Oct 28, 2011Just today at lunch I couldn't open my camera. I then powered my phone off and then on again and the camera was fine.

View 7 RepliesI was playing TuneIn Radio and attempted to open the camera but received a "camera unable to initialize" error. I rebooted and got the camera to work but not when I press TuneIn Radio it does nothing. I seems like I need to constantly reboot the phone to get it to do anything. Earlier today I was unable to receive calls when the phone was in my pocket. I would take it out and the unlock bar wouldn't respond. I ended up getting a force to close message and this repeated multiple times, although I could call out. My wife keeps suggesting I take the phone back.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe stock camera for my Motorola atrix 4g is not functioning. When I pull up the camera or even the camcorder. The screen is black. As if there is something blocking the lens. The camera overlays are present. The shutter button and zoom in and out keys. After awhile,I get an error message "Camera unable to initialize" I then have to force close. There is nothing blocking the lens. I thought it was a software issue. I've tried everything. Factory date reset twice. Tried different camera software, removed the battery, power cycles. Nothing works. Everything else functions properly. I've been scouring the internet for a solution. There is no solution, only complaints from other android users with the same issue. I think it's a hardware issue. 4G Camera won't initialize
View 6 Replies View RelatedBasically the camera won't initialize to unlock the screen. I have to hit emergency call, then the PIN screen appears, then the emergency dialer appears, and I have to hit "back" and the PIN screen appears again. While the screen is black tapping on anything doesn't work except the silent slider. I have the button press developer option enabled for anyone who wonders why the dots are there. The face unlock had been working fine for several days.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAbout a week or two ago my camera stopped working--I'm not sure if it coincided with a recent software update, or my switching the storage option to the extrernal SD card or something else, but now when I click on the icon or press the camera button, the camera app launches, but stays black (no picture from the lens) and all the options stay greyed out. Sometimes it says the camera isn't responding and asks if I want to wait--sometimes it just goes straight to "Camera is unable to initialize" and then go back to the home screen. At one point at the start of these issues I had it set to the "chat camera" (the one facing the user)--however, as soon as I switched to the forward-facing camera it went blank. A couple times since then I've gotten an image on the screen like it started to receive a signal, but then it locked up again as normal.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI try to open my camera on my Droid3 and it will either look like its going to load but then just have a black scree, or will just go back to the homescreen and show the message across the bottom of my phone "unable to initialize" tried restarting my phone a few times and still no luck. Really frustrating especially since I just got my phone about a month ago.
View 6 Replies View RelatedJust had a one-off bug on the camera. Whenever I held down the camera button, it would sit for a while doing nothing, try to rotate to landscape for a split moment, and then come back with a floating error: camera is unable to initialize. I tried this many times.
I captured a logcat using CatLog (the recommended aLogcat was not working well for me): [URL]
The logcat has been stripped of my personal information, and is only in relevant part.
When I tap on the camera to launch it, it would quickly flicker as if it were going to open but then immediately just go back to my home screen. "camera unable to initialize" error..I did a reboot and a factory reset it did NOT fix the issue. I am also unable to play any music.
View 15 Replies View RelatedDuring the course of the day, at least once a day, sometimes more, for no reason at all, I'll get a notification on my Droid Turbo that the camera didn't initialize. If the problem persists please power off phone. Well the problem always persists and I always have to power off my phone and turn it back on to get the camera working again. I've tried clearing out the data and the cache and it doesn't work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I haven't had any trouble until now with my boinic. I took pictures saturday and I just tried to take one and this is what I got. "Camera is unable to initialize". I have pulled the battery and cleared the data on the camera app and still nothing. I really dont feel like starting over with it but I can if I have to later.

I tried about 10x to open the camera, each with the same results. So, is this a bug?Obviously if I restart it should work again, but I'd still like to see this patched along with some other issues. If I try to open DroidLight, it immediately crashes as well, since the camera is listed as 'busy.'
This morning my phone said it needed to do an update. So I hit update. about a minute later the screen went black and the motorola symbol popped up in the middle...than in the upper left corner it says Failed to boot 2 starting RSD mode......It will not do anything. I have taken the battery out several times but nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried to do the update from morphine website and when it supposedly finished it rebooted into a failed to boot screen and then turns off. So what do I do now can I fix it or get a new phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I first purchased my Motorola Atrix the biometric scanner worked just fine. I found it to be a hastle and disabled the feature.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm completely stock. Never unlocked any bootloaders or flash anything that messed with the system. I used the Motorola Update software to check for new update and install it. After a reboot, my phone displays the following message "Failed to boot 4" and I can't get the phone to get out of it. The only way I can turn the phone off is with a battery pull. I was on a stock 1.8.3 before this mess. What can I do? Is this a bug in the OTA update?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently got a Motorola Atrix from a friend who used it for 3 weeks and then upgraded to another phone.
When I got it, after doing a factory reset thing, things were fine. But a few hours later after starting up I started to get this message:
svf:105:1:2
Failed to boot 0x1000
Entering NVFlash Recovery Mode
It appears for 2 seconds and then it's gone. I can't seem to do a hard reset; holding any of the volume buttons with the power button to turn it on just gives me this same message.
First let me say that I have done a search and I have read the threads that are the exact same issue as mine. The difference is that I have no idea what to actually do about my phone. Background - when gingerbread pushed to my phone something went wrong (although it was plugged in at the time) and basically my phone reboot itself in the middle of the install. The phone no longer works. When this happened (a few months ago) I had to have a phone immediately as I was heading out of town for a few days and had to have a phone to be able to get in touch with my pregnant wife if need be.Needless to say this is now my "backup" phone that is 10x better than the current phone I am using and I would really like to get it fixed somehow.
I have tried RSD lite. I have tried the motorola software update program. I have tried using the factory cable that was sent in the box. I cannot get the phone to recognize via usb so I cannot move a software to the micro usb card.I cannot access any of the options for the "no os detected" screen that appears. Most of them say that the battery is too low to flash.
this is begining whit firmware update gingerbreadmy atrix show in the display svf :105.1:2 failed to boot 0x1000thats al in the display that i see
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have tried to update to Jelly Bean 4.1 but every time after I download and try to install after the reboot it says "Update Software Failed" I have tried resetting the phone back to its factory settings clearing out all data and still the same issue.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is my second Atrix. It is failing to turn on its' Bluetooth radio. I go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Bluetooth (and Bluetooth Settings) and try to turn Bluetooth on. It indicates that it's turning on Bluetooth and then it fails, returning to the "Turn on bluetooth" message. I've rebooted, done a battery pull, tried to turn it on from Airplane mode...everything short of a factory reset (because I really really really don't want to set this thing up from scratch again!).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI keep getting an error message that the ICS software update has failed. The download process will finish, it will stop a little into the installation, restarts the phone and says the update failed. Is anyone else having this problem or know of any way that I can get the update to install?

After showing this error my phone switch off. Its happened when I try to update my phone to gingerbread.
I have the Bell Mobility Atrix. For the most part it works fine. However, lately, this is what's going on. First I should mention that I have the Android Twitter app (from Twitter) installed on the phone and I can log in to Twitter, send/receive messages just fine with that. If, however, I go to Accounts > Add Account, then select Twitter in the Motoblur section (where all the other social media icons also appear), enter my credentials, I get a message stating Success!, Then, if I go to Messaging from the Home Screen, I see the Twitter icon, however it has a yellow exclamation point through it, and the message "Failed Connection".
So I cannot see/read/send messages to/from my Twitter inbox using the Universal Inbox (again, Twitter works just fine through the regular Android Twitter app). I have done all the normal troubleshooting, i.e. removed battery & SIM card, replaced them. Uninstalled and removed my accounts, rebooted phone. Reinstalled app and also re-added my Motoblur Twitter account, and each time it says "Failed Connection". I don't see online where I can configure my Universal Inbox accounts, only on the phone.
I've noticed that the voice input feature for text messaging (which I REALLY like!) sometimes appears to disable or something, all on its own, and when you attempt to utilize it again, it won't engage. Is there a toggle switch for this somewhere?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a decent camera app for the Atrix. I am interested in any feedback or reccomendations other Atrix users can provide, about which camear app works best with this particular phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo today my phone got super hot. So hot that the screen on the top right corner got black und I received a warning that the phone is going into cool down mode. I shut it down and removed the battery to let it cool down.
But now the camera doen't work anymore and the screen stays black when I open a camera app.
Also, it still tends to get hot even when it is turned off and the battery is inserted.
my yahoo mail account was recently disabled. i tried many times to login with my correct login info but i keep getting the same response...... "login to this account has failed, please try again"

View 15 Replies View RelatedI bought the Atrix 2 today.Initial thoughts, the screen looks really nice, the soft rubber back feels better then the Atrix 1. I got the same internet speeds as the Atrix 1. Camera button convenient though pressing it doesnt launch camera app. On the Atrix 2 internal memory isnt accessible, even hooking up to pc you cant browse it, so you need a SD card to put music and videos, etc on it.HDMI mirroring worked as expected. I think the MHL mirroring from the SGS2 was better quality though.
