I am really happy with my htc one m8 and i just don't want to download any update(4.4.4) is there a way to stop it better than having to delay it every 4 hours...
View 2 RepliesEvery single member of our family was awakened at 2 am last night when their phones were beeping about a system update. ALL of our phones were in "Do Not Disturb" mode with the only exclusion list being a couple family members' phone numbers. There is no option to block system update alerts in the middle of the night. There is no slider to select/deselect that. It seems like this would be a pretty basic option.

The problem I've got is that the phone downloaded the 5.11 update and then asked me if I wanted to install, which I obviously don't. I just used the back button to leave the update screen, but now I'm left with a notification saying "System Update - Update Postponed".
Can I get rid of this somehow?
I'm rooted and not sure how to get rid of it it's always different with each oem...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried Lollipop for a loooong time and now I'm sick and tired. I downgraded to 4.4.4 but I have a persistent notification in the status bar saying that the new system update to android 5.0.1 is available. But I don't want it!
Is there a way to disable that notification? It is very anoying. I tried to download FOTAkill.apk and put it in system/apps with rw--r-r- permissions but doesn't work. I know that the simplest solution is to install a custom rom but I am very happy with stock rooted + xposed + modules.
The android system (6.0) update notification came on my phone yesterday (Moto X Pure 2015). Since I couldn't connect to a WiFi where I was, I decided to switch to my cellular data. But as soon as I did that the notification disappeared. I tried finding it on my phone settings, where you go to settings-->about phone-->system updates. It says my device it upto date. How can I retrieve the notification? I was waiting for my android OS update for a month and then this happened.

It showed me that your current version is 5.0.0.497 and new version 5.0.0.1077 is available for download. When I clicked the new update it says "Submitting Update Request" which remains as is and nothing happen after that till today. Rather after couple of minutes a message arrives that Waiting for Connecivity to submit request. Do you want to keep waiting? When I press yes, it happens again and again. And when I press no the previous screen arrives from where I started.

I was using Android KitKat (on Nexus 4) and I had a notification from the Alarm 2 hours before it rings (which also allows me to switch it off if I was already awoken for instance). I don't use stocks so removing them like I can with 3rd party apps would be ideal. to restore them just plug the phone in to iTunes and from the app tab drag the system icon over to the phone.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI cannot figure out what the little sound this phone is making all the time, haven't worked out the pattern yet. But it is really annoying as I can't seem to turn it off. I have tried numerous sound profile app, nothing works.
Also everything is untick in sound profile under 'system' but It still makes a noise when I unlock the phone.
It is a system sound because it is not the notification sound I have set in the sound profile. Even when I set it to silent, it still makes the noise.
I'm seriously thinking of switching back to the One X.
Am I the only person who is unable to figure out how to play system notification tones over a bluetooth ear piece? My old Moto Q did. What I'm talking about is to have meeting warning tones and e-mail / text message arrival tones play thru the earpiece. For that matter - why can't we redirect ALL sounds that go to the phone's speaker go to bluetooth???
I have missed more meetings and not responded fast enough to a number of e-mails because of this.
Anybody have a way to make this work? I haven't found anything in the market place that works.
How to clear the system update notifications for Lollipop on both the lock screen and in the notification area at the top left of the screen. I'm not really wanting to update just yet.

The problem is that I get notifications for facebook on the screen, but when I go to see the ''unread'' there is none. I re-check the latest notifications, and can't remove it either.
I use google play to download an application but my wifi connection got lost before the download started, so a "ongoing notification appeared, but I cannot remove the ongoing notification on my xperia ray, I cannot also see it on the manage application list.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I began this process at 9AM and thank goodness it went somewhat flawless. I did a backup of my 8530 and then began updating via the new desktop .654 to my 8530. I did have to tweak a few things like facebook and the home screen but other than that it was ok.
I posted earlier and am posting this so others might realize that this is a long process -- hope this helps someone else who thought it might be a few hours but not 5!
i'm trying to update the operating system on my 9100.it is taking literally hours. is this normal?? it keeps being so slow on "net_rim_bb_maps.cod" and i think the bar has moved a little, but its still showing that same module for at least the past 5, 6 hours. what do i do?

Since I know it's always enabled, I want to get rid of the notification in the drop down menu that's just stating the obvious: "Power saving mode enabled."
I've tried long pressing on the notification (leads to a system app called "Settings Reveiver") and looking for the Power Saving system app settings manually (only found one called "Power Sharing"), but every viable option seems to have the "Show Notifications" option enabled and grayed out so I can't change it. To read or reply to the text I have to touch the Hangouts icon because single or double taping the white notification does nothing and I cannot swipe to remove it. I only get this notification when the phone is on but not in screen lock mode. How do I stop this white notification bar from popping up?
