View 3 RepliesI see there are a dozen or so Text Alert Tone options on the S2, but none of them are very loud at full volume. My old Nokia used to make a really loud "dong-dong" whenever a Text arrived, but I'm finding it easy to miss Text arrivals on the S2.

When I go to S planner, I don't see the events on the shared calendar, but when I log in to gmail and go to calendars, they are there.
Is there a way to sync those events on my S6, in the S planner, without having to always log in my gmail and go to calendars to see those events?
Maybe I am going blind but I cannot find anyway to change the notification tone just for Gmail. know I can in the non Gmail email app.I just want to know by the tone what email account has received email without looking.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I have a few contacts, such as Twitter and ESPN that I don't need to hear a tone for each time. I'd like to set their tone to silent, like I had on my iPhone. Is there a way I can do this? Whenever I go into add another field>messaging tone there is no "silent" for me to select.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 5.0 kernel 3.4.0. I use a stock sound (knock) for all notifications but at what seems like random intervals it will switch on its own to "Pure Tone"...a sound which isn't even an option for me to choose as a notification sound.
"Pure Tone" continues to play until the offending notification is acknowledged. What is causing this to reset and how do I make it stop?
is there any way I can make a voice recording into my message tone?

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo, I noticed that when you go to edit contacts, you can customize the "MESSAGE TONE" for each contact you would like. To me, I assumed this meant that if they text you, whatever tone you selected would play. However, this does not appear to be the case. I set my wife to have a custom message tone that I transferred from my PC, however, when she texts me, the default text message noise happens.
Is there no way to customize specific tones for specific contacts? I just want to customize it so, let's say, if I don't have a second to grab my phone instantly, I will know who it is based on what tone that plays.
I'm wondering if it's the default text message program, the VERIZON MESSAGES+, that is not allowing this feature to work properly.
Need getting custom text tones to work? Do I need to download another text app? If so, what one would you recommend? This default VERIZON MESSAGES+ seems a bit bland.
I've noticed since the upgrade to ICS the battery full tone has stopped working. BTW only had the phone a week and the upgrade arrived a day ago. I've also noticed that the stock home switcher is now missing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy S2 is only about four or five months old and I recently started noticing that it is not alerting on text messages anymore. I checked the settings and the obvious stuff such as the volume being on and a ringtone for text notification is set. I just went to unlock my phone and I noticed that the phone did not play the click or pop noise as I hit the keys to unlock the phone. Again, the volume was on....maybe this is a larger issue...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've managed to browse to an online forum (using the Google Search widget, I think!) on my phone - most things work fine, but if I hit "reply" to a forum post the text-box opens, and it even establishes a cursor in there - but my phone's keyboard does not pop up like it usually does if one clicks in a text-box. So I cant insert any text Insert text in forum box? It's a board based forum powered by Moodle, if that makes any difference?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI sent an SMS text message to someone yesterday from the default Messaging app and could thereafter see it sitting there in the "Conversations" list. My phone then ran out of battery and turned itself off overnight after which I've since given it a full recharge. However, that text message I sent has now disappeared from the conversations list and although I can see the start of it under the contact's name in the Contacts app, it responds by telling me it's been deleted when I try to select it. I did see an option in the settings to "Delete Old Messages" which was enabled but given that I had a total of 1 text message on the phone then I assume that was not the culprit.

View 4 Replies View Relatedjust like to say that this is my very first post in this forum. I have been the proud owner of my Samsung Galaxy S II for the past week now. Couple of things to ask that is annoying me a bit though, and just wondering if there's a solution to these. Consider these scenarios:
First one: I receive a text from a friend who says that he has a new number. Because he's in my contacts, I can simply add his number to it. So I open the text, I press the menu key and tap "Add to Contacts". I then find him and tap his name. Usually it appears underneath the rest of the numbers, but because he has Facebook and I've selected to have my friends from there appear in my contacts, it doesn't. Apart from manually typing it in myself, is there a way to add his number?
Secondly: I play some music using the built-in music player (Applications > Music). Once the track starts playing, I press the back button continuously until I reach the home page/idle screen. To go back into it quickly, I pull down the status bar down from the top, and tap the Music panel. From here, how can I go back to a previous screen within the Music player to select a playlist, switch to a new artist, etc? The back button this time returns you to the home/idle screen. The list button just shows the current playlist that is being played. What would be good is to see that scrolling menu at the top again.
I had some GSYNC APP, but it kept timing out.... MOBILEDIT claim when you buy it, you get the phone copier included and it can do this..
