Is there a way to take a screenshot without using a separate camera/phone? I.E. with the iPhone you press the power button and the home button and it'll take a screenshot of what is on your display wether you're looking at your homescreen or using an app.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe stock camera for my Motorola atrix 4g is not functioning. When I pull up the camera or even the camcorder. The screen is black. As if there is something blocking the lens. The camera overlays are present. The shutter button and zoom in and out keys. After awhile,I get an error message "Camera unable to initialize" I then have to force close. There is nothing blocking the lens. I thought it was a software issue. I've tried everything. Factory date reset twice. Tried different camera software, removed the battery,power cycles. Nothing works. Everything else functions properly. I've been scouring the internet for a solution. There is no solution, only complaints from other android users with the same issue. I think it's a hardware issue. 4G Camera won't initialize
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo today my phone got super hot. So hot that the screen on the top right corner got black und I received a warning that the phone is going into cool down mode. I shut it down and removed the battery to let it cool down.
But now the camera doen't work anymore and the screen stays black when I open a camera app.
Also, it still tends to get hot even when it is turned off and the battery is inserted.
Whenever I take a picture, I like to hold my phone vertical. Hence, all my pictures are sideways. Is there a setting or an app I can get that will change the orientation of my photos?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI bought the Atrix 2 today.Initial thoughts, the screen looks really nice, the soft rubber back feels better then the Atrix 1. I got the same internet speeds as the Atrix 1. Camera button convenient though pressing it doesnt launch camera app. On the Atrix 2 internal memory isnt accessible, even hooking up to pc you cant browse it, so you need a SD card to put music and videos, etc on it.HDMI mirroring worked as expected. I think the MHL mirroring from the SGS2 was better quality though.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI feel like this was a pretty popular request, and when we all saw the separate volume buttons, many said the same thing.finally we can hold the phone like a normal camera and not have to fiddle with touching the screen.Evidently not, seeing as nothing was mentioned of it in iOS4 or iPhone 4 keynotes, nor is it mentioned in feature overviews. Certainly not a deal breaker, just more of an annoyance. It's odd that Apple hasn't given us this feature without having to jailbreak, as I'd think the coding for it is very minimal.

I have to hit emergency call, then the PIN screen appears, then the emergency dialer appears, and I have to hit "back" and the PIN screen appears again. While the screen is black tapping on anything doesn't work except the silent slider. I have the button press developer option enabled for anyone who wonders why the dots are there. The face unlock had been working fine for several days.

Very happy with this phone.After the last upgrate of Android (2.3.4), I started having problems with the camera. Sometimes, I get the following message:"Sorry! The application Camera (process com.motorola.Camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again".The only option is to click on "Force close". However, I can try as many times I want to run the camera app and I keep getting the same message, and not being able to use the camera at all. The only solution is to restart my cell phone which is very inconvinient.

What I don't know is the size of the atrix camera covering. The Bbionic looks to be about 7/16" square with slightly rounded corners.

Since then some of the settings in the Camera app have disappeared. The manual says the options available in the camera settings should be: Picture Res, Video Res, Exposure, Review Time, Shutter Tone and Storage Location, which were all present when I first got the phone. But since the update, only pic res, vid res, exposure, storage location are available. I have tried clearing the camera apps data and cache, but no changes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday may be the first time I attempted to transfer photos from my Atrix to the PC. I am running Windows 7 Pro-64bit. After connection via cable, I select USB Mass Storage for the USB connection. Windows throws up a box that asks "Do you want to scan and fix Removable Disk?" I select "continue without scanning. In Windows Explorer there appear to be far fewer folders on the card than when viewing in Astro, but I did not do an exhaustive check. Of immediate concern is that the Camera folder is not visible under DCIM, thus I can't retrieve my photos over the cable. Should I back up the card directly to the PC via microSD adapter then let Windows scan and fix next time over cable?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI called moto this morning and told them the phone is awesome, but the camera can't focus on anything, and the video is jerky. The customer service guy told me he is sending the problem up the latter and is confident that it will be addressed with the next firmware update. He said there were a few people having the same problem. I'm not ready to get rid of this phone, but the camera/video camera are not on the same level with other 8mp/1080 p recording devices.

View 10 Replies View RelatedAccording to the information that I had read so far. There are 2 ways to capture screenshot:
1. Press the power button & Home button together.
2. Use the Motion & gestures, palm swipe to capture method.
Method 2 so far work for me. But it's a little tricky because sometimes the screen register my palm swipe as finger swipe and it moves the page...
I prefer the use of physical button. But I couldn't figure how to use the method 1. Whenever I try to hold down the power and home button together (for about 2 seconds), it's either launch Google Now or it bring me back to the home screen...
My phone is constantly over heating (only when I am not using it) to the point it gets hot as a stove literally. And the bad thing is after the 5 overheat my Camera does not work any more which is a problem because the is my most used feature. My aunt said the reason it overheats is because its trying hard to look for signal. No mods, no root, only one sideloaded app.

How can we change this to another filename mask, like "YYYY_MMDD_hhmmss xxx.jpg" (example: 2011_0801_091612 123.jpg) or any other format of our choosing?In addition, are there any other field masks that we can use beyond the YYY, MM and DD and time fields?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSuddenly I can't take a screenshot. I hold Power and press Volume Down and the volume goes down. I keep trying and it goes mute. Nothing I do fixes this. Isn't there some kind of cache I can clear, like Dalvik cache?
I've had volume problems on this phone since I got it, usually just the volume going completely silent even if it shows halfway on media or phone, no matter which output (earpiece, speaker, headphones, bluetooth), and the only fix was to stop all media, go to the homescreen, turn the phone volume down until it mutes, then turn it back up and resume the media.
However, a few days ago when this problem happened again, I couldn't get the volume out of media mode even after stopping the media and going to the homescreen. I couldn't get it to mute or go to vibrate using the volume buttons. I had to Menu > System Settings > Sound > Volumes and manually set phone to mute then turn it back up. Now I can't take a screenshot.
Something is screwed up in the software, either corrupted in the system software or screwed up in the cache; I can't figure it out, but I blame Motorola for poor programming, considering I haven't run into any of these problems on the Galaxy Nexus, as well as the other volume problems I've had on this phone (Bluetooth and headset too loud at the lowest volume, earpiece too quiet at the highest... why can't Motorola have the same volumes across outputs?!).
When i am trying to make a call to my another phone the dialer keeps on looping and does not disconnect, and when i call someone else as soon as i take the phone near to my ears the phone restarts.
