Feb 1, 2010I'm not receiving any push notifications for Yahoo mail today. I've tried two different accounts with the same results. Push notifications for other apps work fine.

May 17, 2012As of today, Yahoo mail won't push mail from my Yahoo account to either my iPad or my iPhone. I can open the mail app and manually refresh to get new mail, but mail won't push on it's own. I tried the basic trouble shooting steps of removing my Yahoo account from my iPhone and iPad and re-added and also turning push off and on, neither fixed the problem.
I wanted to see if it was a global problem so I created a dummy Yahoo account and added it to my iPhone and push worked for that account, so I know push is working. Now here's the weird part. When I added the dummy Yahoo account to my iPhone, push started working for my actual account. I repeated this with my iPad and it worked there as well.
Thinking things were fixed I removed the dummy Yahoo account and push stopped working on my real account. I added the dummy account back in and push started working for my real account. So basically I need to have a dummy Yahoo account on devices to get push mail to my real account. The opposite is not true, I can delete my real account and the dummy account will still get push mails. I tried leaving the dummy account on the phone, but turning mail off, but that too causes my mail account to stop receiving push notifications.
It looks like when a Yahoo account is added to an iOS device, a message is sent to Apple's push servers indicated the Yahoo email address that was added. Similarly when an account is removed a message is sent to indicate the email account was removed. That way Apple knows if any Yahoo Mail accounts are on the phone and if there aren't any it won't push. That or it can tell Yahoo that there are accounts on the phone that need push email.
At this point I don't know how to get things working without using my work around. I can tell the iPhone/iPad is sending info to Apple when I add my main Yahoo account to the device, but the push to check for new messages isn't coming in unless I add a different Yahoo account to the devices and turn mail on.

Jul 17, 2010Have noticed recently that my Mail is not pushing properly. I just opened my email and I newly received 2 emails from 8:50 over two hours ago. I have been using the phone off and on during this time, in fact about 10 mins in the App store for 10 mins prior surfing around.
Have it setup to my yahoo account, but it only refreshes when I actively open my mail. What am I missing here?

May 9, 2012I'm gonna try to be clear with my problem. I have a Gmail Account working on Microsoft Exchange, for IM messaging I'm using Beejive IM with Push and I'm also using Whatsapp. Before Updating it to iOS 5.1.1 all Push notifications were working flawless, however, after I upgraded it to 5.1.1, I began having troubles. After 1 minute of having the Iphone locked, I don't get any push notification, nor on the email, nor on the Whatsapp, neither on the Beejive. If I unlock it and I re-open one of them, for ex, I go to check my contact list on Beejive, I get all the mails, and all the instant msgs that people had sent to me after I locked my iPhone; it's like, my iPhone was locked for 30 minutes. In those 30 minutes people sent me 4 msgs on whatsapp, 4 msgs on beejive and 4 mails. Once I unlock my iPhone and I go to one of the 3 apps (mail, whatsapp or beejive), I get the 12 items (4 msg from whatsapp, 4 msgs from beejive and 4 mails) at that exactly time. It's crazy, it's like, with this new update push notifications got disabled for every app or what happened to my iPhone on this upgrade? I really need help. WIthout Push, none of them apps works cool for me. I'm using Iphone 4 on a 3G network. I tried restoring it x3, I unistalled the apps, mail, etc and nothing worked.

BB Software :: Push Mail Not Working Properly For Windows?
Jan 11, 2011This is quite an old subject, but it seems to be a recurring problem across versions of Windows Live Messenger handheld client software and Blackberry Internet Service server software. For some time, I used to have no issues with Live Messenger and Push Mail from Hotmail. Now, once again, I am having a huge delay, of several hours, when logged on as "Online" to Windows Live Messenger.
What makes me believe that it is not a Windows Live limitation, by design, due to protocols and notification mechanisms in use, is the fact that I can receive both push mail and instant message notifications, immediately, as long as I am logged on to Windows Live Messenger as "Busy" or "Away". If the protocols in place allowed notifications to only a single service at a time, I believe it should not work regardless of the status on Windows Live Messenger.
I have been using Hotmail for quite a while and most of my friends use Windows Live Messenger, so I would like to keep both working in my BlackBerry. I understand BlackBerry has a commitment to offering broad compatibility, great stability, and better integration than other solutions on the market that appeals to fancy user interfaces and forget about objectivity. Having a mobile platform that can keep both the corporate and consumer world happy is definitely a great advantage. There are several loyal users that would like to keep sharing the proficiency on a common user interface for business and personal use.
I do not often post messages to online forums, but this is an issue that has been annoying me for quite some time and I am really looking forward to a solution. Is anyone experiencing the same behavior with Windows Live Messenger lately? Is RIM looking for a solution?

Mail...then I input my email address and password, press sign in and I get the following error message...'We couldn't find the settings for the account information you entered. Make sure the email address is correct, then select Try Again.'I have tried many times hopping it could be something temporally but I believe it is the operating system issue.

Mar 14, 2012when I log into OVI Mail everything looks fine. Still nearly nothing is working as it should:
- Clicking on Compose Mail I get a circle rotating but nothing more happens
- If I want to check the checkbox to delete some mails the mail opens rather than checking the checkbox
- Clicking on Reply/Delete nothing happens.
- Logout doesn't work
- could go on with some other quite serious bugs as well
- This is the same for 4 different PCs using IE on WinXP and Win7, Firefox on Win7, Firefox and Chrome on Ubuntu 11.10, no help deleting temporary data That has happened before some weeks ago, but then worked again - then also a search field was available in the web interface. Now the search field is gone again and not to much seems to work.Besides the web interface there are some other issues:
- Outlook can not connect most of the times
- My N8 can not connect most of the times (neither 3G nor WiFi)
This makes OVI mail basically useless - I'm thinking of changing to a different mail provider because it OVI mail is very unreliable to me.
Motorola Droid X :: Corporate Sync Push E-mail Stopped Working Over Weekend?
Apr 19, 2011Our facility uses Exchange Server 2003, and I have not had problems with my Corporate Sync e-mail since receiving Froyo back in September. If I was sitting at my desk, I would consistently get a push notification on my phone a few seconds before I saw a new e-mail pop up on the Web Access client on my PC. It was great.All of a sudden, I am getting nothing. I missed several important e-mails over the weekend, and my phone will not show new messages unless I open the E-mail client and manually Refresh.
I have removed/re-added the Account a couple of times, but that doesn't seem to do any good. I have a colleague who has an Incredible, and his work e-mails are working just fine, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem with the Exchange server. The login/password aren't wrong, since I can Refresh and receive my new messages, but why would the push e-mail just halt? Are there known problems on the Blur servers? If so, is there a way we can find out about that without having to just miss a bunch of e-mails?

Sep 9, 2014I recently changed my password on Yahoo.com, and I started having trouble accessing my email using the mail app on the iPhone 5. It was displaying "cannot get mail" and couldn't connect to the server, even after I updated my password on the phone. It seemed like it was reverting to my old password, even after I successfully changed it.Â
I switched to trying to access Yahoo through Mail - Other and it worked. I can receive my e-mails, but now it is not letting me send outgoing mails. It says "doesn't accept relays".

IPhone :: Blacksnow Quit Working Today
Apr 19, 2010Yesterday my cell service dropped has it has been doing every once in a while lately except that this time around I had to reboot the my iphone unlocked 3gs (3.1.3) for it to come back. Today it did it again, I rebooted, the service never came back and my wifi went away.
I used to have the wifi problem before so I uninstalled blacksn0w and it came back. How ever, even after several attempts at reinstalling blacksn0w and several reboots in between, my cell service is gone for good.
Any advice? This has never happened to me before, I am ready to unjailbreak and start all over again, but I would rather not.
Also, every time I install blacksn0w now the phone says " Searching..." and my wifi stops working. It is also worth noting that I have not installed anything new at all on my phone lately.
Anyone have any wisdom for me?

Jun 7, 2010This is really bothering me.I have a yahoo mail account set up on my phone - It has been on there for over a year - it has always worked this way - If I get an email (the phone goes "bing") and i read it on the computer - and responded and delete it on the computer it would be removed from the phone the next time i looked. Recently I began noticing that the message is not being delated from the phone if I delete it from the mailbox, and I can't figure out why.
Basically I want to be able to read the message on the computer and hit delete and for it do the same thing on my blackberry and vise versa. Now it seems to work if I delete the message on the BB then it will not be in the Mailbox on the computer.

Jun 11, 2010Every time i go to set an mailbox (i.e gmail) i just enter the password and the device just take me to the screen to choose E-mail (Ovi Mail, Yahoo, Gmail...).. Nothing happens.

Jul 5, 2010I switched over from my blackberry bold 9700 to the iPhone 4 and as much as I love it, I can't stand being without my push e-mail. I have my g-mail setup to push my e-mail which works pretty well, but with my bold 9700 I was using BIS and I was able to get all of my 5 different e-mails pushed to my phone. Is there a service or something I have to sign up for that will instantly push my e-mail to my phone? Right now I set it up so my other e-mail accounts are retrieved by my g-mail account but it takes a while for the g-mail to retrieve the e-mails from my other accounts using POP3 and then it finally pushes them to my phone.
