View 4 Replies View RelatedI tried Lollipop for a loooong time and now I'm sick and tired. I downgraded to 4.4.4 but I have a persistent notification in the status bar saying that the new system update to android 5.0.1 is available. But I don't want it!
Is there a way to disable that notification? It is very anoying. I tried to download FOTAkill.apk and put it in system/apps with rw--r-r- permissions but doesn't work. I know that the simplest solution is to install a custom rom but I am very happy with stock rooted + xposed + modules.
I noticed with the update to 4.4.3 when you change the default notification tone to none, hangout's notification then defaults to hangouts notification rather than no notification. I'm not sure if this effects all apps. On 4.4.2 it would just be silent. I had to add a silence notification to my sdcard internal memory to have a silent notification.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem where I cannot text to 6 digit numbers (for card balances and whatnot) because there is a +1 in front of the number. There is no way to edit the number before sending the text. I have tried deleting the contact and manually typing the 6 digit number but it still adds +1 in front of it (which gives me an error when I send the text) . How to get hangouts to remove the +1?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought a Nexus 5 from amazon and when it came in and I set it up, it was like setting up a brand new phone. However, when the setup process was done and I was brought to the homescreen, it had SuperSU in the app drawer. I was scared because I do not want a rooted phone, so I installed Root Checker and that said that my phone was not rooted. However, if I launch SuperSU in order to uninstall it, it gives me a pop up that says that "There is no SU binary intalled" and stuff, and I cannot access the app further than that. Is there any way to uninstall it? (Also, if I go to the google play store to uninstall, it just says that it'll uninstall all updates from this app).

View 24 Replies View RelatedI'm not able to free up photo/video storage on my device - Nexus 5 running 5.1. I've deleted all photos and videos off the device itself. When I check "storage", I still see 1.7GB of storage being used under "Pictures, videos". When I click on "Pictures, Videos" in storage, there are no files. When I look in the "photos" app, again there are no files under "on device". The trash has been emptied. I rebooted the phone. No luck. Auto back-up is on, but as I stated, none of the photos are stored locally at this point. How do I free up this mysterious use of space?

It showed me that your current version is 5.0.0.497 and new version 5.0.0.1077 is available for download. When I clicked the new update it says "Submitting Update Request" which remains as is and nothing happen after that till today. Rather after couple of minutes a message arrives that Waiting for Connecivity to submit request. Do you want to keep waiting? When I press yes, it happens again and again. And when I press no the previous screen arrives from where I started.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI pulled my phone out a bit ago and my LED Notification LED was flashing blue at me. I checked the notification area and there was nothing there. I checked my settings in Light Flow Lite and checked the three areas it was controlling that had a bluish light set. Nothing there (I even changed the colors of those notifications - no change). I looked around the phone as much as I could figure out and could find nothing. I finally had to reboot the phone to get the light to go off.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI'm an immigrant to Android from iOS. On my iPhone, whenever there is an incoming call that I didn't answer, or a new message, there is always a very visible notification on the phone desktop, so I can deal with it immediately. This doesn't seem to be happening with my Nexus 5. Sometimes I don't discover the message, which was obviously designed for immediate reading, until days after, when I am going through my messages. I'm sure there must be a way to make the phone let me know, but I haven't figured it out yet.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem these past few days, something strange is happening..
1) When i use google voice to set a reminder, for example "remind me in 2 hours to take out the laundry" it sets an alarm for that reminder instead of a notification
2) If i set the same reminder for a couple of days from now it sets it as an appointment in the calendar (it asks me which calendar app i want to use, which is new) instead of a reminder.
3) When i manually set a reminder it doesn't notify me
4) I cant seem to find where the setting is for the sound played for the reminder notification, which was somewhere in the past.
Any former iPhone users or even other Samsung users know the email app? You actually get the number of new emails displayed ON the app.
Nexus doesn't have this feature? I turn on notifications and I get a little letter envelop in the top status bar but that's it.
Not sure it doesn't sound weirs but with root and your notification light, is there any worry about burning out that led notification light on the top speaker grill at all?
