Not getting notification badges for Gmail? My Hotmail thru Samsungs stock email app receives them, but curiously nothing I do will make Gmail display them. Yes I have notifications turned on for the app and Gmail sync is turned on under Accounts. not sure what else I need to enable.
Does the gmail app not use a badge to tell me how many unread emails I have? My other mail apps I tried did, messages does, and facebook too...is this a setting I can change?
When I have a new message, The notification only shows in the notification bar on top of the screen... How can I get the little red notification badge on the actual app icon?
I don't want to download another launcher, just maybe a notification app that will give me what I need..
I do not want this yelllow bubble with the number 8 to show up whenever I receive messages. How can I hide it or at least lock whatsapp so that only I can use it?
Some apps, such as SMS Facebook and email, have a yellow notification badge on its app icon. Â What takes to enable the badge for other apps? Â such as Whatsapp ....
Whenever I get mail I get a pop-up screen alerting me I have new mail. It's getting annoying. I can't do anything til I close it. Can I get rid of it? Just get sound & icon on notification bar?
I just recently bought a Samsung S5 Neo and I have the gmail widget in my home screen. Every time I get a new email I get a notification (sound) but on the widget itself there's no number that indicates I have new mail. If I don't see it I forget I have an email.
Maybe I am going blind but I cannot find anyway to change the notification tone just for Gmail. know I can in the non Gmail email app.I just want to know by the tone what email account has received email without looking.
Since I did the new update, it's just displaying the badge icon circle (bubble) on the app, but no unread count. With e-mail and facebook I noticed it so far.
When I restart my phone it works, but then anything new after I delete those messages, it just goes back to no display count and a white bubble.
After I updated to android 5.1.1 on my S6 edge Ive lost my badge app icon aka notification count for whats app textra and other apps that used to show notification counts on them prior to the update ( android 5.0.2). I am using the normal touchwiz launcehr that came with my phone. I have used it as well before the update.
I am using a G4 H815 and recently I noticed that the Gmail app (yes, official) sometimes only notifies me about new inbox mails a few minutes after they were received, usually 1-3 minutes. I didn't notice this issue until yesterday when I placed my G4 with my Nexus pad side by side and Nexus always notifies me *instantly*, by which I mean if I open a web browser on my computer and compose an email to my gmail account and hit the send button, in less than a second the Nexus will beep, while G4 only tells me this new email after a few minutes.
It is not the notification sound issue, then phone simply sits there without telling me anything until a few minutes have passed. And I also noticed that if I keep my phone alive by using it, then the delay between email incoming and notification is significantly shorter most of the time.
Gmail been broken for the past few days. A song plays every time I get a email and I can't stop it. Byond frustrating. How can I set gmail notification to be different?
i have 5.0.0.405 installed on my 9700.i added my gmail account using the email setup on the phone. whenever i get a new email to my gmail account, the notification icon doesn't have the red star on the yellow envelope. i don't get this behavior with my hotmail account. anyone know what is going on?
Somewhere along the way I lost the "Reply, Delete" and body of messages in my notification window(just have a single height notification). I've uninstalled anything notification related, and reset Gmail back to factory, but haven't had any luck.
It seems the only time I get notified of a new email is when I refresh my Gmail account. It does not happen automatically. Is there a setting I'm missing to have all new emails sent to my phone with a notification without having to refresh my Gmail account manually?
I've set my gmail account as the default mail-account on my x10 mini pro, but the phone doesn't seem to reteive the mails automatically. I thought that when I set the sync-schedule to once an hour, then the phone would check my gmailaccount for new mails and notify me. I've tested this and the only time I get a notification is when I manually tell the phones mail-client to sync. Am I just a stupid user that donät know how to work the phone, or do I have to set up a sync-schedule for gmail?
In my neo v, gmail is not showing new mails in notification bar but email notification is enabled in gmail settings. Checked after mecafee uninstallaed, still facing the same issue..
I just got the Z2 after struggling for a while with an ageing and annoying phone, and in general I'm pretty happy with it. Â But I have a problem with gmail notifications, and it's hard to find info on this on the web because it just turns up a lot of stuff about the notification sounds, which is not my issue. Â I have three gmail accounts, two private and one for work. With all my previous phones, when I had mail incoming, I'd get one notification icon in the status bar per account. So if I had unread mail in all three accounts, I'd three gmail icons in the notification bar. Â The Z2 seems to lump them all together, and I only get one single icon regardless of how many accounts have unread email. I find this quite annoying and not something I expected at ALL. (Even my first very crummy internet-capable phone did multiple notifications.) Is this a bug, or is there a way to change a setting?
i like to add the birthdays to my contact list, and even though I've unchecked the box for syncing the calendar, bdays still show up when i add a new contact.
I love that Motorola has built in unread counts to certain icons (email, text message, hone, calendar, etc.) but I noticed that there isn't an unread count for the gmail icon. Was this done on purpose? Or am I missing a settings option where I can turn this on?Also, I don't know if the calendar app on Moto phones did this before, but it's a nice touch that the icon changes with the current date.
i have an gmail acount. every time i recive an email i'm not notified.not even in notification. is there some configuration do do? is it possible to be alerted?
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing the same thing I am. I will do my best to explain what exactly happens. When the sms app is "running in the background" and I receive a new text the blue circle icon does not pop up next to the new text and the contact that I received the new text from doesn't shoot up to the top of the list on the main sms page. If I then manually go into that text it will update but the badge on the home screen sms icon will be stuck and will keep going up for every new text I receive. Also the number next to the word Messages on the main sms page will consistently show (1) next to it no matter how many texts I have received. The only way to temporarily fix the issue is to go to the multitasking menu and close the sms app and then re-open it. Once I do that all the texts that I received prior to closing it will then be updated with the blue icon next to it and then can be marked as read.
I tried to search but was unable to find anything similar to my issue. I did read somewhere that having the phone jailbroken and using an app like bite sms can screw up your sms count. I was using bite prior to updating to iOS4. The reason I feel like that wasn't the cause is due to the fact that it happens to every single text I receive. It is not an issue that is linked to receiving texts from one particular person.
Im wondering how are some people showing Live weather on their APPS as a badge? Their also using The Weather Channel APP to do it.I saw pics in the Jailbroken Home screen thread.. But didnt get an answer there as people are busy looking at pictures.. I thought they were using CurrentTemp.. but thats not it because the icon is actually The Weather Channel and it has a badge with the temperature on it..
Can anyone tell me? Or what are some other ways of showing live weather on the lockscren/homescreen without using Lock Info.
Do we know how iPhone OS 4 will handle apps that are lumped into folders and have badge icons (via push notifications or otherwise)?I'm hoping there will be an option for the folder to have its own badge icon that sums all the badge icons in the folder. It would be nice to lump applications that get badge notifications into one folder. This would at least provide some form of notification management until Apple solves the problem. Granted this won't work for applications that use the badge icons for things like temperature.
everytime i manually or automatically in the background my apps updated, i used to see a blue dot badge next to the apps which have just been updated but now i dont see these. I have tested this on 3 different devices and still i dont see the blue dot.
