In the "people" icon that lists your contacts in the address book:
1. What do the different colored boxes with the initial on it represent?
2. Can you turn off this colored box feature? i know that you can do it in gmail but how about the address "people" book?
I have S'ony Xperia X8. The address book icon desappear of the screen corner (emails/music/numbers and address book). How can I put it in that place again?

View 3 Replies View RelatedDroid X was 2.2 (Froyo) - paired beautifully with my car's bluetooth - Address Book - display names and phone numbers perfectly.On Friday , August 5, 2011, I selected to upgrade to 2.3 (Gingerbread).Everything seemed perfect.New bells, new whistles.I received error message trying to text. I received unexplained promblems seeking access to the internet. I tried calling home and the error message surprised me. I was no longer active. I needed to contact Verizon to reactivate my phone. I asked why my phone was deactivated. I was assured my phone was not deactivated and was walked thru a "re-activation process". I have now done this twice in the past 5 days.My car's bluetooth has alos allowed me to viewed the phone address book by "name' of my telephone number, including the telephone number.First name, last name and telephone number. So, while driving, bluetooth enabled, select the name of the person I want to call, push the button and viola!... hands free calling via my car's bluetooth.Now that I have upgraded... No "name' is listed, only the telephone numbers. I met with my local Verizon sales support person. He was stumped.We deleted the pairing, reinstalled the pairing 3 times. Still no address book by "name"... Stumped.

I also have a Google Apps account for which I only sync Google Drive, so that I have access to my Google Drive at work. However, everyone in my exchange Active Directory has a duplicate account in Google Apps.
In my google apps account settings, I have contacts and Gmail set to never sync. Sync is off. However, whenever I am typing an address in my email app for exchange, all of me Google Apps Active Directory email addresses also come up, which is problematic because they are all duplicates of the exchange email addresses, since the directories are linked.
How the heck do I get rid of the gmail badge icons I actually don't want that....
View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed 5.1 without issues but I have noticed what appears to be a bug with voicemail. I had a voicemail left for me, listened to it, and deleted it yet the icon persistently shows up in the notification bar. I also have no voicemails in Google Voice. I can clear it in Settings>Apps but it reappears every time I start the phone. I have rebooted the phone, and cleared the cache partition to no effect.

Did the is icon go away with the Lollipop update? What am I missing. I tried using Android Pay at the grocery store today and it did not register with the POS terminal.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo on kitkat i had the voicemail icon stuck. i use google voice, and i think this is just a standard verizon voicemail icon. I've checked and there are no new voicemails.
I figured when i upgraded to lollipop it would go away. well guess what, it didn't. so i did a factory reset, and now it's back.
I found that by deleting the data and wiping the cache on one of the 4 phone apps, i'm able to get rid of it, but then when i reset the device it comes back.
My phone says its connected to wifi but it does not act like it is.

If I press the lock button myself, the phone will lock and stay black with the time. If I unlock my phone and let it be, it'll turn to the rainbow colors. I have my phone on the turbo charger when this happens!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to create a sub folder in my address book & now I can't find my original add book. The add book icon is still there, but there are no contacts in it. The best i remember i hit filter and chose business & typed in a name for what i thought would be a new folder or group. i'm not sure what happened, but I can't see any of my contacts. I have switched from personl to business & back again & it says "no contacts" on both. But if I go to email & put in a letter all of my old contacts that begin with that letter show up. & my speed dials still work. But if i go to sms/mms & do compose sms it shows "No Addresses"....well I spoke too soon...now if i go to email & type in a letter it don't show a list of ppl that begin with that letter.... I have tried taking the battery out with the phone off & on & it's still the same....

View 7 Replies View Relatedso I entered my Facebook account to Motoblur and it loads all my contacts to the adddress book. Not all people have their numbers/pictures on facebook so I also imported contacts to google and they appear. But this is where the problems start:
Number 1:
There is a linked contact consisting of Facebook and Google. Since the facebook account has no picture I went to Edit- > Use existing photo -> chose one -> save. It adds the picture but after I click save it is gone. I assume the problem is that I chose facebook as my primary picture source in Motoblur. But how can I add a custom picture instead?
Number 2:
I have a Google profile let's say "Josef Biden" but as he wants to keep some privacy he calls him self "Josef Doe" on facebook. But no matter if I choose "Josef Biden" and link it to "Josef Doe" or if I choose "Josef Doe" and link it to "Josef Biden", the final contact will be the facebook one "Josef Doe". Obviously that's not his name, how can I change this and make the right name win?
Does any one know of a way to sync my Thunderbird Contact list with my Addressbook of my Cliq? Be it a program on the computer or a site/addon for thunderbird/app for the phone (second way is prefered). I would rather not use gmail address book as my gmail account address book is messed up and I never use gmail (mail side) for any email so there is no reason to clean up that disastor.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI inadvertently activated the AT&T address book when I first got the Atrix 2..not knowing that I even had an AT&T address book account.I called AT&T and they deleted the account and any associated contacts with it on their end,however, they had no clue how to remove the account from the phone and said it was a Motorola issue.I deleted all contacts off my phone and now my contacts are just synced with Google(all AT&T address book contacts are gone) but the option to sync with AT&T address book is still an option in settings.The account shows up with a "locked" symbol next to it.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI had an EVO. it synced all my facebook contacts with my phonebook contacts. So i could look at pics and statuses from my phonebook. Im assuming this phonebook doesnt work that way. it added facebook contacts before i got to add my real contact list. so now there are doubles of some ppl . and some of my contacts that dont have their phone #'s on fb, i cant link them to my contacts like the EVO would. Also, some contacts that i had linked to facebook show up now with a NOTE under them with a HTClink:for their facebook. (if you can understand that) Also the contacts that say they do have a facebook. when i click go to their page. its just goes to mine. so the links must be screwed up.

I like my E72 but I have two problems that really annoy me.
1. In the past when ever I would write a new email I would get list of suggested email addresses in the "To" field. For example, if I would was to write the letter S I would get the email address of the people in my address book whose name starts with an S (sam, Sofia etc). for some reason this feature stopped working on my phone and I can't find how to make it work again. if I want to send an email I need to manually write the email address in the "To" field. The auto suggestion feature works perfectly on my wife's phone (an E72 with the same firmware - 22.007) but on my phone it won't suggest email addresses from my contacts.
2. Another problem is that my Gmail that is synced to the phone, through the Nokia Messenger server is locked on "hide emails older than 2 weeks". Now, I have hundreds of emails stored on my phone that dates to February 1st - the day I got the Phone.
Is there a way to delete these emails automatically, without deleting them on the Gmail account itself? It makes my phone really when going through the emails.

On the Cliq I never had this problem. On the Cliq2 when people update their FB default pictures, it doesn't sync and update them in my address book anymore. Motorola said it should but it doesn't. They offered me a new phone but hello this is my second Cliq2 that it hasn't worked on. Apparently it's not the phone. It's motoblur!
