I bought an N5 a month ago. At first the notifications were expanded by default ,but now i have to drag them down from the left corner to expand. How do i enable expanded notifications again?

I noticed after the update, the email notifications in the curtain are always auto expanded now...
Also a couple of other things while I'm here... I do have the contact pic bug, by double tapping home and closing it out fixes it though..
"developer options" are not in this device, an app that will keep the screen on while charging now?? I miss that option..
My Nexus 5, with default Google Keyboard, has stopped showing word suggestions. It used to work but doesn't anymore. The keyboard is not set to the same language as the system language.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm now getting repeated notifications on my Nexus 5 (Android 5.0.1) about how Google+ (version 4.8.0.81189390) has backed up my photos. The same photos. Over and over and over again. It didn't do this in previous versions. I don't know if this is a Nexus problem, a Lollipop problem, or a Google+ app problem. But, how I get it to stop?

But I'd like to hid the notification bar until I swipe down from the top.
I use the default Calendar app on my S5 with several Gmail accounts, all which have default reminder settings. None of those accounts will use my default for calendar reminders, even after Syncing and rebooting. I've gone into my phone settings and searched for Notification, Reminder and Calendar and none of those settings have default reminders. I can only select to enable to disable these options.

I usually reply just once, but then I accidentally clicked 'every time'. Now I want to change the app that I use, but now I don't get the choice. How can I restore that dialogue giving me the choice?

When I get an email on my Nexus 5, if I delete it, it is gone from the server and when I log onto my computer at home I have no email. If I let the emails sit on my Nexus 5, download them to my inbox at home, then I can delete them from the Nexus 5 without losing them.The default seems to be to delete the message from the server when it's deleted from the inbox whether you choose "Never" or not.
my new Nexus 6, but I'm noticing an issue with my custom notification ringtones or sounds. I have a custom Ringtone for my Calls, that plays fine, but the Notifications for my Voicemail and Texts is not playing or Plays once the first time, then defaults back to the barely audible notification sound on the N6.
I wiped cache partition and did a factory reset before setting up the phone after the final OTA of 6.0 the day I received the phone. I'm going to try to wipe Cache Partition once again, because I saw in another Notification thread to try it.

For some reason when a whatsapp pop up comes up on the locked screen and i press view it doesn't open up the lock screen, i have to press view and then manually unlock the phone. This doesn't happen when i get an sms pop up. Why is this? i played with every setting possible.
Also, when i watch a youtube video and get a whatsapp or sms notification it stops the video. This didn't happen on iphone and was wondering if ther is a way to change it.
No notifications from gmail. just had a lg g3 no problems. soon as i sign in i get no gmail notifications, but i open the app and i have new mail about a dozen or so. sync is set up and on but nothing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed with the update to 4.4.3 when you change the default notification tone to none, hangout's notification then defaults to hangouts notification rather than no notification. I'm not sure if this effects all apps. On 4.4.2 it would just be silent. I had to add a silence notification to my sdcard internal memory to have a silent notification.

Because like for example i have to run Skype all the time and the phone is asleep and on wifi i wake it up Skype status icon appears Offline and after 5 seconds being awake the status icon turn Online. View 6 Replies View RelatedI've replaced Hangouts with Textra. Seems to be a good choice. Only thing that bugs me is the notifications give you no information other than you've received a text. You have to unlock the phone then open Textra and find the message. It's a bit ordinary.
I tried Slidelock and NiLS but wasn't too fussed on either, though maybe I didn't set them up properly. NiLS was particularly annoying, with the notifications interfering with the lock screen operation. Slidelock was just plain buggy.

My question is... Can I customize the notifications that show up in the ambient display?
In other words... I want all notifications at the top of the home screen, just like always... but I only want text messages to show up on the ambient display. Not every piece of junk mail I receive, or ebay notices, etc.
I am about to just turn it off, but am hoping I can get it to only show SMS (texts).
