Motorola Droid Turbo :: No Sound / Vibrate Notification When Text Message Received
Nov 20, 2015
When she receives a text message, there is no sound/vibrate notification. In settings/sound & notification, the notification volume is turned all the way up, and it's also set to vibrate for calls. She receives audio notification of other messages(Facebook, pintrest). We have Verizon for our provider.
How do I customize the call notification to vibrate and the text message notification to sound at the same time for vibration mode? The vibration mode works fine for me (both call and message notifications vibrate only), but sound notification for text messages when I am in the middle of something. I am a new Android user and it seems that both settings cannot be done separately for the vibration mode.
I have rebooted, contacted Verizon numerous times, been routed to a Level II technician, but nothing seems to solve the only intermittent problem of getting no notification sound when I get an email. The problem started out getting no ringtone sound when I got a call. Verizon finally fixed that by enabling something on advanced calling in their network. That took numerous trips to the Verizon store. Then, two days ago, I went back to Verizon with my wife to look at the iphone6 for her. I casually mentioned the notification problem to the salesperson, who said the problem was probably due to my downloaded sounds, and that I should stick to the sounds on the phone. I promptly went home and removed the downloaded sounds, but the problem persists. Because the problem is intermittent, no one has been able to fix it.
I just noticed this, and I'm not sure how long it's been happening, but I can't find any setting to get the phone to vibrate when I receive a text message. I can have it make a sound or be silent, and the phone vibrates just fine when I get a call.
Every time I reboot my phone I lose notification sound for the first incoming text message. After the first it returns as normal. It always vibrates normally. Any ideas? I checked sound settings and they are all maxed out after a reboot, but still no sound until the second text message.
I am having trouble figuring out how to disabel the text message notification screen that pops up when the Droid 3 is on the car dock. I find this screen to be unnecessary and annoying. It is particularly inconvenient while using navigation. I believe I have been through all the menus, but maybe I'm missing something.
Now that I've had this happen a couple of times and I know I wasn't hallucinating, I wanted to see if anyone else had noticed it.Sometimes, when I get a new text message, I pull down the notification bar, click the notification, and it takes me to a blank text thread, addressed to the person who sent me the message, just as if I was sending a brand new text in a brand new thread to that person. If I back out of it and go back to text messaging, their name is still showing in bold blue, indicating there is a new message, and I can click it and everything is there as expected.
My phone makes text message sound or vibrate everyday at 4:00 and 8:00 but there's no text message. Is it just my phone? or is there a alert thing going on I don't know?
I get no led notification, screen off or of course screen on. Occasionally the led will flash a single time when the phone goes into sleep mode but no more after that. Not for email, text message, nothing. Tried a reset and no led even before re-installing 3rd party apps. None of the led apps worked either.
just reporting an issue I have noticed with ICS on my Droid RAZR. If I have a text message conversation open and receive a new message from the same contact, the notification icon pops up, I'm properly notified, but then it won't clear without backing out of the conversation to the higher level text messaging section. I have had success a few times with tapping on the new message to clear the notification icon, but not all the time. This was not an issue I noticed with the previous version of Android.
If I set my phone to either vibrate or be silent, when I get a text or whats app or some other sort of notification, it rings instead of vibrate. I like the phone to be quiet in certain environments and this is killing me. I have had droid razors before and never had this issue.
im trying to figure out whats wrong with my photon, its been almost a month and when i get a notification (email, text, ect) i dont find out untill hours after i recived it because my phone doesnt vibrate. It vibrates when i get a call and when im using the keyboard but not when i get a notification. I have the vibration for notifications turned on but it doesnt seem to affect anything. I dont get any notification vibration feedback when my phones on vibrate or its on sound.
Okay I am having problems changing the sound to notify you of new incoming text messages and I was hoping someone could help me.
Phone: Telus LG IQ OS: WM 6.5
-I have tried both mp3 and wav formats -Placed them in the root directory of my microSD card and the windows folder on my phone itself. -I don't have a visible application datasounds folder on my microSD card, which is the only other location I have read that I should put them in. (I have tried to show hidden files)
The problem is I cannot get any of the files to show up to select them in Message Settings > Notifications > New Text Message > Example.mp3
does anyone know how to change the sound for a text message notification? If I go to Settings, Sound and Display, Notification Ringtone, and change it, it will only change the sound for say email notifications? I cant change the sound of a text message notifcation?
For some reason, I have not received a notification on my X to upgrade to GB. Possibly, it is due to the phone being registered out of MI, with a MI area code, and the phone and myself, are actually located in a western state. Irregardless, I have not received any notification of an upgrade and before I go looking for it, is it really worthwhile at this time, or should I wait until all the bugs I'm reading about are fixed? My X with Froyo, is operating great. No problems other than maybe once a week a freeze up that requires a battery pull. Since I came from the BB world, and I also carry a BB tour for work, battery pulls are no big deal and almost seems natural.I read about problems, not only here, but on a few other forums. I read where people have to take their phones into the local Verizon store for service after GB upgrade. That is not a good option for me, since this involves a 120 mile trip to the nearest Verizon store
Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 5.0. I receive text messages from work through an email address. I have the address saved in my contacts as an email address. I would like to have a specific notification tone for these messages. Is this possible?
Recently I've been unable to access emails on my D2G. I receive a notification tone and light but when I go to email it tells me it can't establish a connection. I check the account and my password which should show as ******* now shows as ****************************. Who or what is adding the extra digits to my password. It's a yahoo/sbcglobal account. I've been having similar problems with corporate account at the office.
Lately I've noticed Facebook notification, including icons, appear when I open my Droid Turbo. Is this something new, a Motorola upgrade or a Facebook feature. It doesn't bother me, just wondering how I slept this change.
