Maybe I am going blind but I cannot find anyway to change the notification tone just for Gmail. know I can in the non Gmail email app.I just want to know by the tone what email account has received email without looking.

Fortunately the phone was under warranty, but I lost all dataMy phone got upgraded to ICS. All was well for a week, now wht has happened is , that the phone hangs, most apps I open, hang and all though all messages are read it shows unread 1, also the message notification sound has gone although I receive notification sound for all the other things, like whtsapp, gmail, gtalk etc.

I use a stock sound (knock) for all notifications but at what seems like random intervals it will switch on its own to "Pure Tone"...a sound which isn't even an option for me to choose as a notification sound.
"Pure Tone" continues to play until the offending notification is acknowledged. What is causing this to reset and how do I make it stop?

Now I just added a new tone that I downloaded, and I put it onto my phone. I set that new one as my CURRENT tone, but when people txt me, the tone is STILL the same as the one I set before... Even when I try a different ringtone that was on my phone, it still doesn't work...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI noticed with the update to 4.4.3 when you change the default notification tone to none, hangout's notification then defaults to hangouts notification rather than no notification. I'm not sure if this effects all apps. On 4.4.2 it would just be silent. I had to add a silence notification to my sdcard internal memory to have a silent notification.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my un-locked S2 for over a year now and due to inactivity on the registered gmail account I am no longer able to use my phone for navigation or anything else that looks for me to be logged into my gmail account before proceeding.
I've searched for any answer that would avoid the "recommended" restore to factory defaults (which deletes all my apps, photos, etc). I found one reasonable "work around" which required running the root explorer APK, which I installed and ran only to get the message "application closed unexpectedly". Perhaps my phone has to be "rooted" to use this apk or it is simply corrupted.
Can anyone recommend a way to save all my data but change the "primary gmail" account? I could root the phone, if necessary but would like ideas before going that far afield.

View 10 Replies View Relatedi have the S6 and was setting up Message+ as my default SMS/MMS app, when I attempted to change the notification tone. The dialogue box popped up and asked me if I wanted to use Zedge or Media Storage. Since I only have one tone in Zedge right now, I chose Media Storage. This is where it went wrong...instead of hitting "Just Once" as the option, I hit "Always". Now, every time I want to change the notification tone, I can only pick from the default Media Storage options. I want the bring back the option to be able to chose from either Zedge or Media Storage.

I still get the notification in the top left hand corner that the message has been received, I still have sound with incoming ringtone and my alarm sound is still working.I went into settings - sound - volume and it looks good.I went into messages - settings - select ringtone and it looks good.i received a text message and had sound and then downloaded an application and the next text message I received the sound had gone. Not getting notification badges for Gmail? My Hotmail thru Samsungs stock email app receives them, but curiously nothing I do will make Gmail display them. Yes I have notifications turned on for the app and Gmail sync is turned on under Accounts. not sure what else I need to enable.

He managed to get all of his contacts from his iPhone onto his PC, gmail recognizes all 1715 contacts! He synced his Samsung with gmail yet his phone only picked up 1406 contacts. Where are the other 300? They are contacts that he uses everyday like mine, and friends. But they have disappeared between gmail and the phone.
