Galaxy S5 :: How To Stop Phone From Power Saving
Apr 9, 2015I want to be able to disable power saving when the battery gets low and can't seem to.

View 1 RepliesMy Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is locked--""Unable to recognize your fingerprint. Enter your backup password to unlock the device". Apparently I do not know the password.
It is in Ultra Power Saving mode. I have tried Android Device Manager...the message I entered shows on the screen, but the temporary password I set does not work. Almost feels like the screen I'm entering that password on is the wrong screen, and I'm limited by the power saving features.
Not sure what else to try; Samsung's Locate my Phone doesn't seem useful.
Every time I connect my Samsung Galaxy s5 to my laptop to transfer photos, it always moves over picture and video advertisements probably from apps. My worry is that they're taking up space on my storage, but I can't seem to find them on my phone...
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter activating my Ultra Power Saving mode, I was able to deactivate, however my phone then went into a similar power saving mode, grey scale screen, no apps and no option to exit the mode available on any accessible parts of the settings. Is this a bug? or have I activated a mode I didn't intend to?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI managed to lock myself out of my Samsung galaxy s5, and now my phone is now asking for an alternative password (which I don't remember setting).
I tried going onto android/google device manager but the phone seems to have glitched from what I believe is because I put it in ultra power saving mode.
it's possible to disable ultra power saving mode while the phone is still locked.
p.s. I also rooted my phone before I became locked out of it.
At first I though this was because I froze too much with TB but now when I've unfrozen everything it still doesn't work.
So far I've found "EmergencyManagerService" is related. I started trying one by one and found this one but then unfroze all.
I get a pop-up saying to wait while it configures (0/100)... But it doesn't ever turn on.

I just got my S6 after having an S5 and I don't know if this is the same for everyone but I wanted to ask.
I used to be able to get 12 days out of my phone on UPS on s5 but the s6 only goes for 3.5 days?
I have it on 95% of the time. Set it to "immediately".
Only way I have found to make it last through the day at work.
Just made the jump from my trusty S3 to an S6! I usually try to conserve the battery life of my devices, so I'm used to keeping power saving mode on pretty much always. Since I know it's always enabled, I want to get rid of the notification in the drop down menu that's just stating the obvious: "Power saving mode enabled."
I've tried long pressing on the notification (leads to a system app called "Settings Reveiver") and looking for the Power Saving system app settings manually (only found one called "Power Sharing"), but every viable option seems to have the "Show Notifications" option enabled and grayed out so I can't change it. Is there any way to get rid of the annoying notification?
Although I have it so power saving mode doesn't officially 'click on' until battery is at 20%, should I be leaving the icon on at all times? I guess what I'm confused on is, does it really enable as soon as I click power saving or does it basically say it's ready to go, not on, but will click on at 20%?
View 4 Replies View RelatedLast night, I went to bed with 30% battery. Because I tend to lose 15-20% overnight (approx. 8 hours), I turned on UPSM. I woke up before my alarm this morning and checked my phone for the time, only to see I had 1% battery. I had a backup alarm, because the phone was dead 30 minutes later when the alarm should have went off. I went from 3.7 days approx. battery life on UPSM to dead.
From my understanding, UPSM is supposed to turn data off if the screen is off, correct? If it doesn't, I found my culprit as my apartment gets horrible data connection for being in a city, so it would be continuously searching for that connection. If it should turn it off, why did UPSM not work? Nothing came through during the night (calls, sms, etc.).
when I put my s5 into ultra power saving mode it will start to restart itself lots and doesn't like to disable when I try to

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Galaxy S6 and have questions regarding the Power Saver. I attached my Ppwer Saver Estimation and saw that even when in Ultra Power Saving Mode my phone will only last for 11 hours in 50% battery?? That is very far from what I am expecting, because lots of info usually with Ultra power saving with 10% battery will last for 24 hour.
Is it normal, or there are something i must do to prolonge my battery life?
my battery was on 5% so I turned on ultra power saving mode. my battery eventually died, then when I plugged my phone back into the charger it wont let me turn power saving off. my drop down list isn't available and a lot of my setting are missing. ive tried restarting the phone and fully rebooting but nothing works and I cant turn the bloody thing off.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot get my phone out of power mode. It is turned off, but auto brightness goes lowest possible still. No lights on buttons, no haptic feedback, no sounds (hate them, but turn on to see).
It's not hardware as the haptic buttons light and vibrate on boot... Just nothing after boot up. Haven't done anything but let my phone hit 10% battery before charging.
Since I bought the phone I have had power saving mode enabled. When it comes to paying games like need for speed, what am I missing out on with power saving mode enabled? It seems to be running fine with it enabled.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like to use my phone until the battery dies but the phone goes into power saving when under 5% battery life and I can find no way to disable it in order to adjust brightness or use the light.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had less than 7% of battery and I went into Ultra Power Saving Mode where I got only notification upper tab and blank screen below. I reboot my phone but stuck on Samsung logo. How to fix this?
Tried wipe cache in recovery mode and charging phone up to 100% but no luck, still stuck on Samsung logo.
Phone is international S6, not rooted, official. Any options except hard reset?
I use Gmail and every single person that send me an email is save automatically as a contact.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used Ultra Power Saving Mode last night for about an hour. When I reverted back from that about half of my icons were missing including my stock Voicemail, YouTube, Yahoo Mail, all my games...etc.
Looked a little further into it this morning on Application Manager and the apps are still present on the phone and installed, but "Turned Off". If I tap on them, some have a button that says "Enable" (which appears to be all the pre-loaded apps that came with the phone) but most of them don't.
I've used Ultra Power Saving Mode as recent as two weeks ago with no problem.
I keep pressing the power button whilst holding the phone. Is it possible to disable power button? Also why is there a long space/gap? like the above when I type

Webpage added to Bookmarks > [My Phone]
Then when I click the Bookmarks icon at bottom of page, the Bookmarks screen comes up under Bookmarks > Samsung account and there are no bookmarks listed.
Where can I find Bookmarks > [My Phone] or how do I create bookmarks to Bookmarks > Samsung account?
My phone battery is dead in 10 hours or less. I think the problem is it does not go into a power saving mode (sleep mode?). I have rebooted, restored (twice), let the battery run out and restart several times to no avail.
Info:

So if I open messenger, or send pictures through it, etc., all the pictures I have been sent/have sent are in my phone gallery again. Is there any way I can stop this? It's very annoying. I just opened my gallery and there were 29 photos from messenger that I had previously deleted from my phones memory.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHave a Samsung Galaxy S5....upgraded to a 16G microSD with no issues....now I have purchased a 32G microSD card. It is completely seated in the phone, I have formatted the card, yet any pictures I take are saving to my phone instead of onto the new card? Why is this, and how can I correct this?
Also, how do I get the pictures that saved to my phone, over onto the microSD card?
yesterday my Nokia N85 ran out of Charge. This morning i plugged it in with either a Usb cable to computer or a wall usb Charger and after around a minute the battery bar shows up.It doesn't charge but just sits there with 1 power bar and in power saving mode.
