picture source not updating in their address book/contact list?
On the Cliq I never had this problem. On the Cliq2 when people update their FB default pictures, it doesn't sync and update them in my address book anymore. Motorola said it should but it doesn't. They offered me a new phone but hello this is my second Cliq2 that it hasn't worked on. Apparently it's not the phone. It's motoblur!
I have Facebook set as my picture source....but none of the pictures are coming through on my contact page or the happenings widget.I have deleted my account and re-added twice....turned off my phone and removed the battery, nothing.

Be it a program on the computer or a site/addon for thunderbird/app for the phone (second way is prefered). I would rather not use gmail address book as my gmail account address book is messed up and I never use gmail (mail side) for any email so there is no reason to clean up that disastor.

This past weekend I had downloaded app "handcent".I don't kbnow if it's because of that app that the photos are no longer appearing. In any event I deleted the app. and still have no photos. I contacted T-Mobile and after several trys to syncronize, even deleteing factory settings I still don't have any contact photos.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Cliq xt from T-mobile. I switched to AT&T with unlock code provided by T-Mibile. All works fine except for contact list. I downloaded contacts from SIM and now contact screen is black. Worked fine with T-Mobile. I do not use social network, any idea what causes this. The contacts are in the phone because when i dial a number in my list the name appears on the dial pad, however, contact list is black.
View 1 Replies View Relatedso I entered my Facebook account to Motoblur and it loads all my contacts to the adddress book. Not all people have their numbers/pictures on facebook so I also imported contacts to google and they appear. But this is where the problems start:
Number 1:
There is a linked contact consisting of Facebook and Google. Since the facebook account has no picture I went to Edit- > Use existing photo -> chose one -> save. It adds the picture but after I click save it is gone. I assume the problem is that I chose facebook as my primary picture source in Motoblur. But how can I add a custom picture instead?
Number 2:
I have a Google profile let's say "Josef Biden" but as he wants to keep some privacy he calls him self "Josef Doe" on facebook. But no matter if I choose "Josef Biden" and link it to "Josef Doe" or if I choose "Josef Doe" and link it to "Josef Biden", the final contact will be the facebook one "Josef Doe". Obviously that's not his name, how can I change this and make the right name win?
I just got this phone from someone who upgraded up. If I only want to use it for calls and texting and nothing else, should I update from its current system version 1.6 / Firmware version 1.5?If I wanted to do this manually, are system and firmware updates done separately and where are the download pages to do it manually?There are threads talking about how updates slowed down CLIQ MB200 phones. Do they slow down the basic functions of this phone? I see there are Android platform versions all the way up to 3.2. Is version 2.1 the last version compatible with MB200?Some threads compare updating this phone to installing Windows 7 or Vista on older computers - they would slow down basic functions on them so it's really not worth it to update. Is that comparison true when it comes to this first Android phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 5800 that I have been troubleshooting for the past Month. We have been to the provider who has now replaced the phone twice in the past two months. Calling out appears to be fine. However when customizing the phone I am unable to set picture and a ringtone to a contact in the contact list. The Contact is saved on the phone. When the person dials in the picture will display correctly but the ringtone will play a default ring not a custom file as selected. This has heppened on all 3 of the phones. I am down to the OS of the phone which the provider says is up to date.

Upgraded some applications from BB World (don't know if there is a connection) and tried adding a new contact but this error message appears: Uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_addressbook_app (216) is not responding; process terminated (by the way the two upgrades were for Twitter and BB Messenger)Is it coincidence that I've just installed a couple of upgrades and this has now happened?

Some of the contacts are just copies and some have a facebook name on it. I have tried deleting and reinstalling facebook but the issue is still there. My question is: is there I way I can quickly delete all this duplicate contacts without doing it one by one?

I am using Blackberry Internet Service (BIS).I need to disable the AT&T Address Book contact synchronization feature from my device.Prior to the activation of the AT&T Address Book contact synchronization feature, I was successfully syncing my Google contacts with the Default address book on the device. When I add a new contact to my IPhone 4s Address Book ("Contacts") it sometimes crashes if you enter all the information and tap "done". It doesn't crash if you first enter the first/last name - tap done - open the contact and edit it. After "Contacts" crashes the new entry is not saved.
It is very annoying especially if you are on the go or you ask the person 3 times for their contact details...

I had it in originally, I used a 'skype out' product to export skype contacts to Outlook, then I usefully synced to Outlook, but had a bunch of repeated addresses. Found a solution to delete address book and to reimport from Outlook. Successfully deleted address book on BB. Tires to sync but now it fails to do so. I have reinstall 1, battery, 2, SIM card, 3 desktop program. The synch starts - to be certain- I even go so far as the option to approve the sync or snot. Then it begins to do the syncing and the countdown of addresses yet to by synced clicks downward, as it should, then there's a 'bink' sound, and then nothing, and I check my BB, and no addresses have moved over. I have tried SEVRAL TIMES even 'syncing all' I have arranged for the synch to be for the addresses only. I have arranged for it to be from the computer to the BB. Hopeless. Extremely frustrated.

I am wondering if there is a way to delete contacts from my phone, while keeping them in the address book of my Macbook? I have many contacts that I would like to keep permanently for future use, but am hoping to clean up the contacts on my actual phone. Each time I delete a contact from the iPhone, the contact is simultaneously deleted from my Macbook address book.

Example: I open the contact "Dad" and then link another contact for him "John Doe" and then it will change the name from Dad (which I opened first) to John Doe. Why is it doing that? View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to create a sub folder in my address book & now I can't find my original add book. The add book icon is still there, but there are no contacts in it. The best i remember i hit filter and chose business & typed in a name for what i thought would be a new folder or group. i'm not sure what happened, but I can't see any of my contacts. I have switched from personl to business & back again & it says "no contacts" on both. But if I go to email & put in a letter all of my old contacts that begin with that letter show up. & my speed dials still work. But if i go to sms/mms & do compose sms it shows "No Addresses"....well I spoke too soon...now if i go to email & type in a letter it don't show a list of ppl that begin with that letter.... I have tried taking the battery out with the phone off & on & it's still the same....
