I know there are apps that do this, ie Light Flow being one of them that allow you to change the LED notification color for specific apps, like red for gmail etc.Those apps drain battery from waking and such and was wondering if Motorola could incorpate that feature into the Atrix 2.
View 4 RepliesHowever, with KitKat I could have a different color LED light notification for different apps. I could have one for email, text message, voicemail, etc. But with the new lollipop, I don't have any flashing light LED notifications. Am I just not finding it or did they take this away?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy daughter (an iPhone 4 user) glanced at my Atrix while i was playing Angry Birds and asked why everything was so brown. She then compared her screen to mine and I was astounded at how poorly yellows are rendered on my phone! I then comparedit to my son's Samsung Captivate, with similar results. Color rendition on the Atrix is really off.Is there a way to make the color temperature cooler on the Atrix, or to completely recallibrate the display? Now that I've seen the difference, it's hard not to see problems in the display all the time. Any chance that a future update will fix the display driver to be more balanced?
View 8 Replies View RelatedA 2nd atrix in my house recently had a keyboard issue which prevented using the keyboard in the portrait mode. It responded but not correctly. Eagle328 suggested downloading another keyboard, which solved the keyboard use problem so that we can at least use it in portrait mode.
We have now realized that a specific area of the display on all home screens is "dead."
That is, if you divided the screen into 5 equal sections from top to bottom, the second section does not respond anywhere from left to right of that section.
Example 1: if you had your home page filled with app icons, you would have 20 icons. In the second row of icons (from the top), not one of the 4 would respond. All others would act normally.
Example 2: If you had 4 notifications and you pulled the screen down, you could tap the first one, the third one, and the fourth one and get a response...but the 2nd one would not respond because it ends up in that second section of the screen.
I'm thinking it is time to take the phone to the AT&T store, but wanted to throw this out first. As with most of you, this phone is used for business, and would be extremely inconvenient to take into town,... but afraid it may be that time.
How about in addition to being able to assign specific ringtones to contacts -- to even assign a ringtone for a text message from a particular contact?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI performed a factory reset today to remove MySpace from my phone (I was unable to remove it any other way) and now I am having an issue with my phone.A number of my notification icons are now showing in gray instead of in color. The two that stand out the most are email notifications from POP emails (the red stamp) and from Gmail. Each of these now shows as a gray icon. This is minor, but annoying that my phone is behaving differently than it should. I am running 2.3.4 and have tried multiple resets (full resets removing all data and media)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had two Atrix phones since March of this year. The first one was replaced for an issue unrelated to the topic of this post. Both of these devices demonstrated the following behavior:
Approximately every 15 to 25 power cycles, when the Motorola logo starts to animate the phone's LED will begin to blink in one of several colors. It stops blinking when the Motorola logo disappears. The blinking color is most often violet-purple. However, on at least three occasions I've seen it blink light blue and on one occasion it was blinking red.
The blinking LED at this stage of system initialization appears to be a color coded reporting mechanism to indicate a particular state of the phone (perhaps a failure code reporting feature). I'm guessing it's similar to the POST beep codes that a personal computer emits shortly after powered on to indicate such things as device failures, driver loading issues, or configuration problems.
I would like to know what these colors mean during this stage of the phone's booting process. That is, when I see the flashing LED during the Motorola logo animation, I want to know which part of the system is failing. There's no information on the web (including within this forum) that I've been able to locate on this and Motorola technical phone support personnel seem oblivious to the fact that this blinking color reporting even exists.
how to learn what these codes mean? As I've mentioned, both of my Atrix phones have demonstrated this behavior, so I presume all Atrix phones are equipped to demonstrate it as well under certain conditions. It's hard to imagine that Motorola engineers would have implemented a feature like this and then provided no information to anyone about what the color codes mean to make the feature useful.
Since upgrading to Gingerbread, I've noticed the following behavior in the notification bar. Sometimes the cellular signal icon, the 3G icon, and the wifi signal icon are blue in color; other times they are white. Do these changes in color mean anything?

On the Photon I have the same tone setup for text messages coming in through Handcent but it also plays for email coming into the native email client which I do not want. Is there anyway to ether turn it off or select a different ring tone for emails?
Also what is the over/under for Motorola getting tired of hearing "I could do it on my HTC..."
Gmail been broken for the past few days. A song plays every time I get a email and I can't stop it. Byond frustrating. How can I set gmail notification to be different?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the Atrix HD and the notification light is only working when I reboot the system, then once the system is on, the notification light no longer works. My original Atrix has a settings option to turn the notification light on/off, but the Atrix HD has no such settings option which was in the 'display' settings on my original Atrix. I then tried the 3rd party apps, such as Light flow, and LED tester etc... none work, even though Light flow overrides the phone settings its still not functioning. I even went through and rebooted the phone, and also w/a technician on the phone and the same thing. the notification light will blink green during system reboot, but after that, it ceases to function. This seems trivial but it's a huge help when im working w/all the msgs I get to determine if I get an important msg or not and one of the reasons I stuck with the motorola line. i've checked hundreds of forums, and spoke to various tech supports, and I cant seem to get a answer that works.

View 11 Replies View Relatedi get a voicemail and will use the notification bar voicemail notification to dial and listen to my voicemail, It will dial and connect and play my voicemail, but while in this call: I can slide up and down the notifcation bar, but any other input is simply ignored. The 4 home buttons on the bottom work, the finger print reader works but I can't select power off, I can't hangup the call since all main screen input is simply ignored. Once the voicemail call times out due to no input, and disconnects the call, the phone turns back to normal operations: I can select apps, widgets on the main portion of the screen. When I simply go to the dialer and select the voicemail entry in my phonebook or hold down the '1' key, the phone will call my voicemail and I can do/use all functions.

The phone at preset has exactly two SMS messges showing in handcent and is displaying about 15 emails in the gmail applet. I am sure I am missing something.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI've recently upgraded to an LG G3 S and have been playing around with it, but am having trouble changing the LED notification colour to anything other than red!
To begin with I wasn't gettting any LED notification lights at all, so I installed Light Flow (and also tried Light Manager) and this allowed me to receive LED notifications for missed Calls, Text's, etc. But I'm unable to change the LED light colour to anything other than red using these APP's. How to get a different colour LED working for them or if it's a known quirk?
If I send myself an email from my computer to my phone I get it in a minute, but without any notification other than the LED. No sound even though I have the notification sound on in settings and the volume up.
Sending an email is another story. The phone says it is sending it, but last night I ended up going to bed after a couple hours without having received two emails going from my phone to my computer, both with pics. This morning I had finally received the emails and the funny thing was, the sent time would have been correct, even though my computer did not actually receive them at that time. They must have been in At&t limbo for a couple hours???
This morning same thing. I took a pic, sent it to my computer, and upon opening Gmail it says it is sending (in red), but I'm simply not getting it. Is this a phone problem or an At&t problem? It's a bad problem, I'll tell you that. I can't be waiting a couple hours for someone to receive an email.
In the meantime, I'm going to send myself an email without a pic and see if that goes through right away.
In my motor blur account i have several email accounts but only one make a sound when it come in. Is there away to kill the sound for that email come in without turn off the sound on the phone it is yahoo.com email my other email donot make sound and only show in my notification when drop the screen.

On one of the phones, the led notification does not work when emails are received. On the other phone, the led notification works fine.
I see no way to turn it on or off in system settings.
I made a mistake, well now it feels like a mistake, of installing light flow led controller on my Atrix 2 and it was a complete fail. So I uninstalled the app and now the LED notification light does not blink when it is in screen off mode. It blinks twice when you lock it, then the notifications stop. HELP! How do I reset the green notification flash?
