Motorola Droid Turbo :: No More Gmail Notifications / Refreshes?
Mar 5, 2015My Turbo has, for some reason, halted all Gmail related activity. As of this morning all was well. As of the last few hours, all is NOT well.
I no longer:
hear my chosen (or ANY) notification sound upon delivery
receive the on-screen notification via Moto Display (when screen is dark)
receive the on-screen notification in my notification bar
see the unread mail count (TeslaUnread Plugin) on the Gmail app icon
receive new email messages automatically PERIOD.
The only way I can know I have a new message in my inbox is if I open the Gmail app and click to manually refresh!
My Turbo did download and apply two app updates today: Golden Glass Icon Pack HD and Motorola Camera. I find it highly unlikely, but are one of these responsible?
I still do not know this phone I inside and out.. so any areas or settings to check (and how to check them) that you believe may be causing my Gmail Meltdown!!

Jun 4, 2015Using inbox. I started using this app a few weeks ago. I delete an email, it goes to the trash. How do you empty the trash? If i long press on the email it comes up with a trash can. Don't press that because it just moves it back to the inbox. Not sure how this works.

Jul 4, 2015I installed 5.1 without issues but I have noticed what appears to be a bug with voicemail. I had a voicemail left for me, listened to it, and deleted it yet the icon persistently shows up in the notification bar. I also have no voicemails in Google Voice. I can clear it in Settings>Apps but it reappears every time I start the phone. I have rebooted the phone, and cleared the cache partition to no effect.

Oct 13, 2015I've like to try Android Pay. So I set everything up and turned on NFC in Advanced settings, as well as the Android Pay setting. However, I don't see the NFC icon. Did the is icon go away with the Lollipop update? What am I missing. I tried using Android Pay at the grocery store today and it did not register with the POS terminal.

Jul 9, 2015So on kitkat i had the voicemail icon stuck. i use google voice, and i think this is just a standard verizon voicemail icon. I've checked and there are no new voicemails.
I figured when i upgraded to lollipop it would go away. well guess what, it didn't. so i did a factory reset, and now it's back.
I found that by deleting the data and wiping the cache on one of the 4 phone apps, i'm able to get rid of it, but then when i reset the device it comes back.

Nov 3, 2012I love that Motorola has built in unread counts to certain icons (email, text message, hone, calendar, etc.) but I noticed that there isn't an unread count for the gmail icon.Was this done on purpose? Or am I missing a settings option where I can turn this on?Also, I don't know if the calendar app on Moto phones did this before, but it's a nice touch that the icon changes with the current date.

Jun 1, 2015Not getting notification badges for Gmail? My Hotmail thru Samsungs stock email app receives them, but curiously nothing I do will make Gmail display them. Yes I have notifications turned on for the app and Gmail sync is turned on under Accounts. not sure what else I need to enable.

If I press the lock button myself, the phone will lock and stay black with the time. If I unlock my phone and let it be, it'll turn to the rainbow colors. I have my phone on the turbo charger when this happens!

Aug 18, 2015Since I did the new update, it's just displaying the badge icon circle (bubble) on the app, but no unread count. With e-mail and facebook I noticed it so far.
When I restart my phone it works, but then anything new after I delete those messages, it just goes back to no display count and a white bubble.

Sep 26, 2015I want to take full advantage of HD video camera on my Droid Turbo, and found an external lavalier lapel microphone (Audio Technica 3350iS, which comes with an adapter for "smartphones including iPhone and newer Android phones"). But even when I use the adapter, the video recorder will only use the phone's on board mic. How can I disable/mute the onboard mic? Scoured the interweb, and at one point there was a perfect app "Mute Mic", but the NSA or Google or Motorola decided it was too useful to live.

Sep 22, 2015Any way to increase (and maintain) a louder volume from the speaker while using speakerphone or Bluetooth speaker? My Maxx was awesome!! I thought for sure when I got the Turbo it would be equivalent.
I often find myself disappointed in the output. The really strange part is that I swear that it changes somehow. One phone call on speakerphone is great. Same number calls back later and not so much! I didn't change anything. I then try to increase my volume to no avail. My Bluetooth does that as well watching a YouTube video. I can start the video nice and loud. Stop it for a bit to return later and I can't hear the dang thing.
I use all factory Android software without any additional apps, etc. for volume controls. All levels are set to high. No droppage or any damage to the speaker or phone.
Motorola Droid Turbo :: Vibration Alerts Gone
Jan 19, 2016I used to be able to just use the side volume control and turn it all down and it would mute the ringer but allow notifications for texts and emails. That, suddenly has gone. I have tried everything I can think of to do. Setting priorities does nothing. The moment that the ringer turns off, the vibration icon grays out. I get it back if I turn the ringer to its lowest setting but I do not want that. At work, having just the vibration running for calls and texts was perfect.

May 8, 2015Over the last couple nights I've noticed that my Turbo won't charge overnight. I often read or play games before bed and it seems if I have a few apps open and then plug it in it won't charge. If I close all the apps down then I've never had a problem.
I've also noticed it freezing up at times and then rebooting by itself if I don't close open apps.
The phone is great and at this point I don't care about Lollipop. We've had 2 S5 go bad with Lollipop and until they get the bugs all worked out I'll keep munchin the kitkat.
