View 7 RepliesFor some reason, I have not received a notification on my X to upgrade to GB. Possibly, it is due to the phone being registered out of MI, with a MI area code, and the phone and myself, are actually located in a western state. Irregardless, I have not received any notification of an upgrade and before I go looking for it, is it really worthwhile at this time, or should I wait until all the bugs I'm reading about are fixed?My X with Froyo, is operating great. No problems other than maybe once a week a freeze up that requires a battery pull. Since I came from the BB world, and I also carry a BB tour for work, battery pulls are no big deal and almost seems natural.I read about problems, not only here, but on a few other forums. I read where people have to take their phones into the local Verizon store for service after GB upgrade. That is not a good option for me, since this involves a 120 mile trip to the nearest Verizon store
View 10 Replies View RelatedI noticed this last night, it may not be when it actually started though. When I am connected to WiFi my 3G icon disappears. If I turn off the WiFi my 3G pop backs on fairly quickly. This is how my Milestone X used to work and I noticed as soon as I got my Bionic that the 3G icon would stay on even when connected to WiFi even though it wasn't actually being used. Now sometimes at night it would disappear which I always attributed to the battery saver settings, but then today it is the same, which has never happened. When connected to WiFi the 3G icon is gone. I actually prefer it this way, and I'm not complaining, but I have not received any updates or anything so I don't know why this would have changed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have tried several email programs, including K9, and when I receive an email with photos embedded, they dissappear when forwarded.
I have tried sending as "shared" using again several different email programs, but they all distort original email. Some change the formatting and if lucky put all jpgs at end, and not within text,or delete them completely.
Similar problems appear if it is a text message with embedded photos or illustrations. If I go to my desktop and forward the email or text message it gets to its detination correctly.
On the Droid 3, it appears SMS timestamps are based on the time a message is received, rather than sent. For the most part, this is not noticeable, but in some cases (such as having your phone off), it is. It is more useful to know the time a message is sent, than received on your phone.A side effect of this is, if you use a program to restore your SMS threads, the dates will all be lost. On other phones, such as the Droid, restoring threads does not lose the timestamp. This is disappointing because after upgrading to my new phone, I have lost all context for my SMS threads.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I awoke to an update notification from VZW indicating that an OTA update was available for my D2G.I downloaded the update which took ~25 minutes it went through the restart and installed the software and then upon an auto restart after installation the phone showed a new M logo, transitioned to the pulsating droid logo and is stuck there.I've tried restarting the phone several time with no luck.

I check the account and my password which should show as ******* now shows as ****************************. Who or what is adding the extra digits to my password. It's a yahoo/sbcglobal account. I've been having similar problems with corporate account at the office.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the past week, my D4 has been putting incorrect time stamps on incoming text messages when using certain non-stock text messaging apps. All received texts (regardless of sender) are stamped 4 hours earlier than when they were actually sent. Makes threaded messaging a real pain.
Stock text message app is fine, as is Handcent. The problem seems to be isolated to GO SMS Pro (my preferred SMS app) and ICS Messaging (stock ICS-like). I have uninstalled both and reinstalled with no change.
I just noticed this, and I'm not sure how long it's been happening, but I can't find any setting to get the phone to vibrate when I receive a text message. I can have it make a sound or be silent, and the phone vibrates just fine when I get a call.

I have vibrate on text message receipt turned on. My phone will vibrate indicating I have received a message but there is nothing in the notification bar or in the list of text messages. I know that it is a failure to receive because I often text people asking them if they just texted me and I almost always find who it was. They resend and I get it. I can't seem to find a trend as to what the root cause may be. Is this a known issue that is expected to get addressed in one of the upcoming patches or do I need to report it to Motorola to look into?
When I receive a text message as a member of a group, how do I respond to only one person such as the sender only? All I see is Respond All.

In settings/sound & notification, the notification volume is turned all the way up, and it's also set to vibrate for calls. She receives audio notification of other messages(Facebook, pintrest). We have Verizon for our provider.

Took less than 10 minutes to install then when the X started back up it displayed an "Update Failed" message on the slide to unlock screen. Going to Settings > About phone does show a system version of 4.5.602.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought 2 of these phones, the second one for my daughter. She can send a 7 page, 800 character text (and more) without a problem. My phone won't allow me to send more than one page at a time with a limit of 132 characters. I called verizon, and no one could help me. I did find out that it has to do with the difference between SMS and MMS messaging. I was told that the Droid 3 is set-up already with expanded or extended MMS messaging. The only way I can send a text with longer than 132 characters is if I attach a picture to it, as it changes it to MMS. I have checked every option of the phone and nowhere can you manually change it.

It seems to have been setup in error. It appears in email settings as check box as whether or not to use it along with work email account that does work. The "desktop" account does not appear in the email set up wizard. How do I delete the "Desktop" account. I have attached the pictures.

Everything was fine when I had the X. X2, not so great. And I have auto-updating set.
My business email is hosted on a private server. My incoming mail comes through that server, of course, while my outgoing mail goes through Cox, my ISP. Problem is that while I can receive email with the native app on my DRIOID Bionic, I can't send email. Motorola telephone support helped me get it set up correctly (send and receive) with K9, but it's only receiving with the native app. (Support pretty much bailed at that point.) How can I get it to send also with the native app?
