Suddenly, my notification bar has stopped (vertical and horizontal), so, I cannot receive any notification.I did a dalvik cach, or even check in settings. But I couldn't see nothing that made it be stopped. I'm using XtraSmooth ROM.
View 2 RepliesA few days ago, my N5's camera stopped working and none of the usual solutions (reboot, clean data and cache of camera app, even complete wipe and change of ROM) did anything to fix the problem. So I went on ebay, and bought a replacement back camera, fitted it and all was well...for a day!!! It looks like after just one day (and nearly no use at all) the new camera has already stopped working.

With a ElementalX-N5-4.09 kernel.
I tried:
Reflashing the ROM
Wiping and Reflashing the ROM
Wiping and Reflashing the ROM, without ElementalX
Wiping and Flashing an older version
Wiping and formating of user data too + Reflashing
complete reset by doing fastboot oem lock/unlock
flashing of the factory image of Android 6
Each time the result is the same. When the phone was still running cyanogen I had adb while it was booting (that's no longer the case) and I saw nothing striking ... it would have one (pc) screen worth of log (logcat) and then nothing it would just stop. I couldn't spot anything in kernel logs either (dmesg/last_kmsg).
The recovery is working fine ... I was able to start an ssh server and use it... it's just android that won't boot.
Recently my Nexus 5 stopped working. I get no display, But I can assume the phone is on because when I connect it, the holder on my computer opens up.
I assume there is something wrong with the connection. sometimes i can play with the daughterboard and the backlight lights up. but there is still no display.
The problem is that the phone is in PTP instead of MPT.
I don't care about the phone much as the pictures on it, because they are the last picture I have of a family member that recently passed away in an accident.
Even though the phone is rooted. when I load up Nexus toolkit, the phone is listed as unauthorized and I don't know how to pull any files off of it.
I got a 32gb Nexus 5 today. I don't have a sim in the phone yet, but I wanted to set it up. I went through the setup process, skipped the sim setup, added my google account, etc.
When it started automatically downloading things, this message popped up saying Setup Wizard has stopped working. I hit ok, and did see the error again. No other issues yet, but just curious about that one.
Is it a google app that needed to be updated? Or is it the fact there is no sim? Like I said no other issues (for the 10 minutes I've used it). Just curious.
Oh and a quick edit - I've done a factory reset and cache wipe.
My nexus 5 after some random reboots on latest cataclysm rom started to have a problem that power and volume button were not working at all. I have done everything and even flashed it all back to stock with no luck. The power and volume buttons work perfectly in bootloader mode but dont work in recovery or in the rom.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Google Nexus 5 and it's hooked up through Straight Talk's AT&T towers. Yesterday my phone randomly stopped being able to use its 4G, so even though it shows that I have full bars I can't connect to the internet using my data AND it seems as though I'm not receiving text messages. When I try to make normal calls, an automated voice tells me that something has been "deactivated".
I haven't reached my data use limit yet (not even by half!), my bill for this month is already long since paid, and I haven't downloaded/done anything that seems like it could have led to this. I've tried a couple of other fix-it methods but non seem to work.
My N5's notification light no longer appears to work for notifications. I believe it occurred after I switched back from ART to Dalvik.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI just recently fixed this same issue with my Nexus 7, but this is a whole different beast. I used Check My Android to check my accelerometers, and they are functioning just fine. I cleared my cache and then cleared/reformatted the partition. Then I did a factory reset because I was losing my mind. It's still not working. I went into the display settings to turn on the auto rotate manually and it will rotate with that screen up but not on my home screen or in any other app.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI pulled my phone out a bit ago and my LED Notification LED was flashing blue at me. I checked the notification area and there was nothing there. I checked my settings in Light Flow Lite and checked the three areas it was controlling that had a bluish light set. Nothing there (I even changed the colors of those notifications - no change). I looked around the phone as much as I could figure out and could find nothing. I finally had to reboot the phone to get the light to go off.

On my iPhone, whenever there is an incoming call that I didn't answer, or a new message, there is always a very visible notification on the phone desktop, so I can deal with it immediately. This doesn't seem to be happening with my Nexus 5. Sometimes I don't discover the message, which was obviously designed for immediate reading, until days after, when I am going through my messages. I'm sure there must be a way to make the phone let me know, but I haven't figured it out yet.

1) When i use google voice to set a reminder, for example "remind me in 2 hours to take out the laundry" it sets an alarm for that reminder instead of a notification
2) If i set the same reminder for a couple of days from now it sets it as an appointment in the calendar (it asks me which calendar app i want to use, which is new) instead of a reminder.
3) When i manually set a reminder it doesn't notify me
4) I cant seem to find where the setting is for the sound played for the reminder notification, which was somewhere in the past.
Any former iPhone users or even other Samsung users know the email app? You actually get the number of new emails displayed ON the app.
Nexus doesn't have this feature? I turn on notifications and I get a little letter envelop in the top status bar but that's it.
Not sure it doesn't sound weirs but with root and your notification light, is there any worry about burning out that led notification light on the top speaker grill at all?
