Nokia :: 7610 Classic - One Text Message In SMS Inbox Cannot Be Opened Neither Deleted
Jan 4, 2010
I have Nokia 7610 (Classic and not supernova). It has a very strange problem. One of the text messages in the inbox does not open, cannot be deleted, can't be moved to any other folders and you can't even see the msg details. If you try to open/delete or move it, the phone simply restart. Because of the I am unable to take backup via any software, whether Nokia or 3rd party. Tried to access the msg file via different phone explorer like fileman, etc and located the msg file in the system mail folder. if you go to the specific folder then the phone restarts. Have tried every known solution but does not work. The phone data is important and cannot be erased. Please look in to the matter and help me with a resolution where I can recover the data, i.e. the msgs, contacts, etc.
She owns a 7610 supernova. and has an issue which is doing her head in. (and mailing me 5 times a week about it so i want to help sort it lol)every time she sends a message or ends a call she recieves a message from o2 about her credit. as i recall it's a service message (not SMS) and this makes a noise when these come through.she wants to silence these if possible. is there any way to do this please.(sorry i'm an s60 user so don't want to get confuddled)
Actually I have 5600+ text messages in my inbox and I wouldn't really like to delete them all at once, but select like 1500 of them who are from certain people and leave the rest which makes like %70 of existing messages. Although, it is nearly impossible and needs a prophet-like patient to do that, thus I thought it is best to connect mobile to PC via using USB cable and Nokia OVI suite, whenever I have tried that it always stuck after deleting several messages(sometimes this number is 15, sometimes 30-40.. but no more then that). Stuck for my situation means, u gotta remove the battery and turn the phone again. I also tried to do the same with Nokia PC Suite, but the same as OVI happened. Manually from phone, selecting, messaging --> delete messages --> delete all message in inbox folder makes happen the same too just like trying to go in the inbox and mark all the messages there, select delete marked.
I have bought a new 5800 XM recently instead of my old 7610. I tried hard I think but unable to find a way to transfer my text messages from my 7610 to 5800 XM. How come I can manage this or is not there a way to achieve this issue.
* I own the final version of Nokia PC Suite and Ovi Suite by today. they even cannot install the Nokia PC Suite Support software into my old 7610. **When I tried to back up my messages from 7610 PC Suite warns me that these messages cannot be restored to another model.
I just want to know if there is a way that I can open my text message "inbox" without haivng to open a new text message that I have. I used to have a droid. When I clicked on the message icon, it would open to the full inbox, just not the conversation with the new text message. I want to know if there is a way I can do this with my iPhone as well.
I opened a text message that I heard on the news tonight is loading spyware on your phone to grab your personal info.Is the I phone software vulnerable to that attack? If so, should I reset my phone? This is an i phone 4s with latest softare updates?
Message inbox icon (notification/ indicator) for Text message does not appear on my Torch 9860 when I receive text message (the little tiny text message bubble icon).I get it for email and blackberry messenger (little envelop for email, blue bubble for messenger) but nothing for text message.
I dont know how but my inbox for my text messages vanished, maybe i accidentily deleted it when it was in my pocket but even when people send me a txtmessage i dont see it in the popup menu or get an alarm anymore, the only way i can check if i have new messages is when i open up the textmessage folder in the general message folder.
I've got a C5 and can't work out how or if I'm able to set the text message inbox to override old messages. At the moment it gets up to about 2000 texts and then I have to delete them either one by one or the entire inbox at once. I have the sent messages set to hold only 100 texts but cannot work out how to do this with my inbox.
So I checked my text message inbox this morning to find a random number sitting there in between messages I had gotten the day before. There wasn't any writing underneath the number and when I clicked on the number, there wasn't even a text message... as if it was blank. What's weirder is that my phone didn't even register that I'd gotten a new text.. the number just appeared.
Apps and free space Already did security wipe and battery pull but still the date at the text message inbox shows August 31, 2043. No Apps installed since I got the phone last week of October 2011.Never used the browser.Only used the phone for TEXT MESSAGE, CONTACTS, CALENDAR, CAMERA.My text message inbox suddenly shows August 31, 2043. The received and sent items are now messed up due to this date error.
I have an LG AX265 on the Alltel network. What I am curious is to why my inbox is filling up at ~103 texts and not 300 as it says in the phone memory area.Another thing I was wondering is that when I type a text it max's out at like 160 some odd characters. Why wont it continue typing and send multiple texts at once?
I am having an Empty message (not Blank Message). It takes up the space of a text message but the recipient name or the message is not shown in inbox. When I tried to Open the message it said 'Unsupported message type'. This message is not even getting deleted saying 'Error occurred. Deletion not completed'. I got this problem already Twice. What happened further is, After sometimes more of such msgs starts to appear, and then suddenly all saved messages will get deleted.
Then all the applications (including basic applications like calculator) will get deleted. I gave to Nokia service centre. They just said it could be virus so they got my mobile, gave back (installing the software again I guess, I don't think they Cleaned Virus as told by them) and told me to use memory card after scanning. I scanned the card with the top antivirus - with up to date virus database. So I am very much sure there is no virus in my Memory card.
I am using 'PhoneDirector' to back up text messages from my Nokia 6303i Classic to my iMac. This worked fine, until the phone's firmware was upgraded. The developers of PhoneDirector tell me "the latest firmware of the 6303ci phone is not able to initialize the OBEX protocol if it is requested from the computer".I have about 2000 text messages in my phone and I want to get them on my computer because the phone is getting the hick ups from this amount of messages.
I have managed to delete a set of text messages from my iPhone and the last sync that my iPhone did was Dec 09 or after the this morning. Is there anyway of getting the messages back from Dec 09 to today?
Somehow I have deleted my text message icon by addcident. Supposedly this is not even possible when I ask my friends, but it definitely isn't hidden as I've gone through all the instructions to 'show all' and still can't find it.
I sent an SMS text message to someone yesterday from the default Messaging app and could thereafter see it sitting there in the "Conversations" list. My phone then ran out of battery and turned itself off overnight after which I've since given it a full recharge. However, that text message I sent has now disappeared from the conversations list and although I can see the start of it under the contact's name in the Contacts app, it responds by telling me it's been deleted when I try to select it. I did see an option in the settings to "Delete Old Messages" which was enabled but given that I had a total of 1 text message on the phone then I assume that was not the culprit.
I have had the Desire Z for a couple months now and noticed that the wrong messages were disappearing when I deleted some. Yesterday I did it very carefully and slowly and caught the problem happening. Here is what I did.
There were 2 messages. I held my finger on the first one I selected Delete I clicked the button to delete "locked" messages I let go and the first message was still there but the 2nd one (from someone else) had gone!
I accidentally deleted an entire correspondence (conversation) by accidentally hitting the "clear all" button. <Side note: Apple really needs an undo option here or a password confirmation before it just deletes it! I have done some searching through the web and discovered that even "deleted texts" are still embedded deep within the phone.
I need the steps to recovery the messages. Unfortunately, I thought that my phone was syncing daily with my laptop, but it looks as if it was not automatically set up. iTunes would open up and want to sync apps, but apparently not the messages. I don't know enough about iCloud to know if it would be possible to pull the old texts from there, but I'm pretty desperate.
I've downloaded Decipher Textmessage recovery and Wondershare, but as they both initially couldn't pull anything from iTunes, I did not push it further as I thought best to stay in holding mode. I know there is the iPhone Recovery Stick from ProofPronto but it's uber expensive and so if there is another way, I would rather go that route.
Can I recover a deleted text message that contained pictures? I accidentally deleted a text with pictures of my granddaughter and I would like to get it back. Is it too easy to delete messages?
