Is anyone else experiencing problems with push email notifications using IOS 4.0+? My old 3g, new Iphone 4, and colleagues 3gs (not to mention my wife's old 3g and new 4) all experience lack of push notifications for Yahoo email..

I'm not receiving any push notifications for Yahoo mail today. I've tried two different accounts with the same results. Push notifications for other apps work fine.

I thought it was working when I first setup the account, but I may have been imagining things. I've gone through the process of deleting the account multiple times and also clearing the mobile settings/permissions in my yahoo account profile.

View 21 Replies View RelatedAs of today, Yahoo mail won't push mail from my Yahoo account to either my iPad or my iPhone. I can open the mail app and manually refresh to get new mail, but mail won't push on it's own. I tried the basic trouble shooting steps of removing my Yahoo account from my iPhone and iPad and re-added and also turning push off and on, neither fixed the problem.
I wanted to see if it was a global problem so I created a dummy Yahoo account and added it to my iPhone and push worked for that account, so I know push is working. Now here's the weird part. When I added the dummy Yahoo account to my iPhone, push started working for my actual account. I repeated this with my iPad and it worked there as well.
Thinking things were fixed I removed the dummy Yahoo account and push stopped working on my real account. I added the dummy account back in and push started working for my real account. So basically I need to have a dummy Yahoo account on devices to get push mail to my real account. The opposite is not true, I can delete my real account and the dummy account will still get push mails. I tried leaving the dummy account on the phone, but turning mail off, but that too causes my mail account to stop receiving push notifications.
It looks like when a Yahoo account is added to an iOS device, a message is sent to Apple's push servers indicated the Yahoo email address that was added. Similarly when an account is removed a message is sent to indicate the email account was removed. That way Apple knows if any Yahoo Mail accounts are on the phone and if there aren't any it won't push. That or it can tell Yahoo that there are accounts on the phone that need push email.
At this point I don't know how to get things working without using my work around. I can tell the iPhone/iPad is sending info to Apple when I add my main Yahoo account to the device, but the push to check for new messages isn't coming in unless I add a different Yahoo account to the devices and turn mail on.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S2 and about a week before my contract expired I bought the Galaxy, all was well and everything worked and I was getting all my emails (I am on Gmail) direct to my phone and could view them using the Gmail icon on the front of the Galaxy. A few days ago my contract expired and I am now SIM only and everything has gone downhill since, basically push email has stopped, I have rung my provider and it's obvious that they don't know what they are doing because I have received about four or five different bits of advice/guidance from them and none of the options work. The first option was to set up another email address using the email icon on the Galaxy, I did this (with the same Gmail address) and it does work...but it's intermittent (the social hub is now showing this email address).The problem with this method is that I am sure that the two emails are clashing and push Gmail is still not working although I can retrieve emails via the refresh button (in other words pull email). Another member of staff at my provider claimed that he was an Android expert and he said that any emails sent to my Gmail account should be received by the phone, he added that the SIM card is irrelevant and that I should not have to have extra email bundles etc (which is apparently what I have right now although I did not ask for them). I have checked the manage applications route and I can't select a default email, the box is greyed out so it appears that neither of my email facilities have been selected as a default...is there a way to select default email? I reckon that I should delete the additional email account and try and get the push Gmail account working again....as I said both the accounts have the same email address. In addition although I have synched my calender no dates are showing on my Google email account on my PC, the dates were showing last week but nothing now, I have not changed any of my settings on my phone and the PC since the SIM contract started, apart from setting up another email account. Lastly I can't see a way to back up my phone on Kies Air (via Wi-Fi)..

View 15 Replies View RelatedI got my BlackBerry Curve 8520 a few days ago and discovered that I cannot receive service books. The icon for my mailbox for my supposedly created email does not appear on my phone after creating it on the BIS. I tried resending service books a thousand times already but nothing. No icons for email showed up on my phone's home screen and not a single service books received. I tried pulling out the battery already, deleting my email and re-adding it up on the BIS, had my account deleted on the BIS and registering my phone again but nothing seemed to work. I still cannot receive service books and no email icon seemed to appear. I even updated the OS of my phone to v5.0. Everything on my Blackberry is working except for my email and service books problem. I also tried going to Options > Advanced options > HRT > register. I also did a Wipe Handheld on my device but nothing changes. My data plan is active and GPRS is in all caps.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI may have stopped "google framwork services" last week, but I do not think this is related.Basically, my gmail app no longer gets push notifications or syncs automatically.I have android 5.0.1. nexus 5 and the latest gmail app versions. I have checked all settings in the app, and made sure that all my sync settings are enabled. I can see that the last sync of gmail was over 30 minutes ago, yet I've sent emails to my gmail account since then and they appear on the web version.The app won;t show new emails until I manually refresh within the app.
I googled a bit and saw that some people with a similar issue dod a "factory reset" to solve. that seems a bit extreme. Is there any other way around this. I've done all the usual things, cleared data in gmail app and forced stop and restarted phone.I even removed my google account and readded it. nothing worked.
Its been almost a week with the Yahoo e-mail not working on my Atrix. The first few days it would work off and on. Now it keeps telling me connection error. I have removed the account several times and re-added it, and still dosn't seem to fix it. Just trying to use the basic e-mail that came with the phone. Phone is updated to .83.

After doing a manual sync by pressing the refresh icon, I would get emails pushed to my phone fine. However, after some time emails stop getting pushed to my phone. The period of time when push seems to be working varies around a few hours. When it stops working I have to do a manual sync again in order to get push to work for another few hours.

Has anyone had issues with the gmail push today using google sync? My phone keeps asking for my password and I put it in but tells me it is invalid. Now if I use my other gmail account (regular one through the iphone mail) I can get my mail perfectly fine. I tried deleting the account and making a new one but it gives me the same error. Any help would be great.

I don't know why, but since yesterday morning I'm not getting notifications from apps installed on my iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.Messages, iMessages, mails, calendar alerts, etc., works fine, but the rest of apps shows a message telling me that I must connect to iTunes to activate notifications.I'm connected to iTunes but I don't know what else must do.All notifications are activated. It's been working since before yesterday without problem. And I've never used any jailbreak software.
