Prior to the GB update there was an option to trigger a Notification Sound only on receipt of the first email. Upon receipt of subsequent emails, the phone would remain silent. I cannot find a similar setting in GB.

If you use RoadRunner and are having trouble setting it up to send using your Motorola Atrix 4G, you should do this:Go to the Outgoing Server section for your roadrunner email account on your cell phone.For SMTP server - Enter m[URL] (Do not enter anything else. Do not put "smtp-server" in front like you do for the incoming POP3 set-up)For Port: enter 25 For Username: Enter your complete roadrunner address For Password: Enter the password you use for that roadrunner address Press "OK" Press "OK" again I would then go to that Roadrunner account and send out a test email. I put the following in my test:I sent it to another RoadRunner account (I have 5 RoadRunner accounts so I sent it to one that I have not changed the outgoing settings for).In this email I typed on the subject line: From Cell to (something to identify the email address I sent it to) using the mobile-smtp.roadrunner.com setup. (I then put the time here)I put the same thing in the subject line.I did this so I would know what settings I used and the time it was sent. It was sent at the same time in lightning speed.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I send myself an email from my computer to my phone I get it in a minute, but without any notification other than the LED. No sound even though I have the notification sound on in settings and the volume up.
Sending an email is another story. The phone says it is sending it, but last night I ended up going to bed after a couple hours without having received two emails going from my phone to my computer, both with pics. This morning I had finally received the emails and the funny thing was, the sent time would have been correct, even though my computer did not actually receive them at that time. They must have been in At&t limbo for a couple hours???
This morning same thing. I took a pic, sent it to my computer, and upon opening Gmail it says it is sending (in red), but I'm simply not getting it. Is this a phone problem or an At&t problem? It's a bad problem, I'll tell you that. I can't be waiting a couple hours for someone to receive an email.
In the meantime, I'm going to send myself an email without a pic and see if that goes through right away.
In my motor blur account i have several email accounts but only one make a sound when it come in. Is there away to kill the sound for that email come in without turn off the sound on the phone it is yahoo.com email my other email donot make sound and only show in my notification when drop the screen.

On one of the phones, the led notification does not work when emails are received. On the other phone, the led notification works fine.
I see no way to turn it on or off in system settings.
I factory reset my phone recently and was getting email notifications where the icons were coloured (red @ sign for IMAP and blue background sync sign for Exchange based accounts). Something changed recently and now I only get grey notification icons for the email accounts. I'm not sure what changed though.

Recently i plugged in my Droid 4 to try and put some pics from my computer to my phone. Before i've done this without any problems but now whenever i plug my droid into my computer the option that appears is the task bar that says USB mass storage, Charge only, etc. is gone and no computer i plug it into recognizes the phone. I've tried multiple cords and tried downloading different things for my computer to fix it that i've seen on other forum posts and it never works.
Whenever it plugs into a computer it charges it but that is it. I've turned on USB Debugging or whatever and that doesn't help either. It used to work fine and now it doens't,
The one issue I have is that there is no motion detector option when using Smart Actions. I have a FIDO (Canadian Carrier) RAZR and everything is up to date included the Smart Actions app.The system version I am using is 651.167.3331.XT910.Fido.en.CA?

View 6 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed that if you move the display brightness setting all the way to the left, the display still looks plenty bright? Like you would expect it look if you moved the slider to the middle but not all the way to the left?
I'm trying to lower the brightness to save battery and also save my eyesight when using in a dark room. But the ATRIX2 seems VERY limited in its ability to dim the backlighting of the display. Any firmware updates to fix this on the horizon??
Is there an APP or setting to keep a hotel internet connection open? I find that as soon as the phone sleeps, the connection is lost and I have to resubmit the connection policy that is usually associated with connecting to a hotel internet connection.

My question/ observation deals with video play. Some sites show "postage stamp" that can be stretched while others show full screen automatically. Am I missing a setting to ensure full screen at all times?

I had no issues with this account until last week, when my Exchange server migrated.I tried adding the new server name, but that did not fix the problem. View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from a Droid2 to a Droid3. My Droid3, when connected, via USB cable to my laptop (running Ubuntu) will charge (lightning bolt on the battery, etc), but no notification sound/icon allowing selection of USB mode. I have a cable I bought from the Verizon store. The same cable works with the droid2 still. I can swap from the droid3 to the droid2 and it would connect and my laptop would mount the sdcard (in usb mass storage mode). I have also tried at different computers at work. I had Verizon send me another refurbished droid3. It wouldn't connect either. Motorola Tier 2 tech walked me through the basic checks again, and had me do many combinations of turning on and off, and unplugging the battery, and factory resets to no avail. I asked the tech support to try it on one of their models and she said it worked there, coming up with a notification.
Next I went into a Verizon store, tested with a new cable and multiple computers there, and had an employee try with their droid3. Still no notification message with either of our phones! They said I should wait for update. I have 90days of warranty on this phone, should I wait for an update or maybe even ICS? or return it with hopes I just have seen three droid3's in a row with this problem, and they are not all like this? Or even possibly a different phone? (i like the droid 3 otherwise).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Gmail Calendar. I have subscribed to the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar using the Gmail web interface. The Android Calendar App lists this calendar as synchronized and visible. Unfortunately, the anniversary, birthday, and other events from the calendar do not display. I purchased the CalenGoo App to troubleshoot this issue. CalenGoo also fails to display the the "Contacts' birthdays and events" content via the Android account. However, if I manually add my same Gmail account to CalenGoo and allow it to sync independently, then the events appear as expected. This indicates that Android is not actually synchronizing the events from this calendar, although the UI reports that it is.
I have tried deleting the Calendar Data from the phone, removing and re-adding the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar in Gmail, and re-syncing on Android various times. These actions had no effect.Is anyone with a Motorola Atrix HD seeing this behavior, or getting the contact birthdays and anniversaries to display?

Since then some of the settings in the Camera app have disappeared. View 1 Replies View RelatedToday may be the first time I attempted to transfer photos from my Atrix to the PC. I am running Windows 7 Pro-64bit. After connection via cable, I select USB Mass Storage for the USB connection. Windows throws up a box that asks "Do you want to scan and fix Removable Disk?" I select "continue without scanning. In Windows Explorer there appear to be far fewer folders on the card than when viewing in Astro, but I did not do an exhaustive check. Of immediate concern is that the Camera folder is not visible under DCIM, thus I can't retrieve my photos over the cable. Should I back up the card directly to the PC via microSD adapter then let Windows scan and fix next time over cable?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the Atrix HD and the notification light is only working when I reboot the system, then once the system is on, the notification light no longer works. My original Atrix has a settings option to turn the notification light on/off, but the Atrix HD has no such settings option which was in the 'display' settings on my original Atrix. I then tried the 3rd party apps, such as Light flow, and LED tester etc... none work, even though Light flow overrides the phone settings its still not functioning. I even went through and rebooted the phone, and also w/a technician on the phone and the same thing. the notification light will blink green during system reboot, but after that, it ceases to function. This seems trivial but it's a huge help when im working w/all the msgs I get to determine if I get an important msg or not and one of the reasons I stuck with the motorola line. i've checked hundreds of forums, and spoke to various tech supports, and I cant seem to get a answer that works.
