Galaxy S6 :: How To Remove Power Saving Notification
Nov 17, 2015
Just made the jump from my trusty S3 to an S6! I usually try to conserve the battery life of my devices, so I'm used to keeping power saving mode on pretty much always. Since I know it's always enabled, I want to get rid of the notification in the drop down menu that's just stating the obvious: "Power saving mode enabled."
I've tried long pressing on the notification (leads to a system app called "Settings Reveiver") and looking for the Power Saving system app settings manually (only found one called "Power Sharing"), but every viable option seems to have the "Show Notifications" option enabled and grayed out so I can't change it. Is there any way to get rid of the annoying notification?
I just don't see the point of seeing that I am using power savings once it's already turned on. It's not like I am turning it on and off. Also the new 2 finger slide down is quick enough if I need more info.
Although I have it so power saving mode doesn't officially 'click on' until battery is at 20%, should I be leaving the icon on at all times? I guess what I'm confused on is, does it really enable as soon as I click power saving or does it basically say it's ready to go, not on, but will click on at 20%?
Last night, I went to bed with 30% battery. Because I tend to lose 15-20% overnight (approx. 8 hours), I turned on UPSM. I woke up before my alarm this morning and checked my phone for the time, only to see I had 1% battery. I had a backup alarm, because the phone was dead 30 minutes later when the alarm should have went off. I went from 3.7 days approx. battery life on UPSM to dead.
From my understanding, UPSM is supposed to turn data off if the screen is off, correct? If it doesn't, I found my culprit as my apartment gets horrible data connection for being in a city, so it would be continuously searching for that connection. If it should turn it off, why did UPSM not work? Nothing came through during the night (calls, sms, etc.).
I am running SetCPU and chose it to cut clock speed to 800mhz when the battery is at 30%. Can you recommend a clock speed which will help battery but won't make the phone slow.
I am using Galaxy S6 and have questions regarding the Power Saver. I attached my Ppwer Saver Estimation and saw that even when in Ultra Power Saving Mode my phone will only last for 11 hours in 50% battery?? That is very far from what I am expecting, because lots of info usually with Ultra power saving with 10% battery will last for 24 hour.
Is it normal, or there are something i must do to prolonge my battery life?
my battery was on 5% so I turned on ultra power saving mode. my battery eventually died, then when I plugged my phone back into the charger it wont let me turn power saving off. my drop down list isn't available and a lot of my setting are missing. ive tried restarting the phone and fully rebooting but nothing works and I cant turn the bloody thing off.
I cannot get my phone out of power mode. It is turned off, but auto brightness goes lowest possible still. No lights on buttons, no haptic feedback, no sounds (hate them, but turn on to see).
It's not hardware as the haptic buttons light and vibrate on boot... Just nothing after boot up. Haven't done anything but let my phone hit 10% battery before charging.
My Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is locked--""Unable to recognize your fingerprint. Enter your backup password to unlock the device". Apparently I do not know the password.
It is in Ultra Power Saving mode. I have tried Android Device Manager...the message I entered shows on the screen, but the temporary password I set does not work. Almost feels like the screen I'm entering that password on is the wrong screen, and I'm limited by the power saving features.
Not sure what else to try; Samsung's Locate my Phone doesn't seem useful.
I like to use my phone until the battery dies but the phone goes into power saving when under 5% battery life and I can find no way to disable it in order to adjust brightness or use the light.
I had less than 7% of battery and I went into Ultra Power Saving Mode where I got only notification upper tab and blank screen below. I reboot my phone but stuck on Samsung logo. How to fix this?
Tried wipe cache in recovery mode and charging phone up to 100% but no luck, still stuck on Samsung logo.
Phone is international S6, not rooted, official. Any options except hard reset?
After activating my Ultra Power Saving mode, I was able to deactivate, however my phone then went into a similar power saving mode, grey scale screen, no apps and no option to exit the mode available on any accessible parts of the settings. Is this a bug? or have I activated a mode I didn't intend to?
I managed to lock myself out of my Samsung galaxy s5, and now my phone is now asking for an alternative password (which I don't remember setting).
I tried going onto android/google device manager but the phone seems to have glitched from what I believe is because I put it in ultra power saving mode.
it's possible to disable ultra power saving mode while the phone is still locked.
p.s. I also rooted my phone before I became locked out of it.
I used Ultra Power Saving Mode last night for about an hour. When I reverted back from that about half of my icons were missing including my stock Voicemail, YouTube, Yahoo Mail, all my games...etc.
Looked a little further into it this morning on Application Manager and the apps are still present on the phone and installed, but "Turned Off". If I tap on them, some have a button that says "Enable" (which appears to be all the pre-loaded apps that came with the phone) but most of them don't.
I've used Ultra Power Saving Mode as recent as two weeks ago with no problem.
I received a voicemail and now the notification is stuck on my screen. i am not able to swipe it away and when i click and hold on it i go to the app info and the options are, set priority and hide content. Both i turned off and when i pulled down the notification bar it is still there. I have read previous posts but none apply to the s6. I read that you should do a system restart, but will that delete all the things on my phone?
My phone battery is dead in 10 hours or less. I think the problem is it does not go into a power saving mode (sleep mode?). I have rebooted, restored (twice), let the battery run out and restart several times to no avail.

yesterday my Nokia N85 ran out of Charge. This morning i plugged it in with either a Usb cable to computer or a wall usb Charger and after around a minute the battery bar shows up.It doesn't charge but just sits there with 1 power bar and in power saving mode.
i realize when i turn on my cellphone on power saving ,it give me a error and it says Phone start-up failed.Contact the retailer, and i need to turn off the cellphone, but if i deactivate the power saving the cellphone in the start up it works fine, i notice too that the power saving activating doesn't deactivate the signal or chance the mode of saving power
I bought yesterday a Nokia X2-00 and been exploring it for a while, so far so good, pretty happy and satisfied with it, but there's a problem that bothers and I can't seem to find a solution for it. About the screen-saver, I can, for example, put it as a digital clock, and set a timer for when the phone to switch to screen-saver mode. Problem is, I don't seem to find anywhere an option to play with the sleep mode - no matter what, about 10 seconds after the screen saver goes active, the screen goes totally black (goes into sleep mode) and I need to press a button to wake it up. No digital clock display, no nothing.I need to be able to see the clock (and possibly an icon for missed calls/new texts) without having to touch a button. On all my old phones you could play with both screen saver/power saving/sleep mode options, but not here. What can I do?
Blackberry user for 2 months...I've discoverd the standby mode and I still have to charge every night or the battery will be dead before 48 hrs has passed.
my phone keeps coming out of power saving mode (the screen lights up ) for no reason even when it just sits on the table doing nothing this is problem if its in my pocket because it then phones people hs any one what i have done or how i can stop it
Since I bought the phone I have had power saving mode enabled. When it comes to paying games like need for speed, what am I missing out on with power saving mode enabled? It seems to be running fine with it enabled.
