Droid X2 takes 2-3 seconds to turn on the screen after the power button is pressed to take it out of sleep mode, is there a way Motorola can address this issue since it did not exist in Droid X1.
2.I wish there was a way to disable vibration on the unlock slider (I know it didn't exist on DX1) but it'd be nice to have ability to not have that.
3.Is there a way to make it so that when you turn on the phone it does not make a loud "Droid" sound? Even if it's in silent or vibrate mode it still makes that sound, this didn't exist in DX1.Otherwise I like the screen more than in DX1 because it's more contrasty, sharper, and way more responsive to touch, which is great.The motoblur and interface.Same can be said about the whole phone, it's faster/more responsive and more refined UI compared to DX1 in my opinion, good job there.
1.Please add a numeric battery percentage indicator overlaying or next to the battery meter in top notification bar, or atleast return the battery percentage info in the settings like it was in DX1, otherwise one has to go Settings -> About -> Status to see it.
2.Please make gallery display all the pictures after a single-click on gallery app, instead of having to first click on gallery, then wait for some slide-show preview to render, then having to click on "Camera Roll" to get to actual pictures. Seems like a 10 second (2 click) process to view your pictures, it really should just be 1 click and 1-2 second process...
3.Please allow to turn off vibration on slider unlock, as well as "Droid" sound when phone boots up.
4.Please add ability to remove 7 home-screens and set it to only 1 if that's what I use.
5.Allow more icons on the home-screen, I think 5 rows can easily fit, maybe even 5 columns, or 6 rows, instead of generic 4 x 4.
