View 3 RepliesFor the last 2 days I have been getting a notification sound (that I've never heard before) when I get a new email and it continues to go off until I actually open my email. I have checked every setting I can think of and no luck.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S5 on Verizon. I currently use the gmail app for my personal email and the email service on the phone for my work email. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to turn off notifications for the work email. They show up in both the status bar and as the number of emails I have on the email icon. I have tried going to settings through the email app itself, and I think I have unchecked everything there. I have also tried going through application manager. When I go through the application manager, there is a box to check that says "show notifications", but it's checked and will not let me UNcheck it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've set my gmail account as the default mail-account on my x10 mini pro, but the phone doesn't seem to reteive the mails automatically. I thought that when I set the sync-schedule to once an hour, then the phone would check my gmailaccount for new mails and notify me. I've tested this and the only time I get a notification is when I manually tell the phones mail-client to sync. Am I just a stupid user that donät know how to work the phone, or do I have to set up a sync-schedule for gmail?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAny way to make sure all notifications stay in sync sound and vibrate wise? I have always just used the volume keys but with the settings icon allowing you to change different volumes for different notifications it is causing problems.
I think the ability to change individual notifications is a solid option, I would also like a way to change them in sync. There are time where I think I have silenced the phone and a certain notification still has sound. I guess a widget could work but I usually like to only use the keys.
So i don't fully understand what the sync toggle button in the notification center of the galaxy s6 does. What does it actually do? And if i turn it off what happens?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt's a really basic thing, i go into sounds and notifications, ringtones and sounds, email, tap on the email address i want to set, i change the notification sound to what i want, i hear the preview and i'm done. HOWEVER, it will not play that sound. no matter what i do it plays the little bike bell. I've tried to change it directly from email settings, no matter what i do the sound wont change and it wont vibrate. ringtone for phone and text, and everything else changes fine. just not email. i've rebooted, and cleaned cache partition.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my Galaxy S6 everytime I get a new email there is an email icon just below the notification panel. is there any way to turn this off? I already recieve a sound, and a pop up of the email, and there is an indicator of new email on my email icon on the home screen, so I don't need yet another notification.
Same situation with text messages. I would just like to disable the notifications that appear below the notification panel.
I'd like to be able to identify whether im getting a text versus a email by the notification sound on my Samsung s5

I use the phone alarm clock at night and use airplane at night to turn anything off so I'm not receiving notifications for texts, emails and other things. Somehow, occasionally an email gets through and I get a notification. This happened today a 430am and woke me up (3 hours before I actually needed to get up!)
I have the GS2, in the social hub my home emails appear, it is displaying I have 16 unread mails, I cannot find any unread emails anywhere! when new mail appears that total goes up to say 23, I open 7 and it goes back to 16 again!!

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I get a new text or email if I unlock my phone and touch the email or message app and read or delete it, it still shows the notification in the upper left. If I then lock my phone and unlock it again it still shows the notification on the lock screen. I have gone and cleared the cache and data from the message app and restarted. The only way it goes away is if I swipe it away on the lock screen or select it from the lock screen and view/delete after it opens.

Is there a way to turn off the "cellular data is turned off for application" notifications? I play most games in single user mode and don't use social apps, so I don't see any need for cellular data or wi-fi to be active for every app. The notification pop-ups get really annoying. Is there a way to kill them?

On the app icons for Facebook and Email, I have orange circles with a number in them showing new emails or Facebook notifications. I want to make the orange FB notifications DISAPPEAR. My belief is that since I see that orange # show up so frequently, with every new comment to a FB post, that my device must be pushing notifications and checking FB every 10 minutes, wearing down my battery. So I would like to end that.
I have already:
1.Gone to App Settings > Refresh Interval and said NEVER
2.Gone to App Settings > Notifications and choose INACTIVE
3.Gone to Account Settings > Notifications > Mobile Push and UNCHECKED everything
I have also gone to Device Settings > Applications > Application Manager > Facebook and UNCHECKED Show Notifications.
The same orange circle with number of new emails show on my email icon, but I don't mind that so much. However, if I can disable it, perhaps I can find my way to disable on Facebook.
I have 2 e-mail accounts set-up but neither one is synching. I have selected "Auto Synch" for both. When I go into "Tools" under the title "Synch Account" it says "Master synch has been turned off" although the green on button clearly shows. How do i set the synch so i receive my e-mails immediately?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I get a text message I also receive it in an email to my gmail that is associated with my google account. I have looked all over the internet and have found instructions on how to turn off the sync feature on s4, s3, etc. The s5 is completely different and does not have an easy "Text Sync" check box to turn the feature off. How do I get this turned off!!!
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since i got the galaxy s5 mini my emails never synced automatically. After a couple of weeks i disabled unified Daemon (draining too much battery). Today i went into the settings>>accounts>>email. It then lists my email and below it it says "sync disabled" in grey. I cant seen to change this. There is also "common settings" below this and within that I changed them all and still no luck! I don't know if unified daemon has anything to do with it but it did occur even before I disabled unified dameon.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is probably a configuration issue on my end that I cannot figure out the answer to....but when I am out of WiFi range, or I turn WiFi off my email wont sync or send and I get the error "Network Not Available: The message will be sent when the network is available" As soon as I turn wifi back on , it's fine. Is their a setting that tells an email account to only sync on WiFi? Or only send when on Wifi? It seems to ignore the 4G LTE network.
