Oct 17, 2011I recently upgraded to GB, lost all my phone numbers in my contacts, but thankfully the special app worked and I retrieved them. I want to sync with gmail, but I must of choose the wrong default option, when you add a new one, it asks you gmail or motoblur, always use this choice.
I added a contact and it looks like its a motoblur contact, when I go into accounts motoblur has a lock symbol next to it (odd).
anyhow to the questions:
1) How do I change add contacts to use gmail, now that I do not have a choice when adding new contacts.
2) Is there a qucik guide to remote wipe.
3) Someone mentioned they used motoblur to find their phone, how can I do that?
4) How often does my contacts/books etc sync with gmail, can you increase/decrease it?
Motorola Atrix 2 :: Email Not Sending/no Notification Sound
Oct 26, 2011If I send myself an email from my computer to my phone I get it in a minute, but without any notification other than the LED. No sound even though I have the notification sound on in settings and the volume up.
Sending an email is another story. The phone says it is sending it, but last night I ended up going to bed after a couple hours without having received two emails going from my phone to my computer, both with pics. This morning I had finally received the emails and the funny thing was, the sent time would have been correct, even though my computer did not actually receive them at that time. They must have been in At&t limbo for a couple hours???
This morning same thing. I took a pic, sent it to my computer, and upon opening Gmail it says it is sending (in red), but I'm simply not getting it. Is this a phone problem or an At&t problem? It's a bad problem, I'll tell you that. I can't be waiting a couple hours for someone to receive an email.
In the meantime, I'm going to send myself an email without a pic and see if that goes through right away.

Is there away to kill the sound for that email come in without turn off the sound on the phone it is yahoo.com email my other email donot make sound and only show in my notification when drop the screen.

You currently have an action that will change the ringtone, so this should not be much different in coding. Please do this quickly or else I will have to develop a seperate app just to handle the notification change based on criteria, when it would make more sense just to have you integrate it into your application.

Dec 8, 2012with the JB update, using either the lockscreen or power-buttion sound on/off toggle, could have sworn that it would turn off the Ringer AND Notificatiuon sounds to quickly put the phone into vibrate mode for the two sounds. Thought that ICS had both go to vibrate.
Is this by design or glitch?. I'm forced to go to sounds and put the Notification all the way down to achieve my quieting the phone when I need to.

I had to rebuild my media library to get rid of some "ghost " image thumbnails in the gallery. I deleted all data associated with Media Storage and rebooted.
This totally hosed up my Ring/Notification tones. Why should a rebuild of the media library make a difference?

Jul 2, 2010OK, after some investigation I found out all about changing sounds: email notifications, phone calls, SMS, etc. etc. But I've discovered that my SMS sound will not change. Phone sounds, email notifications, pretty much everything else sticks with no problem.
But SMS notifications WILL NOT change from. . .Sanguine, is it? I mean I can go into the profile edit section and PHYSICALLY change it with the drop down menus, and when I go back there the selection is as I left it, but no matter what that drop down menu has saved, the SAME sound plays for SMS notifications.
It might be worth mentioning that I briefly tried SMSCrunch, and the sound for SMS notification there was Gung **, which I liked and wanted to keep after I uninstalled SMSCrunch. Now, Gung ** will play as a preview when editing, but again, the only sound I get for SMS notifications is Sanguine.

HOWEVER, it will not play that sound. no matter what i do it plays the little bike bell. Apr 19, 2011All the birthdays in my gmail contacts were originally working fine on my Atrix.However since the update they do not sync properly. If I add a new contact the birthday doesn't show and if I change the birthday of an existing contact the birthday disappears on the Atrix. They dates show on the contact information but do not appear on the calendar.In addition, if I change or enter a birthday for a contact using the phone it always changes the entry to the previous day after I hit the SAVE button. For example, change a contact's birthday to April 1 and after saving it shows March 31 (which is what gets synced back to google). It doesn't show up on the calender under either date however.
