I've changed the Fetch Schedule for email to Manually but I find that my phone is still periodically downloading the email automatically.
View 8 RepliesI have my Work email to Fetch Menually. However, it is updating in no particular time frame. Once and a while it will just let me know I have a new email. I am assuming it should not retrieve any messages unless I open the email app.

I cannot transfer my phone's Contact list either automatically or manually from my Atrix 2 to my new Toyota Camry. Any chance Motorola has a patch or software update in the works? FYI, my wife's older cellphone will allow manual transfers to the Contact list so I know its not the car's problem.

I get notification for new mails for my corporate email but not my personal email. I used to get notification earlier but I am not sure if I turned OFF a setting. I have looked at a bunch of forums and people suggest turning on Data Roaming and Background Data. I have both turned On. I have looked at a bunch of settings and dont see anything wrong.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am adding Email definitions for my Gmail accounts (in addition to the Google account definition for Contacts, etc.) because I want them to appear in the Messaging -> Universal Inbox. (I'm not fond of the Gmail app.)
Similarly, I am adding definitions for my Hotmail accounts because I read somewhere that Moto/Verizon will set them up as IMAP which I cannot achieve through a client like K9, else I would probably just be using it for my Universal Inbox.
Via My Accounts -> Add account -> Email Accounts... If I set up a Gmail or Hotmail account by selecting Other and then automatically or manually configuring, then mail is retrieved. However, if I select the appropriate icon for Gmail or Windows Live Hotmail, the only Email which ever appears in the 'Inbox' is from donotreply@vzw.net regarding the success of the operation - this message is not even sent into my actual Gmail/Hotmail Inbox as verified online.. NONE of the other messages from my Inbox ever appear.
So, why do I care how the account is set up? Mostly because the only easy way to distinguish between the message source in the Universal Inbox is the little icon designating the type of Email account. If they are all set up as Other, they all end up with the same icon.
This functionality worked just fine on my Droid 2. So, is it now broken on the Droid 4?
(As an aside, the Hotmail account is set up automatically as POP3. Was I misinformed that Motorola had a license to set up as IMAP through some licensing agreement with Microsoft?)
I've had my RAZR about a week coming from a Droid X, so I know this worked before.I have 2 corp sync accounts with my home broadband provider, Frontier. Initially, one of my accounts kept falling out of Push into Fetch.Last night I did a factory reset to see if that would help. Of course, to make things interesting, this morning I had the new firmware update waiting to be installed, so I let that go in.Strange enough, now both my accounts are falling from push to fetch. Im a long time DX user, so I'm sure I have my settings correct. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that yahoo emails don't automatically download on my phone anymore - when I launch the mail app (the built-in apple one, NOT the yahoo mail app), then it downloads all new messages, but other than that, they're not getting pushed automatically. They used to automatically get pushed, and I haven't changed any settings.

I have my email set to push/fetch every 15 minutes and it does nothing. I have to remember to refresh my email to get new mail. I tried changing the schedule to every 30 minutes, but it still doesn't work.

I have 5 accounts setup. My fetch accounts are not fetching. I have to manually go in and let it check, then it finds them.

I have a BB 8520. Suddenly when I compose new email it is not able to fetch the addresses from the "Address book"
If I enter an email address like there is no "Send" menu, there is only "Save Draft" menu I have sent the service book several times, rebooted the BB (battery pull), still it is not helping. When I send SMS, it can access the address book. If I get an email, I can reply to email. From address book, I can click on an email id and send email.
It looks like my iphone 4 checks email every 15 min or so even though everything is turned off? The Fetch is set Manually. Under "Advanced" it says If Manual is selected, this account will only check for updates when the application is in use.
But I made sure the Mail is not running on the background, how come it still checks mail?
I have 2 e-mail accounts set-up but neither one is synching. I have selected "Auto Synch" for both. When I go into "Tools" under the title "Synch Account" it says "Master synch has been turned off" although the green on button clearly shows. I love my Turbo but my email keeps re-downloading even after I've deleted. I just deleted 123 emails dating back to December. Then I heard email notification again and this time 149 emails were DL'ed again duplicating what I deleted plus some. With the Turbo you can't do a select all to delete so it's one at a time or check all and then hit delete. I can't keep doing this. I've checked email settings and I see nothing where I can get this to stop.

These are all visible under the "Messaging" app (which I placed on the home page) and they have unread email counters at the top-right. I have setup my corporate account as my default on the "Email" app that's also on the home page. I was wanting to see the email counter directly on that home page for that account opposed to having to open the Messaging app.
