I have my phone configured to use Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync which retrieves emails, calendar & tasks.I only want the calendar to be retrieved and not the emails.I can't see a way to do this, although my previous HTC Hero on Android 2.1 was able to do this.
View 1 RepliesWell I ditched the iphone 3gs and jumped in with the Samsung S2 today but I can't get it to sync with my email. I'm from British Columbia Canada and am with Telus, I run Outlook 2007. I keep getting "setup could not finish" with both the automatic and manual setup using IMAP, POP and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync when setting up through the email icon on the S2. Iphone was no problem with email.

I have looked all over the internet and have found instructions on how to turn off the sync feature on s4, s3, etc. The s5 is completely different and does not have an easy "Text Sync" check box to turn the feature off. How do I get this turned off!!!
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy boss is having trouble syncing his contacts with Exchange ActiveSync. the Exchange group is his default group.I checked it on 20 iphones connected to the server and found out no one else is having problems syncing his contacts from the Exchange Group.I am sure that he is pushing mail and calander but cannot sync contact.Contacts created on the phone under Exchange Group are stays on the phone.Contact created in Outlook stays on the server. Just for the record he hold 3400 contacts on his Exchange Account.

I see most posts relate to Android, sorry for question on old Omnia II. I just received an Omnia II this week, have worked through most issues. My last issue seems to be a software issue. The Omnia II has a number of widgets installed, one widget is an Exchange/Activesync widget. I get an error everytime I run the widget, it asks me to re-install. I cannot find a web site that will Provide a file to download for the Exchange/Activesync widget. Samsung support will not assist any instructions on reloading/re-installing the cab.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have added email account on my new Galaxy S5 with Exchange ActiveSync to connect my Exchange 2010 mailbox.It works like a charm, I can get all of my emails, I have selected which subfolders I want to synchronise with push method instead of default manual method.
My problem is that when I recevied a new email which is redirect to a subfolder on my email box, this email is also redirected in this subfolder on my phone.This is not user-friendly at all, because I have to open "View all folders/push '+' button" to see if I have a new email in a subfolder and also to open it.I have looked for a way to see in one place, the Inbox mails and all subfolders that I which to synchronise without success.
Do you know if it's possible to do that on Android ?I can't believe that all Android's people in the world are using my bad method to see emails in subfolders :-).
So I got this phone today. Loving it so far except that the email seems to want to sync every few minutes. I don't want it to use all my data. How to I set it up for manual sync? Every other phone I've ever used has this option....
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else setup the XPRT using the "Corporate Sync" account with a mailserver using ActiveSync? We've been trying a number of different phones out to do a company wide phone upgrade and have had numerous issues using the "Corporate Sync" connector within the XPRT. Our mailserver isn't Exchange but is Kerio Connect which has the ActiveSync connection. I've had no problems using the ActiveSync connection with other Android 2.2 and 2.3 phones and tablets along with iPads/iPhones but the XPRT has been troublesome to say the least. The latest problem we're having is I'm able to send a 1mb attachment but not a 2mb attachment from the "Corporate Sync" account. I get "message not sent" in the notification bar. I've tried different file types jpg and pdf and have tried it on two different phones/accounts and have had the same results. If I send the attachments out the Gmail it works fine and if I swap any other brand of Android phone to the same number/e-mail account it works fine. Looking at the Droid Pro and messaging forums this looks to always have been a problem caused by MotoBlur. I've got hours into this and Sprint connected me to Motorola Tier-2 who wants me to talk with Tier-3 which is callback only so I'm waiting.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a bit of a strange problem - my SGSII is about 2 months old now. Last month, when I was in poor signal areas, the phone automatically went to 3G and 2G. This month, it won't work.'ve tried everything I can think of - . Turned off Wi-Fi2. Long pressed the power button to make sure that data network mode is on3. Went to Settings -> Wireless & Network -> Mobile Networks. My 'use packet data' is checked. Network mode is GSM/WCDMA (Auto mode) is selected, although I have also selected the 'GSM only' and 'WCDMA only' options to no avail. or the 'Access Point Names' option, I only have one option which is 'PAYG WAP', which is strange because I am on a monthly contract!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI received a new gs5 phone. I crushed my previous gs5 and after retrieving files and resetting it, I mailed it off for my insurance claim.
While setting up the new gs5 everything went smoothly, but for some reason my Samsung account would not sync, displayING "sync unavailable right now, we areally working to fix the issue"(or some thing along the lInes of that. I didn't think much of it.
Now everything a Samsung app goes to update, it says update failed and the app is deleted. I started to get concerned... I went to the Samsung App store directly and upon entering it said my Samsung app store needed to be updated, and now it is deleted too.
The S Health app seems to be the only app that I am noticeably able to use that Samsung had on my phone. The Geo News app says registration failed every time I loads up.
When I reset my phone, it has a pop-up bog that says "Download Fail. Please try again later".
I've read a little bit and it seems that there is a problem with Kies and the Samsung Galaxy. My wife has the Captivate. At best, I am able to connect via USB Mass Storage Mode by manually copying songs or pictures, but I am unable to do so with Windows 7 64bit. I tried with an XP Machine I get the same thing.
Fortunately, the Samsung has OS 2.2 installed. When 2.3 or 3.0 officially comes out, I won't be able to update the firmware.
Has anyone found a reliable solid workaround solution to be able to copy contacts and pics etc to Galaxy? Samsung support is pretty much useless.
I'm not able to sync more than 50 emails ( hotmail btw ) ? when a new one arrives the oldest 50th one dissapears. Syncing 1 day or 1 month makes no difference?is this the same for you? anyone figured out how to get more than 50?

We looked into sync' 2 Iphones but they kept robbing eachothers info.Apparently a pc log on is required for each Iphone,logging in to I tunes does not differentiate between users? Whilst that's ok for apps it's not so good for contacts,etc.Looking at Kies I can opt to sync' a lot better than the Itunes system,so I doubt if I'd have to sync' anything apart from updates to the firmware/software if I chose.
A few times a day, I press the home key and my phone asks "What would you like to do?" I guess there's either a fault with my home button or I'm double-pressing it without realizing.Can I turn off this shortcut?

If I turn my phone off and want to turn it back on I cannot regardless of the battery level of the phone. I keep getting the exclamation mark start screen whenever I try after turning my phone off.
Just like the one below (it is not my phone in the picture, I just want to show you the exclamation mark warning message I get everytime), indicating it is overheated, but it can`t be overheated EVERY time I try to turn the phone off and back on? [URL]
However if I turn the phone off and plug in the charger I have no problem at all.
My phone wont stay off, i turn it off but it reboots automatically, also the car mode keeps activating randomly/randomly thinks it is charging and connected to a pc.
I updated it to the latest firmware via kies as well. Edit: Phone is not rooted and alarm clock plus is also another app that randomly starts.
Got my favourite song on CD and want it as a ringtone. Have been able to do it on other phones but cant see how to do it here??

If I put it on vibrate or silent, and go into an app (or accidentally press the home button twice - damn that button!) it will still play the sounds. But..I don't want the speaker off all the time, just at certain times of the day.

I upgraded to Outlook 2010 and installed the latest Kies upgrade and firmware in the phone, but still hangs at 39%. My phone calendar becomes useless if I can't sync.

I've installed Kies with no problems and sync'd everything but there is no option to sync MS Office Tasks. Is this for real? Surely there has to be a way for Kies to sync Office tasks in this so called smart phone?
I've got an S2. I tried to connect with the exchange server from my company. It works but there are one problem. The calender can't be sychronized..better to say I can't see my appointments. What can I do? Is there somebody where it works? I think everbody knows the problem with the lock screen.... the display is always locked after the display timeout....of course I can increase the time for the display timeout but i think my battery will be empty very quickly...is there an option to increase the time for the locked screen?
