View 1 RepliesSo when I first got the phone, I managed to change my Notification tone from one thing to another. Now I just added a new tone that I downloaded, and I put it onto my phone. I set that new one as my CURRENT tone, but when people txt me, the tone is STILL the same as the one I set before... Even when I try a different ringtone that was on my phone, it still doesn't work...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 5.0 kernel 3.4.0. I use a stock sound (knock) for all notifications but at what seems like random intervals it will switch on its own to "Pure Tone"...a sound which isn't even an option for me to choose as a notification sound.
"Pure Tone" continues to play until the offending notification is acknowledged. What is causing this to reset and how do I make it stop?
Maybe I am going blind but I cannot find anyway to change the notification tone just for Gmail. know I can in the non Gmail email app.I just want to know by the tone what email account has received email without looking.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI noticed with the update to 4.4.3 when you change the default notification tone to none, hangout's notification then defaults to hangouts notification rather than no notification. I'm not sure if this effects all apps. On 4.4.2 it would just be silent. I had to add a silence notification to my sdcard internal memory to have a silent notification.

would like to request a feature. Will you please add as an action in Smart Actions the ability to change the notification sound. You currently have an action that will change the ringtone, so this should not be much different in coding. Please do this quickly or else I will have to develop a seperate app just to handle the notification change based on criteria, when it would make more sense just to have you integrate it into your application.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOK, after some investigation I found out all about changing sounds: email notifications, phone calls, SMS, etc. etc. But I've discovered that my SMS sound will not change. Phone sounds, email notifications, pretty much everything else sticks with no problem.
But SMS notifications WILL NOT change from. . .Sanguine, is it? I mean I can go into the profile edit section and PHYSICALLY change it with the drop down menus, and when I go back there the selection is as I left it, but no matter what that drop down menu has saved, the SAME sound plays for SMS notifications.
It might be worth mentioning that I briefly tried SMSCrunch, and the sound for SMS notification there was Gung **, which I liked and wanted to keep after I uninstalled SMSCrunch. Now, Gung ** will play as a preview when editing, but again, the only sound I get for SMS notifications is Sanguine.
Ever since Lollipop upgrade I see many issues with my Xperia Z2. But most of all that makes me mad is that the upgrade changed my notification sounds I had customized. not only that now I can not select my favorite sounds for specific notification. can only get sounds and ringtones that are on Lollipop by default.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIt's a really basic thing, i go into sounds and notifications, ringtones and sounds, email, tap on the email address i want to set, i change the notification sound to what i want, i hear the preview and i'm done. HOWEVER, it will not play that sound. no matter what i do it plays the little bike bell. I've tried to change it directly from email settings, no matter what i do the sound wont change and it wont vibrate. ringtone for phone and text, and everything else changes fine. just not email. i've rebooted, and cleaned cache partition.

I'd like to change this sound, but when I go to Settings > Sound > Notification Ringtone, the sound that is checked under this option is the sound that I receive for text messages. Where would I change the ringtone for email?
View 3 Replies View Relatedwith the JB update, using either the lockscreen or power-buttion sound on/off toggle, could have sworn that it would turn off the Ringer AND Notificatiuon sounds to quickly put the phone into vibrate mode for the two sounds. Thought that ICS had both go to vibrate.
Is this by design or glitch?. I'm forced to go to sounds and put the Notification all the way down to achieve my quieting the phone when I need to.

Can this be done in the default Messaging+ app, and if not, is there an alternative?
