Motorola Atrix 4G :: Instructions For Setting Up Email Using RoadRunner?
Jun 15, 2011
If you use RoadRunner and are having trouble setting it up to send using your Motorola Atrix 4G, you should do this:Go to the Outgoing Server section for your roadrunner email account on your cell phone. For SMTP server - Enter m[URL] (Do not enter anything else. Do not put "smtp-server" in front like you do for the incoming POP3 set-up)For Port: enter 25 For Username: Enter your complete roadrunner address For Password: Enter the password you use for that roadrunner address Press "OK" Press "OK" again I would then go to that Roadrunner account and send out a test email. I put the following in my test:I sent it to another RoadRunner account (I have 5 RoadRunner accounts so I sent it to one that I have not changed the outgoing settings for).In this email I typed on the subject line: From Cell to (something to identify the email address I sent it to) using the mobile-smtp.roadrunner.com setup. (I then put the time here)I put the same thing in the subject line.I did this so I would know what settings I used and the time it was sent. It was sent at the same time in lightning speed.
Prior to the GB update there was an option to trigger a Notification Sound only on receipt of the first email. Upon receipt of subsequent emails, the phone would remain silent. I cannot find a similar setting in GB.
Has anyone else noticed that if you move the display brightness setting all the way to the left, the display still looks plenty bright? Like you would expect it look if you moved the slider to the middle but not all the way to the left?
I'm trying to lower the brightness to save battery and also save my eyesight when using in a dark room. But the ATRIX2 seems VERY limited in its ability to dim the backlighting of the display. Any firmware updates to fix this on the horizon??
Is there an APP or setting to keep a hotel internet connection open? I find that as soon as the phone sleeps, the connection is lost and I have to resubmit the connection policy that is usually associated with connecting to a hotel internet connection.
I've had my ATRIX for 6 weeks now and I love it. It's my first smart phone and although probably not my last I expect to use it for a long time. My question/ observation deals with video play. Some sites show "postage stamp" that can be stretched while others show full screen automatically. Am I missing a setting to ensure full screen at all times?
I have a Motorola Atrix 2 and initially set up a Corporate Sync account several months ago. I had no issues with this account until last week, when my Exchange server migrated.I tried adding the new server name, but that did not fix the problem. I was advised by my company (Microsoft) tech support to delete the Corporate Sync account and then re-create it.I proceeded to create the Corporate Sync account via Setting > Accounts > Add Account > Corporate Sync, but when I keyed in my information (Email address, Password, Domain, and Username) and clicked Next, I received this error:Sorry! The application Accounts (process.com.motorola.setup) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.I have restarted the phone numerous times, but this error still occurs. I haven't found any helpful information online thus far
called motorola but they were going to send me instructions but never received,I reqally need to get this working...Corp synch is not working after the last update. I am getting a connection error
Is there a way to set up email to sync over wifi only? The option is available on my phone which I have unlimited data on, it would only make sense for Motorola to put it on a tablet that has a limited data plan.
I received an email today on my Droid X with a .doc attachment size of only 750kb and next to the attachment (where you normally click to download), it says "Attachment is too large". In my opinion, this limitation seems to be of a really LOW limit, especially compared to my iPhone. My email provider is mobile me and I never had any issues pulling attachments well over 1MB in size when using my iPhone. Is there some kind of attachment size setting that
Is there a way that, when setting a time on a calendar item, that the time can be locked?Example:When travelling, the time of airline flights is set when at home city.Phone is set to Auto Time, to display the system time. I.e., when travelling to a different time zone, the local time is used by the phone.Problem: The time in all calendar items are adjusted to the time zone travelled-to, not the value orginally set. Therefore the time of an airline flight is advanced (or reduced), and does not reflect the time that the flight actually departs.. a problem. One work-around is to leave the phone time setting to home time, but then the phone can't be used in place of a watch. Is there a setting in the calendar function that ignores current phone time?
I would like to install this app bt it wont install because "Python Location" is not installed. However, i cant see this app in the list to install. Is this currently being worked on atm??
I just set up my yahoo email with the xprt. Once I did that, yahoo sent me an email if I want to share with MotoBlur. I don't want to share. What information did they get? How to avoid from sharing with MotoBlur? At work, I set my phone of vibrate. At times, I need to set it to silent. I can't seem to do that with the volume bottom. It only allowed me to set it to vibrate. It seems I would have to get into settings/sound to silent the phone.
I'm trying to add a new email account. The account is a hover.com email account.
I had added it when I first got the phone. It told me that I was successful but I do not see it. When I attempt to add the account again, I get the message "The account has already been added"
Other than going to the Accounts list, is there somewhere I could check to see of the account actually exits? Is there a way to over-write the account?
i am trying to set up my my phone again after i got it back from repair sevice. i put in my second motorblur acct which i after used my 2nd email from yahoo.com. i try to add my main yahoo email to my account and it is not let me add it """it telling me login to the account failed, please try again"". i check the spelling and password it work on the pc and it work and on browers on atrix.
New to the smartphone community. User manual is lacking. How do I highlight and/or select multiple email messages for deletion? So far, it looks like a one-at-a-time deal
I have 3 email accounts on there, including Corporate Sync. These are all visible under the "Messaging" app (which I placed on the home page) and they have unread email counters at the top-right. I have setup my corporate account as my default on the "Email" app that's also on the home page. I was wanting to see the email counter directly on that home page for that account opposed to having to open the Messaging app.
I retired my Blackberry to get on board the smart phone train and after 2 1/2 weeks with my Atrix 4G I am barely able to use e-mail. I'm not a techie but fairly competent with a post grad education and spent over 2 hours with a true techno geek that could not find a solution that only after spending a couple hours in the local AT&T retail center with their gurus trying to determine if the phone was defective.
After reading dozens of posts on outgoing e-mail problems, there are so many different issues that I cannot believe AT&T can market this phone "for the business man" T can market this phone T can market this phone
I just received my Atrix HD today, and it refuses to recognize my verizon.net email address! I'm completely frustrated as to what to do. Every time I try to configure the email it says my password is incorrect. But of course, I can connect to my email fine from my home network via PC and laptop.I was really looking forward to using this phone. If it is a technical issue between Motorola and Verizon, I'll have no choice but to return the phone.
I can receive email just fine from my Atrix 4G phone, but I can't reply or send an email. It tries to go, but then I get a message that says it wasn't sent. I have gotten with our IT person, and all the settings seem to be right. Others aren't haveing problems sending from thier phones.
If I send myself an email from my computer to my phone I get it in a minute, but without any notification other than the LED. No sound even though I have the notification sound on in settings and the volume up.
Sending an email is another story. The phone says it is sending it, but last night I ended up going to bed after a couple hours without having received two emails going from my phone to my computer, both with pics. This morning I had finally received the emails and the funny thing was, the sent time would have been correct, even though my computer did not actually receive them at that time. They must have been in At&t limbo for a couple hours???
This morning same thing. I took a pic, sent it to my computer, and upon opening Gmail it says it is sending (in red), but I'm simply not getting it. Is this a phone problem or an At&t problem? It's a bad problem, I'll tell you that. I can't be waiting a couple hours for someone to receive an email.
In the meantime, I'm going to send myself an email without a pic and see if that goes through right away.
In my motor blur account i have several email accounts but only one make a sound when it come in. Is there away to kill the sound for that email come in without turn off the sound on the phone it is yahoo.com email my other email donot make sound and only show in my notification when drop the screen.
After much messing about I have finally got my emails to work on my atrix but to receive them I have to manually refresh them, is there anyway to set them up so when I get an email it will automatically give me a notification like it does on the IPhone.
