I have removed and readded my Yahoo email account. I can send a email from my yahoo account on my phone but I cannot receive emails on my yahoo account. The little icon shows that it is trying to load but it will not do it. I've had this issue since I updated my phone on June 2.

About two weeks ago my yahoo mail stopped syncing in the default mail app with an authentication error. I saw that other people were experiencing the same thing and that it might have been because of a server issue. However, my account still won't sync. The Yahoo app is able to get to my email fine, so I know it's not a password problem. I've tried to delete accounts and clear out all data from the mail app, but it still won't work. My corporate sync account works fine in the same app. I tried to add my gmail account to the email app and it had the same problem even though the Gmail app can connect fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOne of the big benefits of these phones is the ability to stay on top of email. I have a yahoo account and I have it loaded into my messaging app. Over the year that I've had this phone my yahoo occasionally has become deathly silent. Of coarse the android is not updating or even connecting to my account. This happened on average every couple of months. I've done a few things to try to get it back including deleting and reloading the account, updating the android os, messing with email settings. It usually eventually comes back on its own...within a couple of days. Its now getting to the point where I lose connectivity every week or two and its gone for that much time. This is really annoying and I don't keep on top of my emails nearly as effectively. I need to fix this. I'm not seeing alot of posts with the same issue though.

When I click on FOLDERS, it doesn't show the few additonal Folders that exist in my YAHOO account online. The only ones displayable are: Inbox, Trash, Outbox, and Sent. These appear to be only Folders ON my phone -- not what exists in my online YAHOO account.. On my previous phone, there use to be a way to display those other folders ..
Maybe it's time to look at another email APP ..
Since I did the current update I'm no longer getting my Yahoo (which is my primary account) email notifications (I was before the update). If I go in to check email I have messages. My Comcast accounts works fine. Background data is enabled.
Under "email settings" I have "Data Push" selected ( I even tried it with it unselected). I have fetch schedule "every 15 minutes" checked. I did notice that when I go into "Folder Sync" All the folders say "manual". I've also tried several battery pulls. If I go and open the email apps it does download the emails.
Is push for Yahoo Mail actually supported through the built in e-mail client? I have it enabled in the preferences, but it doesn't seem to work. I thought it was working when I first setup the account, but I may have been imagining things. I've gone through the process of deleting the account multiple times and also clearing the mobile settings/permissions in my yahoo account profile.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWell the last week or so I have noticed that my email account is not syncing with my Razr Maxx HD - It is an outlook account - it also does the same thing with my Yahoo account as well I tried looking in settings for sync frequency but there is not option to set - I know on previouse phones there has been option for it but not this one.. Other than deleting the account and re-doing it or restoring the phone, because those two dont work.

The coporate email is one of the main functions that I use my phone for, so its very important that it works correctly. I have tried it off WIFI and on WIFI with the same issues. It just periodically loses connection with the server and gives error message that says "Couldn't find connection to server". Like I said, this may last for only couple of hours or most of the day and then it just starts working again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone doesn't consistently sync, even though I have push email enabled. Happens when I'm both connected to wifi and on 4G/3G. When it's not syncing, mail doesn't even sync when I open the app; I have to manually do it. Completely unacceptable, never had this problem on any other smartphone I've owned (which have all been HTCs). Maybe this is helpful, but the gmail widget and the email widget also do not consistently sync on my device. Maybe there's a trend here that points to a larger problem or solution. But I' m not worried about the widgets; I just want to be able to get my email onto my device, which should be happening with no issues.

The only issue I have now is a new one - I cannot add my Yahoo! Mail account back onto my phone. I am able to log into it via the web on both my phone and PC. I can login using the Yahoo! Mail App (which i really don't like). But I cannot add it using the "Accounts" options built into the phone.People have said that maybe it's Yahoo! thinking the account was hacked... so I've changed my password twice. I've done battery pulls before trying to re-add the account. I've tried everything I can think of short of doing either another factory reset or having verizon provide me with another new phone (actually they are sending me certified-preowned after they took my brand new Droid Pro and I later found out that wasn't necessary and I've had more issues with this phone than my original)

I guess my question would be is there a problem with yahoo servers or is motorola and yahoo just not playing nice? I keep getting emails in triplicate and Im not sure what causes it. Some days it will work just fine and I'll get my email correctly and other times I wake up with like 30 emails but there will be just repeat messages in triplicate.

I have verified that my mail account is working fine via pc and was able to check via the web browser on my Bionic. I removed the account and now when I go to add it back via the add accounts and selecting the "Yahoo Mail" option, I can't get passed the e-mail address password screen. It sits there for a bit with "adding your Yahoo! Mail account" and then gives me the message of "Login to the accunt failed, please try again." I am using the correct password and have been able to add this account manually, which I don't prefer since the way I am trying gives me a different icon for Yahoo. Does anyone know why this is happening?? Like I said, Yahoo Mail just started acting up yesterday and now it won't work and play well with others using the pre-defined mail setup in the "Add Accounts" area for Yahoo! Mail.

It came up as a sync error.I then enter my passwords for both accounts and they then restore only to immediately give me a sync error. Tried deleting the email app cache and data,no avail. Deleted and added the accounts and got the same thing. I then logged into the verizonwireless website and deleted and added them on there. Same issue.An error pops up asking me to select one of the accounts below to re-validate my account.The account name is based on an existing email address which is associated with your verizon account. View 4 Replies View RelatedHaving trouble connecting to my sbcglobal (managed by yahoo) email account all of a sudden.As of a few days ago, my new emails have not been appearing in my inbox even after refreshing. So I went into "my accounts" and into yahoo mail icon and deleted/reentered my password so I could connect. I kept getting error message "login to the account failed, please try again". So I then decided to completely remove the account under "my accounts" menu icon so that I can readd it. I then tried to readd it in two areas:
1. Under "email" menu icon I tried to re-setup the "yahoo mail" account- no luck, still received error message
2. Under "email" menu icon I tied to re-setup the "yahoo" account, chose already have a yahoo account, click sign in, enter my email address and password, check the "mail" and "sync" options, and then done. Nothing happens. So I go into the main menu option "my accounts"- I see my sbc account listed with the word sync under it. I go into it and it says it has been synced.Nothing has been updated. Prior to all this when I clicked the main menu "email" icon- my sbc/yahoo acct inbox pulled up automatically. Now when I click the "email" icon - I am prompted to setup an account from the services listed below: corporate sync, facebook, twitter, yahoo mail, yahoo, etc. I had my yahoo/sbc mail as my default account which is why when I previously clicked the "email" icon- my sbc/yahoo account inbox pulled up.I do not want to set up the yahoo droid application- I really want tp synch the account directly.How do I adjust the incoming/outgoing server settings on this phone. I see in other forums for similar issues that they can be adjusted. but where?
both me and my wife have the Atrix 4G and both have not been getting update of our Yahoo e-mail, for the same acct., since 1/11/12. I deleted the acct. and re added it. Now it keeps pulling up some emails. but not all. Also, non of the archive folders are there.We both have a gmail acct. too and those are updating fine.

Is someone trying to sign into my account or does it do this when someone has sent me an email?
