I just discovered that my atrix aloud me to uninstall at&t apps. Before the new update it was not possible, but somehow it aloud me. I am on the most current firmware. Can someone respond with an explanation (mark). Ill post pictures tomorrow, but until then you'll have to take my word for it

I am new to smartphones and all that they do. There are a number of apps that were pre-installed when I picked up this device. I can uninstall any downloaded app but am unable to see how to uninstall any of the default apps. I can remove them from the desktop, but they will remain on the phone. How can these be removed from the phone and free up the storage they are using?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried searching the forums but could not find anything. When I try to uninstall an app through the market it just hangs on the uninstall page. I have the same result in the app menu on the phone itself. The only way to get the market and/or the app menu on the phone to get going again is to reboot. I tried booting into safe mode and uninstalling apps through settings (app menu) but it still just hangs on uninstalling.

Google sky maps have done it. Moviefone has done it. Firefox has done it. Its like it going through my list uninstalling each app in its on time.

I have authorized, deauthorized, and reauthorized multiple times. Nothing. I really have no issue if the apps dont sync, but because of this, I cannot actually use the apps on my phone.

Why Cant I Uninstall Apps On My IPhone 3GS it would let me install and uninstall this morning But this afternoon i decided i wanted to uninstall 3 apps and it wont do it at all. usually i have to press and hold the app i want to uninstall and i get the red minus sign to delete the apps i want but all it is doing is what it normally would do except there is no minus sign at all and no matter what i do i cant uninstall anything.

I see them in the directory .android_secure (from my PC since none of the filemanagers I have can see the directory) but I'm baffled as to how to re-install them.

These are on my desktop. Is there a way to stop them and then restart them without fully rebooting the phone? and why does this happen? this is the only problem I have ever noticed on my Atrix and this is one of the best phones i have ever had. View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm curious where the Apps get stored on this phone. As an example - I downloaded "Droidlight" successfully from the Market, but where on this phone is it stored? I opened "Files" and see the directory structure for the internal phone storage and my external SD card, but I don't see an "Apps" directory. Manage Apps under Settings provides the option to move it to the "Media" area, but what directory is that? Would that be in the folder called "Protected Content"? Looks like "Ringtone", "Image", and "Music" are the only sub-folders in there currently.

1) Open installed apps
2) Options> Organize
3) Remove
But there is a problem. Whenever I press on remove the phone ask me do I really want to delete the program, I press yes and nothing is happening ... Soon after that my phone freezes and the program is still there.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy daughter's S5 (AT&T, stock) is low on storage... I think about 400-500 Mb free. Two problems that I'm not sure if they are related.
First... Trying to free-up space. First thought was to move pictures from the phone memory to the SD card. Using the "My Files" app I always get a "Failed to Move" error message. Also, in the application manager, unable to move any apps from phone to SD card, even those where is shows the move to SD as an option.
Second.. Can't uninstall an app. When I select uninstall I get the "uninstalling" message but it never finishes.
So... unable to move stuff to SD card and unable to uninstall apps. I'm not sure if the phone needs a certain amount of storage for any file operation, whether it be moving files or uninstalling apps. If so, it's a catch-22... can't free up enough space to allow the file operations.
I tried a wipe of the partition cache, but doesn't work.

I have owned the phone for a week and previously owned an Atrix. I have downloaded several apps and after restarting my phone some have disappeared. This was ongoing for several days and different apps. A google search shows this to be an issue with several models of Motorola phones when moving apps to the SD card or Media area. A temporary work around seems to be to keep the apps in the phones memory. Not sure this is a permanent fix because many people and I want to move their large apps to the SD card as the OS was designed.
