My Yahoo was working. Then I installed my work email with Corporate Sync. Yahoo worked for a few hours and then would not update. I have deleted and re-added. I can send emails from my Yahoo account to my work email but cannot download and view the emails in my Yahoo inbox. I have a Photon 4G. I have tried all steps through WI-FI, 4G, and 3G - with same result.
View 6 RepliesIm not sure why since ive reset my photon the only issue im having is downloading .doc files - the attachment says unsupported file type. Ive downloaded apps like readers and a different yahoo app but no luck - still unable to download those attachments. I havnt found any know issues or anything to support what im saying so maybe Im the only one.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSince I did the current update I'm no longer getting my Yahoo (which is my primary account) email notifications (I was before the update). If I go in to check email I have messages. My Comcast accounts works fine. Background data is enabled.
Under "email settings" I have "Data Push" selected ( I even tried it with it unselected). I have fetch schedule "every 15 minutes" checked. I did notice that when I go into "Folder Sync" All the folders say "manual". I've also tried several battery pulls. If I go and open the email apps it does download the emails.
Have Photon for 10 months. Did firmware update (45.4.13.MB855.Sprint.en.US) a few weeks ago, no change in operation. A few days ago, phone stopped retrieving mail from Android mail app and from Yahoo Mail app. I've always had "Battery & data manager" > Battery Mode > (set to) Maximum battery saver. Always retrieved mail as appropriate for mode.
Tried nighttime saver and performance mode. Pulled battery. Still no mail retrieval. If I open mail apps, they will retrieve mail, but not automatically as before.
I have recently downloaded the new Yahoo mail app and after doing so I no longer receive a notification that I have received an email. I use light flow and it is set up properly for all other notifications.

Tried forums but no concrete solution.

It now says "Further plans coming soon".I have no idea what this means.The optimist in me says that this means we are skipping ICS and going straight to JB.The pessimist in me says that Moto would rather just offer us $100 and not worry about supporting the Photon 4G anymore. I do hope we get some more definitive news so my two halves don't have to keep arguing.

I can't think of any settings I've changed or new apps that I've installed that could explain the sudden change. I use Outlook mail if that makes a difference. I use the Share "line and dot" link withing my photo gallery, choose the photo, then email, then size of photo, and send.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Torch on Vodafone UK which I've been using for several months very happily. I had set up two email addresses - a hotmail.com account and an email account with my own domain name (name@namesurname.co.uk). Up until this morning they were working just fine.
This morning I noticed that a lot of emails were coming into Outlook on my PC but not coming to my handset. I sent test messages from my handset and they never arrived in Outlook. So I resent the service books, got the usual "set up successful" message, but still nothing. I did a hard reset, but no change.I logged in to Vodafone's BIS site and removed the mydomain email account, as in the past when I have had problems removing it and re-adding it seemed to fix it. However, now I can't put it back on! Even when I add the additional data via the website I get the following message:
An error occurred during email account validation. I tried the same process via the handset and get a similar error message:Invalid email address or password. Verify your email address and password. If the error persists, contact namesurname.co.uk (i.e. my domain)
Now, I know that the password is correct as I am using the same one to log into my webmail and to get emails in Outlook. I have checked the email server in cPanel for my domain. So as far as I'm concerned all of the info is correct.
What else can I try? I've set up a forwarder for my domain mail to a newly created vodafone mail account in the meantime, but it's not ideal as this doesn't have the "delete on mailbox and handheld" option. Unfortunately I've tried calling Vodafone twice - the first person I spoke to said he would ring me back in under two hours, and that was five hours ago. The second person was far from helpful. Please help, this is very frustrating!
(Update: I have also changed the password for my email account to ensure that it is DEFINITELY the right one, and deleted almost all the messages from the inbox (there were some over 8MB which may have been causing the problem). I have also completely deleted my BIS account and started again from scratch. Still no joy.)
I think this subject has been talked about before, but I can't find anywhere that has a successful result to my "problem". My email has been working fine, then nothing. I've got an Aol account for my email but they are not getting sent to my BB Torch anymore. I get the message "Your device had a problem connecting to the server" when I try to access the email account in Setup. I've tried: Taking the battery out ... Waiting.... We purchased these phones so that our engineers and sales guys can access their emails away from the office.Earlier this week our email server was taken offline for maintenance and all the Blackberrys asked us to validate our email accounts. It has asked us to do this before and we simply re-entered the details and away we went.Not this time though. It used to display a choice of "Widget Clock" or Webtop, and it no longer does. Maybe I clicked the don't ask again box last time? I do not remember, it's been a few weeks since I used the dock. Anyway I am SURE this is a simple setting somewhere, but I cannot, for the life of me, find it to turn the selection screen back on. I cleared the cache and settings, still no selection screen.

I received message saying I needed to validate my email address and password because I am no longer receiving emails to my phone. I tried to log in and the username and password don't work. I've never had to use this password and email until now, therefore is should not have been changed. I don't know how to fix the settings at all especially since I can't log into my settings!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI may have stopped "google framwork services" last week, but I do not think this is related.Basically, my gmail app no longer gets push notifications or syncs automatically.I have android 5.0.1. nexus 5 and the latest gmail app versions. I have checked all settings in the app, and made sure that all my sync settings are enabled. I can see that the last sync of gmail was over 30 minutes ago, yet I've sent emails to my gmail account since then and they appear on the web version.The app won;t show new emails until I manually refresh within the app.
I googled a bit and saw that some people with a similar issue dod a "factory reset" to solve. that seems a bit extreme. Is there any other way around this. I've done all the usual things, cleared data in gmail app and forced stop and restarted phone.I even removed my google account and readded it. nothing worked.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHaving trouble connecting to my sbcglobal (managed by yahoo) email account all of a sudden.As of a few days ago, my new emails have not been appearing in my inbox even after refreshing. So I went into "my accounts" and into yahoo mail icon and deleted/reentered my password so I could connect. I kept getting error message "login to the account failed, please try again". So I then decided to completely remove the account under "my accounts" menu icon so that I can readd it. I then tried to readd it in two areas:
1. Under "email" menu icon I tried to re-setup the "yahoo mail" account- no luck, still received error message
2. Under "email" menu icon I tied to re-setup the "yahoo" account, chose already have a yahoo account, click sign in, enter my email address and password, check the "mail" and "sync" options, and then done. Nothing happens. So I go into the main menu option "my accounts"- I see my sbc account listed with the word sync under it. I go into it and it says it has been synced.Nothing has been updated. Prior to all this when I clicked the main menu "email" icon- my sbc/yahoo acct inbox pulled up automatically. Now when I click the "email" icon - I am prompted to setup an account from the services listed below: corporate sync, facebook, twitter, yahoo mail, yahoo, etc. I had my yahoo/sbc mail as my default account which is why when I previously clicked the "email" icon- my sbc/yahoo account inbox pulled up.I do not want to set up the yahoo droid application- I really want tp synch the account directly.How do I adjust the incoming/outgoing server settings on this phone. I see in other forums for similar issues that they can be adjusted. but where?
One of the big benefits of these phones is the ability to stay on top of email. I have a yahoo account and I have it loaded into my messaging app. Over the year that I've had this phone my yahoo occasionally has become deathly silent. Of coarse the android is not updating or even connecting to my account. This happened on average every couple of months. I've done a few things to try to get it back including deleting and reloading the account, updating the android os, messing with email settings. It usually eventually comes back on its own...within a couple of days. Its now getting to the point where I lose connectivity every week or two and its gone for that much time. This is really annoying and I don't keep on top of my emails nearly as effectively. I need to fix this. I'm not seeing alot of posts with the same issue though.

Now it keeps pulling up some emails. but not all. Also, non of the archive folders are there.We both have a gmail acct. too and those are updating fine.

When I click on FOLDERS, it doesn't show the few additonal Folders that exist in my YAHOO account online. The only ones displayable are: Inbox, Trash, Outbox, and Sent. These appear to be only Folders ON my phone -- not what exists in my online YAHOO account.. On my previous phone, there use to be a way to display those other folders ..
Maybe it's time to look at another email APP ..
I had setup and Active Exchange account for my Gmail (this way I could also sync my mail, calendar, and todo lists easily). Everything was working smoothly, until I installed the Mircrosoft Apps update yesterday. Now I can no longer get this to work. It says my Inbox is empty and never finds any mail. It did work yesterday after I deleted the mail account re setup the active exchange account. But then last night I turned my phone off and this morning when I had turned it on, the account email inbox was all blank/empty. The Calendar was still synced though.Now I am trying to re setup the account, and its not working at all.(Nokia E7 Belle phone)
