I have 2 e-mail accounts set-up but neither one is synching. I have selected "Auto Synch" for both. When I go into "Tools" under the title "Synch Account" it says "Master synch has been turned off" although the green on button clearly shows. How do i set the synch so i receive my e-mails immediately?
On my Verizon G4, in an effort to improve battery life, I've changed the sync schedule for my Comcast email to every hour. I can't seem to locate a place to change my Gmail sync schedule similarly. under Accounts, I've located a way to turn sync off and on for Gmail, but that's it. Am I missing something?
I have my Work email to Fetch Menually. However, it is updating in no particular time frame. Once and a while it will just let me know I have a new email. I am assuming it should not retrieve any messages unless I open the email app.
I have my email set to push/fetch every 15 minutes and it does nothing. I have to remember to refresh my email to get new mail. I tried changing the schedule to every 30 minutes, but it still doesn't work.
Back in my early Android days I had an app that allowed you to set complex scripts to run based on certain events. Much of the functionality has been incorporated into the OS now, but there's one thing that I can't do - it's basically a secondary DND "lite." I want to set a schedule to silence the phone ringer only. For example, from 8-4 AM I don't want to hear my ringer, but I want to hear notifications and texts (actually, I don't want people on the other end of my various conference calls to hear my ringtone.) I already have DND set up at nighttime, so is there any way I can accomplish this either natively in the OS or with an app?
I want to use do not disturb with a schedule. I had blocking on with my S5 and it would start blocking at bedtime and turn itself back off in the morning. Do not disturb sounds like it should do the same thing, and it does turn on at night, but it will not shut itself off the next morning. It definitely keeps blocking calls. Is there any solution, besides the next software update (I hope)?
In anticipation of ICS I'm trying to backup my wife's SGSII. I'm using Kies as I don't know if there's any viable alternative. My problem is with backing up the Schedule (calendar?) component. All the other bits seem to backup ok.However, just selecting Schedule (on its own or with other parts) it takes ages 'preparing' and then gets to 98% before hanging and then failing due to some unexpected error.I'm on the latest version of Kies, and Windows 7 64bit (tried on two computers, both W7 64).
Every time I get a text message I also receive it in an email to my gmail that is associated with my google account. I have looked all over the internet and have found instructions on how to turn off the sync feature on s4, s3, etc. The s5 is completely different and does not have an easy "Text Sync" check box to turn the feature off. How do I get this turned off!!!
Ever since i got the galaxy s5 mini my emails never synced automatically. After a couple of weeks i disabled unified Daemon (draining too much battery). Today i went into the settings>>accounts>>email. It then lists my email and below it it says "sync disabled" in grey. I cant seen to change this. There is also "common settings" below this and within that I changed them all and still no luck! I don't know if unified daemon has anything to do with it but it did occur even before I disabled unified dameon.
Well I ditched the iphone 3gs and jumped in with the Samsung S2 today but I can't get it to sync with my email. I'm from British Columbia Canada and am with Telus, I run Outlook 2007. I keep getting "setup could not finish" with both the automatic and manual setup using IMAP, POP and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync when setting up through the email icon on the S2. Iphone was no problem with email.
Just upgraded from an S4 where I could set sync schedule to every 5 mins. Now told minimum possible is 15 mins or else have to set to manual. Used to be able to rely on mobile for alerts re important emails if away from computer and be able to get immediate updates as soon as turning back on after meetings etc. Is there any way around this?
This is probably a configuration issue on my end that I cannot figure out the answer to....but when I am out of WiFi range, or I turn WiFi off my email wont sync or send and I get the error "Network Not Available: The message will be sent when the network is available" As soon as I turn wifi back on , it's fine. Is their a setting that tells an email account to only sync on WiFi? Or only send when on Wifi? It seems to ignore the 4G LTE network.
I have my phone configured to use Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync which retrieves emails, calendar & tasks.I only want the calendar to be retrieved and not the emails.I can't see a way to do this, although my previous HTC Hero on Android 2.1 was able to do this.
I tried going to settings>data usage>settings auto sync is checked. I then tried another suggestion: delete my email account and re-add, now the blasted thing says it can't authenticate my account...
The only way to transfer contacts, as far as I've read, is that i have to import my contacts into my gmail account. I don't want to use my gmail account to hold all my contacts because I used Outlook.com for emails. If i were to ever make a new contact on my phone, it then wouldn't sync with my windows live acct. Am I missing something?I should just be able to hook up my email on my phone and have it sync everything, not just email
I have an SLS Galaxy 5. I am current on system updates. I am using the Email app for my exchange server email. Whenever I hit refresh, and often when I simply open the app, I get a message at the bottom of the screen that says 'Email sync turned off.' I have go to through the process of 'Manage Accounts, select account, Sync Settings, and check the 'Sync Email' box every time. Then it syncs, I read my email, exit the app, and I start the process over again the next time I open the app.
A few weeks back I started noticing that my e-mail (both the standard e-mail and my e-mail exchange) won't update for hours at a time. I either need to restart the phone or do a manual sync, and then it will check my e-mails again for a while. Then it goes back to not checking. I've gone into the settings on both accounts and made sure that I've selected PUSH and also that I have not selected to only check during peak times.
I just did a software update on my S5 and now my IMAP q.com email account only updates like 2 times a day even when the settings are set for every 30 minutes. It won't sync when I press the refresh button. My work IMAP email works fine.
Using 5.02 and the email client only syncs when I update the time period or incoming server settings. I have two other accounts, one pop and one exchange, that work without issue. This imap account won't sync. If I delete and reinstall it works for a while and then the problem comes up again.
I want an application for my E72 to schedule sms sending...I did a search for this on the forum but all I got was to google "schedule sms" and so I did...But now to my next question... WHICH app is the best and most simple for this feature?
Has anyone tried any and can post some personal experiences?I get a lot of different hits but I am unsure of which app to get...
Is there an availability schedule for 9900 Bold? It looks like AT&T still has not gotten it while they were the first to get 9700. T-Mo already has it for $300 and Verizon for $250.I have been on AT&T for a long time now, and I am considering switching to Verizon, but their expensive plans worry me a bit.
I was going to put in app section, but there are no quality apps that i found for doing this.does anyone know how to send a sms message at a scheduled time? ie a happy birthday at 12am to someone?i tried textlater - and when the person recieves the text it comes from a 000-0001 number, kinda defeats the purpose.
How do I turn off a Schedule Close Down of my BB. It seems to come up every couple of days. I can't find any tab that will enable me to prevent this close down.
From time to time, I experience that my Xperia X10 does not automatically sync e-mail accounts (using the supplied/standard e-mail application). I've set up a number of e-mail acocunts (6) with different update rates ranging from 15 to 60 minutes. I can go in to one of the accounts, whereby it syncs and I can see that I have received a number of new e-mails (for a period more than 6-12 hours, without receiving any type of notification.
This is really annoying since I miss important emails. What can be done to ensure that they sync automatically and that I receive notifications?
I bought the X10 mini pro simply because I love SE phones and I wanted to have my office e-mail with me where ever I go but I have been so disappointed. It's never been possible tp set up my e-mail on the Roadsync application from Android 2.1 there is this error -1002 that I get any time I try to Synchronize my mails and this is getting me crazy; one of the most important reason I bought the the X10 mini pro - get my corporate e-mails is becoming impossible. When it is connected on WiFi, it does sync all my emails but immediately it is switched to 3G all the mails in the inbox disappears and it's not able to sync again.
I feel like I should be able to schedule meetings and calls for specific contacts from the contact information screen. No button is present for his on my screen. I want to be able to look up "Bill Smith" and see his information and then schedule a call or meeting with him from that screen.
