I am looking for a decent camera app for the Atrix. I am interested in any feedback or reccomendations other Atrix users can provide, about which camear app works best with this particular phone.
View 2 RepliesThe stock camera for my Motorola atrix 4g is not functioning. When I pull up the camera or even the camcorder. The screen is black. As if there is something blocking the lens. The camera overlays are present. The shutter button and zoom in and out keys. After awhile,I get an error message "Camera unable to initialize" I then have to force close. There is nothing blocking the lens. I thought it was a software issue. I've tried everything. Factory date reset twice. Tried different camera software, removed the battery,power cycles. Nothing works. Everything else functions properly. I've been scouring the internet for a solution. There is no solution, only complaints from other android users with the same issue. I think it's a hardware issue. 4G Camera won't initialize
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo today my phone got super hot. So hot that the screen on the top right corner got black und I received a warning that the phone is going into cool down mode. I shut it down and removed the battery to let it cool down.
But now the camera doen't work anymore and the screen stays black when I open a camera app.
Also, it still tends to get hot even when it is turned off and the battery is inserted.
Whenever I take a picture, I like to hold my phone vertical. Hence, all my pictures are sideways. Is there a setting or an app I can get that will change the orientation of my photos?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI bought the Atrix 2 today.Initial thoughts, the screen looks really nice, the soft rubber back feels better then the Atrix 1. I got the same internet speeds as the Atrix 1. Camera button convenient though pressing it doesnt launch camera app. On the Atrix 2 internal memory isnt accessible, even hooking up to pc you cant browse it, so you need a SD card to put music and videos, etc on it.HDMI mirroring worked as expected. I think the MHL mirroring from the SGS2 was better quality though.

I have to hit emergency call, then the PIN screen appears, then the emergency dialer appears, and I have to hit "back" and the PIN screen appears again. While the screen is black tapping on anything doesn't work except the silent slider. I have the button press developer option enabled for anyone who wonders why the dots are there. The face unlock had been working fine for several days.

Very happy with this phone.After the last upgrate of Android (2.3.4), I started having problems with the camera. Sometimes, I get the following message:"Sorry! The application Camera (process com.motorola.Camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again".The only option is to click on "Force close". However, I can try as many times I want to run the camera app and I keep getting the same message, and not being able to use the camera at all. The only solution is to restart my cell phone which is very inconvinient.

What I don't know is the size of the atrix camera covering. The Bbionic looks to be about 7/16" square with slightly rounded corners.

Since then some of the settings in the Camera app have disappeared. The manual says the options available in the camera settings should be: Picture Res, Video Res, Exposure, Review Time, Shutter Tone and Storage Location, which were all present when I first got the phone. But since the update, only pic res, vid res, exposure, storage location are available. I have tried clearing the camera apps data and cache, but no changes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday may be the first time I attempted to transfer photos from my Atrix to the PC. I am running Windows 7 Pro-64bit. After connection via cable, I select USB Mass Storage for the USB connection. Windows throws up a box that asks "Do you want to scan and fix Removable Disk?" I select "continue without scanning. In Windows Explorer there appear to be far fewer folders on the card than when viewing in Astro, but I did not do an exhaustive check. Of immediate concern is that the Camera folder is not visible under DCIM, thus I can't retrieve my photos over the cable. Should I back up the card directly to the PC via microSD adapter then let Windows scan and fix next time over cable?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI called moto this morning and told them the phone is awesome, but the camera can't focus on anything, and the video is jerky. The customer service guy told me he is sending the problem up the latter and is confident that it will be addressed with the next firmware update. He said there were a few people having the same problem. I'm not ready to get rid of this phone, but the camera/video camera are not on the same level with other 8mp/1080 p recording devices.

Can someone respond with an explanation (mark). Ill post pictures tomorrow, but until then you'll have to take my word for it

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have an Atrix running original FW.I also have the lapdock and do like it but REALLY need RDP and VNC clients in order to do my job (linux engineer) better!If any of the updates come out with VNC and/or RDP apps (also ssh CLI would be GREAT!) which I was hoping might be in gingerbread count me in! I use the Atrix and webtop for WORK and right now I just use the lapdock enlarged phone view and run my ssh, vnc, and rdp apps as needed from anywhere I can get a cell or wi-fi signal but the resolution and screen size could be a LOT better.Is there any chance I might see SSH, VNC, and RDP apps added to the webdock any time soon?Is there any plans to add "SPICE" protocol support any time soon for DAAS? url..
Does Motorola have a SDK that I can suggest to developers of the SSH, VNC, and RDP apps I use so they can start developing for the lapdock?Having a full firefox and flash is great (firefox REALLY needs to be updated to v4 with canvas support though!) but just having that and the ICA client I never use is NOT enough!If I could just get AT LEAST a VNC client I could eliminate having to use a laptop completely and just use a VM on my cloud instead!I thought this phone was designed for cloud? It is still missing too many things for me to use it with DAAS (desktop as a service) cloud services!
Have been aable to transfer pictures, so card is working.With Atrix 2 I could transfer apps to SD card.I understand some apps must stay on the phone.

I see them in the directory .android_secure (from my PC since none of the filemanagers I have can see the directory) but I'm baffled as to how to re-install them.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I reboot my Atrix, I notice that sometimes one or two apps dont fully load. I normally reboot the phone once or twice and then they start fully. These are on my desktop. Is there a way to stop them and then restart them without fully rebooting the phone? and why does this happen? this is the only problem I have ever noticed on my Atrix and this is one of the best phones i have ever had. MB860 and is has 16 gb sdcard. Is there a way to stop them and then restart them without fully rebooting the phone?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm curious where the Apps get stored on this phone. As an example - I downloaded "Droidlight" successfully from the Market, but where on this phone is it stored? I opened "Files" and see the directory structure for the internal phone storage and my external SD card, but I don't see an "Apps" directory. Manage Apps under Settings provides the option to move it to the "Media" area, but what directory is that? Would that be in the folder called "Protected Content"? Looks like "Ringtone", "Image", and "Music" are the only sub-folders in there currently.

And the bad thing is after the 5 overheat my Camera does not work any more which is a problem because the is my most used feature. My aunt said the reason it overheats is because its trying hard to look for signal. No mods, no root, only one sideloaded app.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have owned the phone for a week and previously owned an Atrix. I have downloaded several apps and after restarting my phone some have disappeared. This was ongoing for several days and different apps. A google search shows this to be an issue with several models of Motorola phones when moving apps to the SD card or Media area. A temporary work around seems to be to keep the apps in the phones memory. Not sure this is a permanent fix because many people and I want to move their large apps to the SD card as the OS was designed.

I touch the screen to install a free app, but the "accept and download" button does nothing when I touch it. However, I am able to purchase apps without any problem. My wife is having the same issue with her phone. Neither of us have installed any new apps lately, and I have tried an external hard reset with no success. This is incredibly annoying.

For example, the new revision to Facebook, Skype, etc. It's not all apps, but many. I am able to go over to Amazon and install the same apps and versions, but I can't do it from the Market. I get the following message on the left hand side of the window.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I click the menu button, settings, and manage apps, the screen goes to the 'Manage Apps" screen under the "Running Apps." The phone shows the circular loading icon and never loads. The phone doesn't freeze- I can go back to the home screen and such. If I go to settings, applications, and manage applications, the same screen shows up but under the "downloaded" applications tab and there is no problem. It would be much easier to just go to manage apps under the running apps tab so I can force close.
