Apr 15, 2014Is there any way to change the profile picture that appears when you go in the trigger menu on the notification bar or pull it down with two fingers?

View 1 RepliesSo I changed my Google+ cover photo and it changed everywhere but in Gmail the Fit app and Maps.
Does it just take time for it to change everywhere or is there something like cache to clear to fix it?
My profile picture doesn't show up in the settings menu of Hangouts, Inbox, Gmail or Google Now. This is the case on both my Nexus 5 and my Nexus 7 (2013).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am on Lillipop 5.1. I have chosen a notification sound in Hangouts but no matter which one I change it too, even silent it uses the Europa sound all the time when a message comes in. Is it a bug?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 6 running Android Marshmallow, though this was happening with Lollipop too. Randomly, my default ring tone, messenger notification, or gmail notification will change, either to no tone, or just a single repeating beep. When I check the settings, the selected sound ends up being a 5 digit number. For example, my messenger tone is now 53918, no sound plays. Annoyingly for messanger, it will change the notification for all my conversations to 53918. So even if I change the default, all active conversations keep the "number sound."
View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed with the update to 4.4.3 when you change the default notification tone to none, hangout's notification then defaults to hangouts notification rather than no notification. I'm not sure if this effects all apps. On 4.4.2 it would just be silent. I had to add a silence notification to my sdcard internal memory to have a silent notification.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to add a picture to my Wallet profile, the app sends me to Google+ (app says that Google+ manages profile photos). I have a profile photo already set up in Google+ but can't seem to get it recognized in Wallet.
All syncs are working, AFAIK. I'd really like to have a profile picture in Wallet. Not a huge deal; just that now it's not working makes it a challenge.
I have had my Nexus 5 for several months and only ever used 1 of my 2 Google accounts on it. About a month ago I decided with a bit more with my second account I would try putting my second Google account in the settings. So I added it in settings > accounts > add account > Google then fill out the rest. I only originally checked to sync Gmail, Keep, and URL shortener for that second account. As those were the only things I really needed for that account since I had my main account already. Switching Google accounts in the Gmail app, Google Keep app, and URL shortener app are very easy and have worked great!
The problem occurred when I decided to add a Google+ profile photo to that second account and decided to sync Google+ on my Nexus 5 for that account too. Since doing that, now in the notification toggle shade for Google+ profile toggle it shows that profile picture with the short cut to go to that Google+ account. Which I do NOT want as that is a highly private account! I want it to stay as the original account I have always had that I have set to sync almost everything with.
how I can change what Google+ profile shows in the notification toggle pull down shade? I also noticed when going to Google contacts app under Me section at the top it shows the Google+ profile I don't want. I have tried unchecking and then rechecking the Google+ sync option for the account I wanted to show but that did not resolve it.
In the Google accounts section on my phone settings I noticed my main account is at the top, but when going in the Google+ app and on the left side menu it shows the account I don't want to show in the notification toggle and contacts app, as the account listed at the top. I am thinking that account being on top on the Google+ app is what's causing the issue.
I noticed when I update my profile on my n5 I will lose network data until I switch network data off and back on. It only happens after I update the profile the prl is fine.
Its a nexus 5 on sprint 16gb
I buyed sony ericsson xperia mini pro few months back. at that time i synced my contacts with facebook with facebook app. And i got all my friend's profile pictures as my contact pictures. But now when i changed my memory card i also formated my phone. I took backup of contacts on sim card. after installing new memory card i imported my contacts back to phone and synced facebook once again with my phone contacts. This time they got synced too but their facebook profile pics are not becoming my contact pictures. I also tried enabling facebook inside xperia but still it didn't worked. I want to get them done as quickly as possible.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen using Hangouts to view a MMS text message which contains an image the image can be viewed full screen. The menu buttons disappear and that space is used for viewing more of the image. The Gallery and Photos apps do not do this. Both of those apps keep part of the screen reserved for the menu button bar. Any picture viewing app which will allow a full screen slideshow similar to the way Hangouts uses the full screen?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got this issue for about two or three days now. Quite often, when I take a picture with stock Google camera app, my Nexus turns off instantly. Then, when I try to turn it on again, it often turns off again in about one minute and usually it shows almost empty battery (even though before shutdown it was nearly full).
First it has appeared on stock rooted 4.4.4, the phone tried to boot like 10 times, so I erased cache and dalvik via TWRP, but then it didn't detect SIM card and showed unknown baseband. I solved it by flashing bootloader and radio.
Then, I installed a stock 5.1.1, rooted it again (I thought it would solve the issue), but the same problem with camera occurred. So, could it be hardware issue? How to debug it?
I tried setting up Google voice and can't figure that out. I can call *86 and retrieve my voicemail. It just never notifies me it's there.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI pulled my phone out a bit ago and my LED Notification LED was flashing blue at me. I checked the notification area and there was nothing there. I checked my settings in Light Flow Lite and checked the three areas it was controlling that had a bluish light set. Nothing there (I even changed the colors of those notifications - no change). I looked around the phone as much as I could figure out and could find nothing. I finally had to reboot the phone to get the light to go off.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI'm an immigrant to Android from iOS. On my iPhone, whenever there is an incoming call that I didn't answer, or a new message, there is always a very visible notification on the phone desktop, so I can deal with it immediately. This doesn't seem to be happening with my Nexus 5. Sometimes I don't discover the message, which was obviously designed for immediate reading, until days after, when I am going through my messages. I'm sure there must be a way to make the phone let me know, but I haven't figured it out yet.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem these past few days, something strange is happening..
1) When i use google voice to set a reminder, for example "remind me in 2 hours to take out the laundry" it sets an alarm for that reminder instead of a notification
2) If i set the same reminder for a couple of days from now it sets it as an appointment in the calendar (it asks me which calendar app i want to use, which is new) instead of a reminder.
3) When i manually set a reminder it doesn't notify me
4) I cant seem to find where the setting is for the sound played for the reminder notification, which was somewhere in the past.
Any former iPhone users or even other Samsung users know the email app? You actually get the number of new emails displayed ON the app.
Nexus doesn't have this feature? I turn on notifications and I get a little letter envelop in the top status bar but that's it.
Not sure it doesn't sound weirs but with root and your notification light, is there any worry about burning out that led notification light on the top speaker grill at all?
