I have recently downloaded the new Yahoo mail app and after doing so I no longer receive a notification that I have received an email. I use light flow and it is set up properly for all other notifications.
View 1 RepliesSince I did the current update I'm no longer getting my Yahoo (which is my primary account) email notifications (I was before the update). If I go in to check email I have messages. My Comcast accounts works fine. Background data is enabled.
Under "email settings" I have "Data Push" selected ( I even tried it with it unselected). I have fetch schedule "every 15 minutes" checked. I did notice that when I go into "Folder Sync" All the folders say "manual". I've also tried several battery pulls. If I go and open the email apps it does download the emails.
I have the droid razr maxx and I used the stock razr account setup to setup my yahoo email. I guess my question would be is there a problem with yahoo servers or is motorola and yahoo just not playing nice? I keep getting emails in triplicate and Im not sure what causes it. Some days it will work just fine and I'll get my email correctly and other times I wake up with like 30 emails but there will be just repeat messages in triplicate.

Is someone trying to sign into my account or does it do this when someone has sent me an email? I closed the email over a week ago, and I know that it is there for 90mdyas due to security issues if it has any. I just want this gone and off my phone NOW!!!!!

View 6 Replies View RelatedNew to the Maxx and having a problem - I use the default Yahoo Email APP. When I click on FOLDERS, it doesn't show the few additonal Folders that exist in my YAHOO account online. The only ones displayable are: Inbox, Trash, Outbox, and Sent. These appear to be only Folders ON my phone -- not what exists in my online YAHOO account.. On my previous phone, there use to be a way to display those other folders ..
Maybe it's time to look at another email APP ..
Is push for Yahoo Mail actually supported through the built in e-mail client? I have it enabled in the preferences, but it doesn't seem to work. I thought it was working when I first setup the account, but I may have been imagining things. I've gone through the process of deleting the account multiple times and also clearing the mobile settings/permissions in my yahoo account profile.

Now I deleted the account from the phone and tried adding it again. It says "authentication failed, verify username and password". I'm 100% certain both are correct.

Motorola's support section says that Optimum recommends using a browser to access mobile email (what???? I have to go get it??? It won't come to me???) but then provides the settings to use in the email app. Using auto configuration, I'm receiving my email in seconds, but I can't send email from the phone. I've tried to configure it manually (the automatic configuration provides the wrong name for the outgoing server) but so far, no combination of settings has resulted in my ability to send an email from optimum on my Droid Razr.

I can send emails from my Yahoo account to my work email but cannot download and view the emails in my Yahoo inbox. I have a Photon 4G. View 15 Replies View RelatedI did a factory reset on my phone about 3 weeks ago now. I was having other issues that the hard reset resolved. The only issue I have now is a new one - I cannot add my Yahoo! Mail account back onto my phone. I am able to log into it via the web on both my phone and PC. I can login using the Yahoo! Mail App (which i really don't like). But I cannot add it using the "Accounts" options built into the phone.People have said that maybe it's Yahoo! thinking the account was hacked... so I've changed my password twice. I've done battery pulls before trying to re-add the account. I've tried everything I can think of short of doing either another factory reset or having verizon provide me with another new phone (actually they are sending me certified-preowned after they took my brand new Droid Pro and I later found out that wasn't necessary and I've had more issues with this phone than my original)

I have verified that my mail account is working fine via pc and was able to check via the web browser on my Bionic. I removed the account and now when I go to add it back via the add accounts and selecting the "Yahoo Mail" option, I can't get passed the e-mail address password screen. It sits there for a bit with "adding your Yahoo! Mail account" and then gives me the message of "Login to the accunt failed, please try again." I am using the correct password and have been able to add this account manually, which I don't prefer since the way I am trying gives me a different icon for Yahoo. Does anyone know why this is happening?? Like I said, Yahoo Mail just started acting up yesterday and now it won't work and play well with others using the pre-defined mail setup in the "Add Accounts" area for Yahoo! Mail.

It now runs on android version 4.0.4 The graphics seem to have got an adrenalin boost... :) I wanted to get some more clarity on the following:as the task manager app been done away with? In the earlier version (2.3.6) there used to be an app called task manager. Here you could opt to close applications automatically once you move away from them. I presume it was to ensure optimisation of battery usage. In the new version the only way to accomplish the same seems to bring up the list of running apps - by long pressing the home key - and then swiping off the app - which you dont want running in the background - from the screen. Wouldnt the automatic closure of apps be a better option? Is there any way to get back the automatic closure feature in the current version?
In the previous version one could personalise the notification ring tone for the arrival of mails in the corporate mail inbox. This feature seems absent in the current version. I wanted to know if it still can be done? A distinct ring tone for mail arrivals is a good nice-to-have feature. Thirdly, i observed that the battery consumption seems to have increased post the ICS install. Is it just me or have others also noticed the same?
My Droid Razr HD lost sync with both my gmail and yahoo email today. It came up as a sync error.I then enter my passwords for both accounts and they then restore only to immediately give me a sync error. Tried deleting the email app cache and data,no avail. Deleted and added the accounts and got the same thing. I then logged into the verizonwireless website and deleted and added them on there. Same issue.An error pops up asking me to select one of the accounts below to re-validate my account.The account name is based on an existing email address which is associated with your verizon account. It also pops up sometimes that username and password are incorrect which they aren't.

I saw that other people were experiencing the same thing and that it might have been because of a server issue. However, my account still won't sync. The Yahoo app is able to get to my email fine, so I know it's not a password problem. I've tried to delete accounts and clear out all data from the mail app, but it still won't work. My corporate sync account works fine in the same app. I tried to add my gmail account to the email app and it had the same problem even though the Gmail app can connect fine.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI was running short of space on my MicroSDHC card. I had about 1.5 gigs of storage left on the card. I went to take a video and noticed that I could only take a video in DVD quality or worse. There was no longer an option to take video in 780p or HD+ (1080p). I thought that happened because I didn't have much space left on my SD card. I later purchased a 32G Sandisk MicroSDHC. I thought that I would get back my HD and HD+ video options back after I installed the new card. This did not happen. I no longer can take HD+ video anymore. My settings in the video record mode no longer list HDor HD+. how to get the HD settings back? I tried clearing the cache and data in the camera app, but that didn't help.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI am not at all happy with ICS. To me, the upgrade to ICS is a nothing more than a bunch of pretty colors and a few new animations. In actuality, however, I think that the upgrade delivered little in terms of improvements. In fact, I wish I could undo the upgrade and go back two weeks, to a time in which I felt the Razr Maxx was virtually flawless and was the best phone I ever had.Elsewhere in this owner's forum I have written about the way in which business contact names are now scrambeled in the contact list. Others are having problems with battery life, overheating, poor navigation, etc. However, the biggest failure of the ICS upgrade, as I see it, is the loss of the ability to view Flash encoded videos in either the native browser or in Dolphin.
With all of the hype about the upcoming release of ICS, why didn't anyone warn the customers that Flash would no longer work with ICS and that this upgrade would essentially hobble their device? Motorola did mention this fact buried in a pre-release notification, but it was easily missed:Due to Adobe's discontinuation of Flash development, Flash Player is no longer preloaded and is not available for download from Google Play to this device. Existing installations of Flash Player may or may not play Flash video properly. Alternatively, the new HTML5 standard is supported for Web video.
Recently my Razr Max phone updated to ICS, and since then, all JAVA apps no longer work, even downloaded Chrome and enable java scripting. Brought to Verizon tech support they checked and confirm it was enable but when trying any site that uses java, comes up with message unable to find Java Plugin. Before update, all my websites worked ok with Java, including a Citrix using Java.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Google music player with songs stored on my SD card in a directory I created (MyMusic"artists""albums") and they are in MP3 format (copied to desktop using RealPlayer). Prior to ICS, no problems and all was fine. After I upgraded to ICS, now when I look under Artists they all display however when I display Albums only 4 show: Unknown album/Ozzy Osbourne, Unknown album/Unknown artists, comedy cuts/Unknown artist and notifications/Paul Oakenfold. If I select an artist to play, it ends up playing all songs as the majority of the music now appears under the first album above. I trying to find an index file or something that may have gotten corrupt to delete but no luck. All songs play fine, just lost the ability to organize these as they appear on the SD card.
