Using Lotus Traveler for email. My contacts link themselves all the time. If I fix them/unlink them, within a day or two they are linked again. Im talking 20 contacts all linked under one name, and this happening to most my contacts

How would I link that info with other info such as their phone number so that their profile pic from facebook comes up when I receive a call from them or even a text from them? I had the pics like that show up on my last Droid 2 (before I lost it and received a refurb replacement).

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is the only phone that i've had that does not allow the option to link the notification and ringtone volume together. it's really inconvenient to use the volume rocker to adjust the volume of the ringtone, only to have to go deep in to settings to adjust the notitication volume as well.At least on my nexus 7, there's a mini setting when you hit the volume rocker that allows you to adjust the playback and notification volumes from your current screen. i hope that gets added to the JB build of this phone, if we cant link.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn GB we used to be able to link our ring tone and notification volume. Doing that allowed me to use Smart Actions to lower the volume of my phone when at work, or make it go completely silent when at school. After upgrading to ICS I no longer have the ability to link the two volumes (see attached photo). How can I link the two volumes again and continue using Smart Actions. (note I want to try and not use third party apps to do something that was an included feature, ex: using another profile management app to disable notification sounds.)

Generally it works fine but I have a problem with maps and using a contact as destination.When I tried this I was asked to link the contact address to a place on a map.Apart from the fact this this is a real pain to have to link each one manually (why ?) the other issue is the fact that the Street is changed and the 7 character UK postcode is truncated to 5 characters. I can of course manually correct afterwards.Is there a way of easily setting a number of contacts up without having to manually re-edit the address and postcodes every time ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am facing a very frustrating problem. Sometimes when I create/edit a contact and hit save, then search for that contact in my contacts I can't find it!! Or sometimes I can find it but with all the contact information deleted.I am using Verizon Backup assitant to manage my contacts. I wonder if anyone else have the same problem. That problem is not only frustrating, but also embarassing, especially when you are entering a new friend's contact while showing off your phone
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter having gone a couple of months withs with Gingerbread without any problems to report I started experiencing a strange thing with incoming calls, texts, emails, etc.For incoming calls, the number displayed is the correct number but the screen pulls an incorrect name from my contacts list and displays a picture (taken from either LinkedIn or Facebook profiles) that is from a third, different contact.So the number is for Contact A and is the actual caller, the name that is displayed is contact B and the photo is contact c.If I go to make an outgoing call, the same thing in the inverse occurs.I choose Contact A and it dials contact A but displays it is calling contact B.This has caused me to have to double & triple check when I am making calls to ensure that it is calling the right contacts.
A similar thing happens for texts, incoming texts display the correct number from which they are originating but display that they are from a different contact name.When I go to send a text and enter a number it indicates that it is sending it to the correct phone number but with a different name assocaited with that number. Finally, something similar is happening in email messaging. If I hit reply, while the actual email address is correct the contact name that it lists is incorrect.
I want to take full advantage of HD video camera on my Droid Turbo, and found an external lavalier lapel microphone (Audio Technica 3350iS, which comes with an adapter for "smartphones including iPhone and newer Android phones"). But even when I use the adapter, the video recorder will only use the phone's on board mic. How can I disable/mute the onboard mic? Scoured the interweb, and at one point there was a perfect app "Mute Mic", but the NSA or Google or Motorola decided it was too useful to live.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm not a fan of the car dock app. I can only add one app to the shortcuts and I can't replace the existing ones. There's also a big back icon taking up space in the map app that I can't disable. Plus, I'd rather just use the default Google Navigation app instead. It has a better "follow me" feature when not navigating. Well, at least I like the first person perspective option versus the aerial point of view.
So, is it possible to replace the car app with a 3rd party app? I'd like it to launch instead of the Motorola one when the phone is docked. If so, what's a good 3rd party car app?
If that's not possible, then can I completely disable the car app from launching when docked? I'd prefer to keep using the Motorola car dock since I have Smart Actions that turn on GPS and Bluetooth when docked. I can press menu then exit to go to the home screen but when I press the home button it launches the car dock app again.
Today, my phone and my husband's (same phone: Droid X) activated voicemail on it's own, or else Verizon did it for us. Problem is, neither of us WANT voicemail on our phones! How can we deactivate, while still keeping the option of voicemail later? I thought about just forcing a stop on the voicemail, but am worried that it will mean we won't have the option of voicemail in the future, should we require it.

However, it seems that Droid thinks I hold the buttons to long and launches the search browser anytime I hold a key down for longer than a nano second (which I guess happens a lot when I type). How do I disable all Long press application launches - especially Google Search? I did disable all other applicatins thru the Settings menu but can't seem to get rid of Goolgle search launching ever minute as I type on the keyboard.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if there is a way to get rid of or disable visual voicemail on my Turbo? It is getting annoying any time I get a voicemail and the phone tries to default me to visual voicemail instead of standard (non visual) voicemail.
Also, is it now the norm for voicemail messages to be "read" as to the exact time/date/length of the voicemail? Or is that a component of visual voicemail? My messages often take longer to "load" than to listen to the actual vm itself since it is telling me what day it was sent, what time, how long, etc

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter the ICS update, I lost the GPS Enabled/Disabled toggle widget that used to be on my Razr Maxx. It was so easy to push this button to enable/disable the GPS function. Just like the Airplane mode.... Any ideas how I can bring that back?? BTW, I now need to use 3 steps to check the Stand Alone GPS block on my locations in order to use my Google Maps Navigator.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI only use the contacts synched from my Google account on my phone, so I have absolutely no need for Verizon's "Backup Assistant" - yet it's running on my phone anyway and I don't know how to disable it (short of killing it from a task manager - which I've read is not a good idea). When I go to Menu->Manage Apps->Running, I see "Backup Assistant" and another application with the same icon named "Sync Service" both running - using 1.6MB and 2.7MB of RAM respectively. It doesn't give you the option of uninstalling it from the app drawer like other apps do. Is there a way to disable it without rooting the phone?

We need to be able to disable all apps that is safe to do so. Cause the three that I mention here are running all the time and I don't even use them. I've stopped them and there already running again. At least make these 3 so that they can be disabled.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've used exclusively Google Voice for voicemails, and not the VZW service, for over 6 months. I figure all VZW voicemails are cleared out by now. But still, the little "tape" icon is displayed in the notification banner. When I enter the voicemail app, I see that I do have one voicemail. Also, the green LED blinks incessantly sometimes (but sometimes not??). I think the voicemail notification and LED blinking are related.Is there any way to disable notifications for the VZW voicemail, both the notification icon and/or the LED blinking? The Menu button has no effect in the voicemail app, and I don't see any applicable setting in the phone's Settings menu.Or, is there some way to clear/empty/disable my VZW voice mailbox without deactivating Google voicemail for my phone?

1.My new Droid X2 takes 2-3 seconds to turn on the screen after the power button is pressed to take it out of sleep mode, is there a way Motorola can address this issue since it did not exist in Droid X1.
2.I wish there was a way to disable vibration on the unlock slider (I know it didn't exist on DX1) but it'd be nice to have ability to not have that.
3.Is there a way to make it so that when you turn on the phone it does not make a loud "Droid" sound? Even if it's in silent or vibrate mode it still makes that sound, this didn't exist in DX1.Otherwise I like the screen more than in DX1 because it's more contrasty, sharper, and way more responsive to touch, which is great.The motoblur and interface.Same can be said about the whole phone, it's faster/more responsive and more refined UI compared to DX1 in my opinion, good job there.
1.Please add a numeric battery percentage indicator overlaying or next to the battery meter in top notification bar, or atleast return the battery percentage info in the settings like it was in DX1, otherwise one has to go Settings -> About -> Status to see it.
2.Please make gallery display all the pictures after a single-click on gallery app, instead of having to first click on gallery, then wait for some slide-show preview to render, then having to click on "Camera Roll" to get to actual pictures. Seems like a 10 second (2 click) process to view your pictures, it really should just be 1 click and 1-2 second process...
3.Please allow to turn off vibration on slider unlock, as well as "Droid" sound when phone boots up.
4.Please add ability to remove 7 home-screens and set it to only 1 if that's what I use.
5.Allow more icons on the home-screen, I think 5 rows can easily fit, maybe even 5 columns, or 6 rows, instead of generic 4 x 4.
