Samsung Galaxy S II :: SMS Text Message Deleted Itself?
Nov 12, 2011
I sent an SMS text message to someone yesterday from the default Messaging app and could thereafter see it sitting there in the "Conversations" list. My phone then ran out of battery and turned itself off overnight after which I've since given it a full recharge. However, that text message I sent has now disappeared from the conversations list and although I can see the start of it under the contact's name in the Contacts app, it responds by telling me it's been deleted when I try to select it. I did see an option in the settings to "Delete Old Messages" which was enabled but given that I had a total of 1 text message on the phone then I assume that was not the culprit.
I seem to have a problem with duplicate contacts appearing ONLY on my text message screen when I go into the recipient menu. The duplicate contacts DO NOT appear in my contacts screen.
I have:- Disabled contacts from phone. Disabled contacts from Google Enabled contacts from slim card only.
When I go to text message > add a recipient. I get a list of duplicated contacts?
i have the samsung galaxy s2. Just wondering where i find the notification for lost calls or incoming messages.i mean : when the phone goes into standby (batterisaving) and screen goes "black" , id like to know if it is possible to have a light blinking that notify my that i have had a missed call or got a text message. as it is now i have to press middle button to check.
seems a bit lame compared to other questions! But, how do I set it so that when I recieve a text, it beeps every two minutes or so instead of just once? I can't find it anywhere! Also, when a text does come, the actual message quickly scrolls across the black bar at the top of the home screen..can I remove this? I would normally have the screen locked anyway but if i'd just used it and left it on the table for instance.
I have managed to delete a set of text messages from my iPhone and the last sync that my iPhone did was Dec 09 or after the this morning. Is there anyway of getting the messages back from Dec 09 to today?
Somehow I have deleted my text message icon by addcident. Supposedly this is not even possible when I ask my friends, but it definitely isn't hidden as I've gone through all the instructions to 'show all' and still can't find it.
I have had the Desire Z for a couple months now and noticed that the wrong messages were disappearing when I deleted some. Yesterday I did it very carefully and slowly and caught the problem happening. Here is what I did.
There were 2 messages. I held my finger on the first one I selected Delete I clicked the button to delete "locked" messages I let go and the first message was still there but the 2nd one (from someone else) had gone!
I accidentally deleted an entire correspondence (conversation) by accidentally hitting the "clear all" button. <Side note: Apple really needs an undo option here or a password confirmation before it just deletes it! I have done some searching through the web and discovered that even "deleted texts" are still embedded deep within the phone.
I need the steps to recovery the messages. Unfortunately, I thought that my phone was syncing daily with my laptop, but it looks as if it was not automatically set up. iTunes would open up and want to sync apps, but apparently not the messages. I don't know enough about iCloud to know if it would be possible to pull the old texts from there, but I'm pretty desperate.
I've downloaded Decipher Textmessage recovery and Wondershare, but as they both initially couldn't pull anything from iTunes, I did not push it further as I thought best to stay in holding mode. I know there is the iPhone Recovery Stick from ProofPronto but it's uber expensive and so if there is another way, I would rather go that route.
Can I recover a deleted text message that contained pictures? I accidentally deleted a text with pictures of my granddaughter and I would like to get it back. Is it too easy to delete messages?
I have Nokia 7610 (Classic and not supernova). It has a very strange problem. One of the text messages in the inbox does not open, cannot be deleted, can't be moved to any other folders and you can't even see the msg details. If you try to open/delete or move it, the phone simply restart. Because of the I am unable to take backup via any software, whether Nokia or 3rd party. Tried to access the msg file via different phone explorer like fileman, etc and located the msg file in the system mail folder. if you go to the specific folder then the phone restarts. Have tried every known solution but does not work. The phone data is important and cannot be erased. Please look in to the matter and help me with a resolution where I can recover the data, i.e. the msgs, contacts, etc.
I accidently deleted the full contents of the "Camera" folder.ll the photos and video that I had taken in the last 2 months were lost. ( I know I should have backed them up...but I was planning to do it today...not thinking I was going to do something stupid last night!)I have a hunch that the files might be able to be restored...possibly using some sort of restore/recovery software.I have tried 2 software programs so far...Piriform Recuva & Stella Phoenix Photo Recovery.he problem is that neither of them recognise the Samsung Galaxy S II as being present, even though it is plugged in and showing in "My Computer"So...does anyone know of software that does work.
After upgrading to ICS the SMS setting changed to delete old messages once 200 messages were reached. I didn't realise this and so some of my old messages have been deleted. Is there any chance I could retrieve any of these? I can't find the file location for the sms messages.
I accidentally deleted my whole photo history today. I had a back-up but there are several irreplaceable photos that I had taken since the last back-up.
I've read the other threads on this topic. I've installed Piriform Recuva and found the DCIM cache but got no further. The Recuva programme doesn't recognise the phone when it's plugged in to the computer.
When I go to storage on the phone, it says there's no sd card inserted (this is probably right - I remember buying one last year but I don't think I ever put it in since I used so little memory), so I can only assume everything's stored on usb or on the phone itself, but I can't see where the usb is to take it out. The only option available under storage there is 'format usb storage', which I don't want to do.
I have 2 e-mail accounts; mail drops into each as it should. When I open my e-mail on my PC, mail drops into my accounts (Outlook) and is deleted from the server. At that point the e-mails are also still on my phone. However when I next switch from one account to the other on the phone, all e-mails are deleted from both accounts on the phone. This was never a problem with my HTC Wildfire, when I would delete mail on the phone manually, which is what I want to do now.
The mms message is lengthy and the entire text is not displayed. It shows "more" in the bottom rh corner of the text but can't figure out. how to get the rest of the text to show.
