I noticed with the update to 4.4.3 when you change the default notification tone to none, hangout's notification then defaults to hangouts notification rather than no notification. I'm not sure if this effects all apps. On 4.4.2 it would just be silent. I had to add a silence notification to my sdcard internal memory to have a silent notification.

In settings, the only choice I see is Hangouts, although I've installed Textra, Chomp SMS, 8sms, etc.

Randomly, my default ring tone, messenger notification, or gmail notification will change, either to no tone, or just a single repeating beep. When I check the settings, the selected sound ends up being a 5 digit number. For example, my messenger tone is now 53918, no sound plays. Annoyingly for messanger, it will change the notification for all my conversations to 53918. So even if I change the default, all active conversations keep the "number sound."

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have the S6 and was setting up Message+ as my default SMS/MMS app, when I attempted to change the notification tone. The dialogue box popped up and asked me if I wanted to use Zedge or Media Storage. Since I only have one tone in Zedge right now, I chose Media Storage. This is where it went wrong...instead of hitting "Just Once" as the option, I hit "Always". Now, every time I want to change the notification tone, I can only pick from the default Media Storage options. I want the bring back the option to be able to chose from either Zedge or Media Storage.

I also have a ring tone that I downloaded (not the default).I noticed that when the phone is in the holster and it rings, as soon as I take it out from the holster the ring tonne changes from the one I set up to the default AT&T ring tone.

Basically, when a user dials my number, it rings on their end a few times, and whilst it rings on their side I can see the incoming call displayed on my phone however my phone only starts to play the ringtone after about 3 or 4 rings. This happens no matter what ringtone I choose, and I have increasing ringtone disabled.
I'm not sure if I said all of that right, but I hope you understand. This issue has only been happening when my Wifi is switched on. Currently using, CyanogenMod12 nightly.
I've changed the SIM card, and still it persists. The sim card works fine in other phones.
So I go into the android calendar to setup an appointment. The default reminder is a notification (just a popup on my phone). I have to click on the reminder each time and change it to Email. Is there a way I can change the default option to email instead?

I have a Nexus 5 running Android 5.0. I have two email accounts through my ISP. I set up both accounts set to "Delete from server" "Never". The alternative is "Delete from server" "When deleted from inbox."
When I get an email on my Nexus 5, if I delete it, it is gone from the server and when I log onto my computer at home I have no email. If I let the emails sit on my Nexus 5, download them to my inbox at home, then I can delete them from the Nexus 5 without losing them.The default seems to be to delete the message from the server when it's deleted from the inbox whether you choose "Never" or not.

I tried setting up Google voice and can't figure that out. I can call *86 and retrieve my voicemail. It just never notifies me it's there.
