It looks like my iphone 4 checks email every 15 min or so even though everything is turned off? The Fetch is set Manually. Under "Advanced" it says If Manual is selected, this account will only check for updates when the application is in use.
But I made sure the Mail is not running on the background, how come it still checks mail?
This has been an on and off issue since I purchased the iPhone 4. Seems a restart resolves it but I can never be too sure. I don't know what causes it though.
I have 5 accounts setup. My fetch accounts are not fetching. I have to manually go in and let it check, then it finds them.
Anyone else having this issue? It's a little annoying. Anyone know what might be causing it?
I've had my RAZR about a week coming from a Droid X, so I know this worked before.I have 2 corp sync accounts with my home broadband provider, Frontier. Initially, one of my accounts kept falling out of Push into Fetch.Last night I did a factory reset to see if that would help. Of course, to make things interesting, this morning I had the new firmware update waiting to be installed, so I let that go in.Strange enough, now both my accounts are falling from push to fetch. Im a long time DX user, so I'm sure I have my settings correct. When looking at Settings/Mail Accounts on my iPhone there is an option to Fetch New Data and further option to Push On or Push Off? What Push and Fetch are all about.

If I enter an email address like there is no "Send" menu, there is only "Save Draft" menu I have sent the service book several times, rebooted the BB (battery pull), still it is not helping. When I send SMS, it can access the address book. If I get an email, I can reply to email. From address book, I can click on an email id and send email.
I have my personal email synced with the Email option under accounts. My corporate email is also synced using corporate sync. I get notification for new mails for my corporate email but not my personal email. I used to get notification earlier but I am not sure if I turned OFF a setting. I have looked at a bunch of forums and people suggest turning on Data Roaming and Background Data. I have both turned On. I have looked at a bunch of settings and dont see anything wrong.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am adding Email definitions for my Gmail accounts (in addition to the Google account definition for Contacts, etc.) because I want them to appear in the Messaging -> Universal Inbox. (I'm not fond of the Gmail app.)
Similarly, I am adding definitions for my Hotmail accounts because I read somewhere that Moto/Verizon will set them up as IMAP which I cannot achieve through a client like K9, else I would probably just be using it for my Universal Inbox.
Via My Accounts -> Add account -> Email Accounts... If I set up a Gmail or Hotmail account by selecting Other and then automatically or manually configuring, then mail is retrieved. However, if I select the appropriate icon for Gmail or Windows Live Hotmail, the only Email which ever appears in the 'Inbox' is from donotreply@vzw.net regarding the success of the operation - this message is not even sent into my actual Gmail/Hotmail Inbox as verified online.. NONE of the other messages from my Inbox ever appear.
So, why do I care how the account is set up? Mostly because the only easy way to distinguish between the message source in the Universal Inbox is the little icon designating the type of Email account. If they are all set up as Other, they all end up with the same icon.
This functionality worked just fine on my Droid 2. So, is it now broken on the Droid 4?
(As an aside, the Hotmail account is set up automatically as POP3. Was I misinformed that Motorola had a license to set up as IMAP through some licensing agreement with Microsoft?)
I have my Work email to Fetch Menually. However, it is updating in no particular time frame. Once and a while it will just let me know I have a new email. I am assuming it should not retrieve any messages unless I open the email app.

The title says it all . . . I have 5 x email accounts set up on my Storm 9550 (1 x BB, 1 x private domain, 1 x hotmail and 2 x yahoo). How do I stop the BB checking for emails on ONLY the hotmail account for example, or ONLY 1 x of the yahoo accounts without deleting them. I merely want to disable it temporarily, not delete it. once an email account is setup, where (how) do I need to go to change the email password stored for the account?

A day or two after the upgrade to firmware v40 I noticed that the phone doesn't disconnect from my WiFi connection after checking email. Previously WiFi would disconnect after it was done checking email.This happens for more than one WiFi destination (home & work), and I have verified that the connection's advanced settings do show that power saving mode is ON.
I've verified that there are no apps running in the b/g that requires connection, and if I manually disconnect the WiFi connection, then it stays disconnected until the next time the email check runs, at which point it does not disconnect automatically.

As a student in college, I constantly email my professors back and forth but waiting 15 minute intervals until my mail refreshes is ridiculous. I can't seem to find a way around this... I have just switch to the iphone from a blackberry which automatically pushed my email on its arrive to the server, so this is extremely annoying that I have to wait or manually push my mail. I mainly use my college email account which is not associated with g-mail, hotmail, yahoo etc.

About 2 days ago, my inmail24 pop3 service start trouble by sending same email to my blackberry cell phone as long I haven"t deleted those email via webmail. this is very annoying, i have to log in to webmail to delete all the inbox so it wont received again in my 9700. however as soon as new emails coming to my inbox, the problem arise again, it received again and again same email. my other email which i connected with push email, did not have any problem, received only once at any email and did not get any duplication received. I have aCurve 8330. ! have used Outlook Web Access (now App) to get e-mail from my job for more than a year. Last week I got a message that I needed to confirm my password. I was unable to get the system/phone to accept it so I deleted the e-mail address & attempted to set it up from scratch. I have spent 2 hours trying. My employer's IT dept spent an hour and my local cell carrier guru also tried for about an hour. We get a message that there is an error in the data submitted. I know my Web App info works 'cause I can sign on from several computers with no problem. I called tech help at Blackberry where the nice overseas guy told me "you can't use OWA, only normal e-mail addresses". (Since the set up screens still have the forms to do it, I assume he was wrong.) I have had 2 other e-mail addresses push to the phone for over a year which have no problem. (not going through OWA). We have deleted those 2 & reset with no problem. The problem seems to only be related to Web App.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought a LG G3 a few weeks ago and the same day I upgraded to Lollipop via factory reset before updating, then adding my accounts. I haven't had push email on any account since day one and I've read several threads in where it's claimed there's push email on Lollipop, or at least the gmail app. The lack of complaints about this tells me either it works properly for almost everyone, or it doesn't and few people care. I'd like proper push email, like I have on my Z10, but I can't seem to figure out where the problem lies. When I send myself test email the Z10 sounds off as my finger lifts off my mouse button, and then my desktop as soon as my Z10 goes quiet. Sometime in the next hour my G3 receives the same mail. It's the same result whether on WiFi or carrier connection.
