I had a recent update that updated all my apps. My Droid Turbo that I bought about a month ago came with 54 apps. All of them you can only disable not uninstall since it is part of the OS from what I understand.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to take full advantage of HD video camera on my Droid Turbo, and found an external lavalier lapel microphone (Audio Technica 3350iS, which comes with an adapter for "smartphones including iPhone and newer Android phones"). But even when I use the adapter, the video recorder will only use the phone's on board mic. How can I disable/mute the onboard mic? Scoured the interweb, and at one point there was a perfect app "Mute Mic", but the NSA or Google or Motorola decided it was too useful to live.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if there is a way to get rid of or disable visual voicemail on my Turbo? It is getting annoying any time I get a voicemail and the phone tries to default me to visual voicemail instead of standard (non visual) voicemail.
Also, is it now the norm for voicemail messages to be "read" as to the exact time/date/length of the voicemail? Or is that a component of visual voicemail? My messages often take longer to "load" than to listen to the actual vm itself since it is telling me what day it was sent, what time, how long, etc

View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried searching the forums but could not find anything. When I try to uninstall an app through the market it just hangs on the uninstall page. I have the same result in the app menu on the phone itself. The only way to get the market and/or the app menu on the phone to get going again is to reboot. I tried booting into safe mode and uninstalling apps through settings (app menu) but it still just hangs on uninstalling.

Google sky maps have done it. Moviefone has done it. Firefox has done it. Its like it going through my list uninstalling each app in its on time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Droid Turbo. I have never locked the phone. I downloaded ANDROID PAY app last night. It required a screen lock to secure credit card. I agreed and set up a pattern screen lock. I got tired of unlocking phone every time. I went to disable the screen lock and I am NOT ABLE to do that. The security settings for NONE and SWIPE have been grayed out and are no longer an option. I have removed ANDROID PAY and still have issue.

My primary acct. is with Comcast and I have multiple folders set up for organization purposes; receipts, auto, ebay, etc. None of the email apps I've tried recognize any of the folders other than the inbox. Are there any apps out there that support this? Also, every app I've tried seem to only be able access the most recent 45 emails? Why don't they see everything in the inbox?

View 7 Replies View RelatedComing from a Razr Maxx that had issues, I am accustomed to checking my Running Apps list following a start-up/power cycle and force stopping the ones that are not essential to the phone functioning properly. And it seems old habits die hard as I caught myself doing just this on my Turbo and, what do you know.. some of the same apps are running immediately after start-up, despite the fact that I haven't opened them. A few of the culprits are Password Keeper and YouTube. I do use/open these apps on occasion (1-2 times per month) but I certainly do not like them running automatically for no reason. Nothing I do on the phone on a daily basis requires them to be open. It's a PITA to have to go in and manually tell them to shut the heck up! (Yes, I have gone into the settings on each of these apps but there is no box to uncheck to not have the app run on start-up.) So, it would be ever so nice to be able to have a say on what runs and what doesn't

1) What are your go to apps for offline topo use? A lot of my buddies use Backcounty Navigator.
2) How long will this handset's battery run a GPS app like Backcountry Navigator? I typically go into airplane mode to conserve battery (no cell signal where I go typically anyway) and just use GPS.
After updating to Lollipop 5.1, I noticed my screen is blank after using any app (messaging, GMail, etc.) and it won't come back. Calls and texts and other notices come (can actually answer calls and see the call screen) through, but home screen and any adjacent screens are all black. The status bar and icons are visible though and I can use the pull down menu. It's as if it is refreshing but never gets to the end. I installed many apps, even used a stock wallpaper), but it still will do this. I have to keep rebooting until it eventually stops; I check it by using a random app and seeing if I can see the screen by pressing the Home button. I also wiped the cache partition after the OS upgrade.

On the next update we need the option to disable more apps like that weather thing that's always running and backup assistant + media that I don't use and dlna. We need to be able to disable all apps that is safe to do so. Cause the three that I mention here are running all the time and I don't even use them. I've stopped them and there already running again. At least make these 3 so that they can be disabled.
View 8 Replies View Related After the 5.1 upgrade, my automation apps can't turn off mobile data anymore. That was how I was stopping beeps while I was sleeping. How do I get the phone to go completely silent except for phone calls overnight?
My goal: phone goes silent during set night hours; the only thing that can get it to make noise is a phone call or alarm. It would also be convenient to be able to toggle that mode on or off manually. I need it to be 100% effective in shutting up every single app and beep, and so far the only way I've found to do that is to turn off all data connections.
Would the new 5.1 "Downtime" option fix this problem? On the Interruptions settings page, I could set only phone calls to be priority interruptions, and then set only priority interruptions to come up during quiet hours. Would that really stop all apps, or just those that play nice? Can't seem to trigger that downtime time manually, though.
I've been using Battery drain analyzer free to set up a silent mode at night. It has a simple night and day setting, where at a set time, it can turn things off or on. So every night at bedtime, it turns off wifi, sync, and mobile data, so the only things that could really happen are phone calls and text messages. (I'd like to silence texts, too, but have not figured that out.) Then it all comes back on at a set time in the morning. Simple and straightforward -- that's all I want. It's also convenient to be able to hit the "night" button if I go to bed early or sleep past the usual wakeup time, or to hit the "day" button if I wake up early.
But with the update to 5.1, that app doesn't automatically turn off mobile data anymore. I've also noticed that my Power Toggles notification bar button no longer turns off mobile data with one click; instead it sends me to the settings page for mobile data, where I click again to turn off mobile data. There's no option in Automate It, either.I'm guessing that this is a settings change in 5.1.
Every once in a while (has happened 2 times in as many weeks) the phone or dialer APP will suck battery and throw off my typical discharge time WITHOUT me ever placing a call (let alone opening the phone interface). For example, as shown in the attached, I'm down almost 70% on just 19 hours and change of use, with just 2.5 hours of screen on time, with the phone app draining 7% without any phone usage. Typically, I can make it 24+ hours with 4+ hours of screen time on that level of battery drain.
Aside from those instances, battery has been great on L. Used to get, typically, about 26 hours before charging at 25%. Now, I consistently get 29+ hours on the same usage.
Prior to the lollipop update everything was working fine. Now if I am listening to something on the Audible app or Pocketcast app the Google Maps voice will not break in with directions. There will just be a brief silence where it is trying to speak but no actual voice. If I pause the book or music the maps voice works. If I turn the Bluetooth on the phone off the voice breaks through just fine on the phone speaker. It's very frustrating.

If I press the lock button myself, the phone will lock and stay black with the time. If I unlock my phone and let it be, it'll turn to the rainbow colors. I have my phone on the turbo charger when this happens!

View 13 Replies View RelatedAn OTA update to 5.1.1 loaded last week for my G920I and I am unable to uninstall Knox or disable it. How to do it without root? I am a huge supporter of rooted devices but this one does not have a whole lot of bloat so I would rather keep it unrooted. All the instructions point to a Knox icon and main settings in Knox which I do not have.
Knox is loaded and running and alsmost using up a gig of ram. I had Knox enabled in 5.0.3 before the OTA update and it appears to be enabled still in 5.1.1. I do not care about security and I am careful about what I install and I don't need a system app running and wasting battery and ram.
