i'm trying to update the operating system on my 9100.it is taking literally hours. is this normal?? it keeps being so slow on "net_rim_bb_maps.cod" and i think the bar has moved a little, but its still showing that same module for at least the past 5, 6 hours. what do i do?
I got a new blackberry pearl and connected it for the first time to the laptop, it said there were upgrades available so I clicked yes and now I am very sorry. 3 hours have passed and it is stuck on "Back up third party applications". What can I do? I don't want to disconnect the phone in case it damages it. The phone itself is actually working, making and receiving calls and all the apps and info are still ok, just terrified to disconnect incase it dies.
I started the update from OS 7 to OS 7.1 on my 9810 at around 17:00 yesterday. I am writing this 14 hours later and the device is currently "Linking Java". It took 1+ hours to download the 47MB OS to the phone using Wifi (not cell) only.
I lost my original backup file for my 3GS and I am getting a replacement today. I called the apple store and the mac genius told me to create a backup, I downloaded a fresh copy of itunes to my new laptop, connected the 3GS, on the icon I right clicked "create backup" and the back up started, my phone says, sync in process the little wheel is turning so I know its reading and the meter is moving but its moving very slow, I started this at 6:35am and now it's 9:02am and it's only half way. Is this normal?, does it take this long to create a first backup file? I have a 16Gb but I have 10Gb free, I dont have much in it, just about 1184 pics and some applications.
My wife just bought an LG G3, finally upgrading her LG Optimus T. She was having the same issue on her old phone, which is what prompted her to give the thing a decent burial.
The problem is that she's intermittently receiving texts 12 hours or more after they're sent. She's seldom anywhere that there's no signal & her old phone only recently started exhibiting these symptoms.
Her SIM card was upgraded when she got the new phone & I installed and formatted an older Class 10 32 GB SDHC card from my S4 after I replaced it with a 64 GB card.
im trying to update my neo and its taking hours pc companion only goes as far as preparing my computer for the update any ideas why this is taking so long and how to make it work quicker?
I have just got an upgrade from 4s to 5c so now I'm trying to do a restore from iCloud, it's taking hours and hours, I'm not actually sure if any things happening, I can see my apps, but not all my photos. How do I know if it's actually working?
I am using Blackberry Desktop software to switch data from old Tour to new Tour and realized mid-way through the switch that I don't have the latest Desktop software installed. The device switch feature "Task in Process 'is going on 3 hours at this point and I'm afraid to stop it and restart it given the warning that the device may become unusable if you disconnect. Should I just disconnect it anyway? Download the latest software and try again? I don't think it should be taking 3 hours to complete this switch!
i have a blackberry 8220,when i try taking photos the screen keeps on displaying......."could not start the camera.close other applications and try opening the camera again"...
So I began this process at 9AM and thank goodness it went somewhat flawless. I did a backup of my 8530 and then began updating via the new desktop .654 to my 8530. I did have to tweak a few things like facebook and the home screen but other than that it was ok.
I posted earlier and am posting this so others might realize that this is a long process -- hope this helps someone else who thought it might be a few hours but not 5!
I am really happy with my htc one m8 and i just don't want to download any update(4.4.4) is there a way to stop it better than having to delay it every 4 hours...
After update to ver 50 my 5800 battery runs down in a few hours, even if I make no calls, it also has become very unresponsive, hard to scroll, it was fine until update, I tried my spare new battery and it is exactly the same, no apps are running, wifi is off, and it gets hot occasionaly.
I updated my blackberry tour to the 5.0 version i believe through the wireless update. After the update was installed or so i think i returned to my phone to it playing the hourglass constantly and nothing for about 5 hours now. What do i do??
I'm experiencing troubles with my new Lumia 950. During migration, a few apps installed, but still about 50 are pending and the download is stuck. Downloading the OS update is also stuck at 0%. The internet access is fine, I can browse web through IE.
A notification appeared to update my iphone5c. I pressed update and the phone went off with the apple logo and a loading bar underneath. It begun to load (10-15%) of the way and it stopped and has not moved for a number of hours. I am now unable to use my phone and don't know what to do! Â
Every single member of our family was awakened at 2 am last night when their phones were beeping about a system update. ALL of our phones were in "Do Not Disturb" mode with the only exclusion list being a couple family members' phone numbers. There is no option to block system update alerts in the middle of the night. There is no slider to select/deselect that. It seems like this would be a pretty basic option.
I've left my phone for 2 hours for the software update and it's only done 15% and stays on there, I've done the alt caps key and delete key to restart the phone but now my phone is frozen.
I have a Nokia N8. As there was Symbian Anna on it, I have optimized my battery consumption. It was running at least 2-3 days. Now after upgrading to Anna it lasts only 8 hours. This is really not much.
What can I do? I have no Apps like Skype or WhatsApp running. Also I disabled all autostart apps with SafeManager.
i got an email saying that i should update my phone and the backup part of the update is taking at least 2 hours and more, how do i speed up this process?
I've tried installing the official Motorola update 4 times and every time it is unsuccessful. The update says it is available for download, then downloads and asks to be installed. I choose to install it and the phone reboots. It then goes to the progress screen, gets to about 40%, and then shows the triangle with exclamation mark inside of it. Then the phone reboots and pops up a message saying update failed.
I have done 2 full factory updates (erased all memory), called Sprint, talked to a Motorola level 2 tech, and gotten nothing. No one has even tried to troubleshoot this issue or recommend anything.
I have the Motorola Electrify and about 1.5 weeks ago, I noticed the the orange triangle with exclamation and when I pulled down the notification, the only thing that it stated was "download will start in Wi-Fi. When I would access "settings / system updates" it stated an update was currently being downloaded". Like I said, 1.5 weeks and nothing changed. I had also been experiencing some slow down in the speed, and after reading the many posts on the updates and also slow downs, it was suggested that a system refresh might do the trick. Once refreshed, it was suggested to then access system updates and try to download the update again.
The refresh took care of the update being froze up, and I went back in and tried to download the update again, but to no avail. It froze it up again.I also tried a workaround that I read about by going to settings l data deliver l social applications l sync over wifi, but it still hasn't done anything. I have Wi-Fi in my house but the strength may not be strong enough.
I was unable to update my iOs by just using my phone, so I plug it to my computer on itunes but the internet connection here is quite poor, so I have to wait for 4 hours to complete my 802.8mb software update download, I plugged my phone in the computer at almost 75% battery charge, so if i wait until the software was fully downloaded my phone will be plugged for almost 3 hours and will be over-charged. does an iphone 4s battery be overcharged? or is it okay to plug it in a long time even if the battery reached its 100% charging level? and does it affect my battery life?
The update started in June, 2012 and its end October now. How long will it take me to get ICS on my phone or should i stop bothering coming to this forum for update !
After upgrading to ios5.1 my phone takes a very long time trying to connect to my email servers, check for new mail, and to update email status. After deleting emails, the Mailboxes window often takes a very long time updating status to reflect the emails as read.
This process used take no time at all, but now simply connecting to the servers after selecting the Mail icon can take 30+ seconds. Also, when it indicates the email boxes as updated, the spinning clock icon at the top status bar is still going.
So we're all probably pretty much busy with updating our Lumia Handsets with the Cyan update.I rolled back my DP to 8.0 and updated just fine, however after resetting the phone and setting it up by telling it to restore it from the backup, it gets stuck around at 25% and fails to move ahead.
I keep getting a message after a while saying that the restore process is taking unusually long and if I'd like to skip restoring instead. After waiting for approx. 30 mins once, and then doing it again and waiting for almost an hour, I've now initiated a reset on the phone a third time.
Having issues restoring from their backup? (Note: I moved to 8.0 from DP last week and then updated to 8.1 DP again and did a restore then and it had worked perfectly at the time without issues.
